Oh you've got a bit of a way to go yet. How are you finding things? I was terribly tired during my first trimester. I couldn't wait to find out so they told me on my 22wk scan. Are you at St George's?

Funnyone · 13/08/2008 13:58

Nope, chose Chelsea and Westminster, as that's where my sister went too. Not been that tired really - tho some days have been back to bed in the afternoon - not when at work tho! Feel ok, now that I'm in my 2nd trimester. I swear I can feel him/her!! Just a little poke every now and then! But people tell me it's too early. Can you remember when you felt your baby?

I think it was around the 17 week mark. I went skiing at 16/17 weeks and I thought I had a bit of gas during the flight home(expanding air and all that) but it continued for days before I realised what it was. Like air gurgling in your gut but lower and nearer the front if you see what I mean. I'd been feeling kicks for at least a week before I realised what they were. DS was jumping around during my 22wk scan and it was a bit of a lightbulb "so that's what that is" moment!

I had loads of knee operations in C&W a few years ago and I had physio appts there for ages so I couldn't face it for antenatal appts too, probably quite silly really because it was really nice when I was on the ortho ward! My sister had her's at St George's so that's why I chose there. I had a cs in the end so I ended up staying in for 3 days which would probably have been nicer in C&W as it's a newer hospital.

Funnyone · 13/08/2008 14:18

Dunno, I've heard from several people, incl my sister, that the after-care at C&W is not v good. Sister also had 2 cs's there. Can't believe you went skiing in your second trimster! Here's me being all cautious on hols - I didn't go whitewater rafting, even tho I love it!

HeadFairy · 13/08/2008 14:23

well it was only just in to 2nd trimester. I've since found out it was safer to go then than in the first trimester as was our original plan. I reassured my mum by telling her I wouldn't do any black runs. I'm not sure she was convinced hehehehe!

To be honest in my vast experience of post natal care, it's all pretty rubbish cos you just want to be home where you can be in your own bed, with nice home cooked food, and someone who brings you a cuppa in bed and a stack of magazines and books, not in an over heated ward full of screaming babies, with crap food and a 200m walk to the nearest loo! Until there's an NHS hospital with post natal wards like home they're all pretty grim. Mind you, I was so gobsmacked and high on adrenalin and God knows what hormones I barely noticed. Just stared at my baby all day and grinned like an idiot!

Hi my name's Lee, we just moved to Wandsworth a couple months ago with our 11month old little boy, Louis.
I'd like to get to know other fellow mums in our area & around (we're literally almost on Wandsworth common, Ellerton road;)
If anyone is about & would like to meet with our little ones please do give me a ping by [email protected]
Hope to hear from you soon!
