I'm am determined to make the Belfast Local Boards (and Co Antrim, where I also Tsarina!) more active!

Who is up for a conversation about living in Belfast and the absolute lack of child friendly places to go?! Grin

Seriously, anyone about?

All good here Tee, Friday again Grin.

How are you this week?

scampbell84 · 20/01/2012 15:24

Went awfully quiet in here again lol!! Anyone selling a Doppler?? Or know where I can get one at a reasonable price??

TeeTsarina · 20/01/2012 21:04

Sorry scamp no clue on a Doppler. I refused to get one because I would have made myself insane listening for Adam's heartbeat! Now that he's 2.7, I listen to it whenever I want. Grin

So sad about those babies at the Royal. Adam was in their SCBU for 9 days. Those poor poor parents.

Hi ladies,

Just discovering local boards. I am in Co. Antrim, fairly handy to Belfast. First baby due in august...I am terrified!

TeeTsarina · 26/01/2012 08:14

Hi rumour and congratulations! Can you talk about what has you so scared? Maybe the rest of us can help!

NeedlesCuties · 26/01/2012 08:25

Sorry, I fell off this thread and sort of, umm, forgot about it Blush I am sorry!

I spent my weekend in hospital being treated and rehydrated after suffering from a bad bout of hyperemesis gravidarum very not nice! But I'm glad to be home and back in the bosom of MN as I didn't have access to it in hospital.

rumour you're on my Due in August thread. I can PM you and we can chat if you like, share our experiences and worries. This is my DC2 but I remember clearly how I felt when I was pregnant for the first time... as it was only 2 years ago Wink

TeeTsarina · 26/01/2012 08:28

So glad you're feeling better needles!

AnEcumenicalMatter · 26/01/2012 11:00

Hello folks.

Sorry I disappeared early on in the thread. DP and I were having a last holiday before our lives change forever in June. Now we're back to reality, we'll have to start properly getting organised. Need to rearrange the sleeping arrangements upstairs, redecorate and start shopping for essentials. 20 week scan in 2 weeks time so I think after that we can start to do the practical stuff.

Suddenly June doesn't seem so far away!

Theeverexpandingrodders · 26/01/2012 11:07

Hello im from bangor

TeeTsarina · 26/01/2012 15:51

Hi Grodders, and welcome!

Ecumincal June is ages and ages away! Otherwise my baby will be 3 much too soon. Wink

Hard enough I've put in his pre-school app....

emblosion · 26/01/2012 20:56

Hello all! I've not been on much this week either, been busy doing plenty of DIY this week. Trying to get all the dusty decorating done before baby arrived In June....

ecumenical I know what you mean about June fast approaching (sorry tee!), my scan is in two weeks too, 8th Feb. Can't wait!

AnEcumenicalMatter · 26/01/2012 21:06

My scan is 10th Feb, emblosion. What's your due date?

TeeTsarina · 26/01/2012 21:50

I am wondering if any of you June ladies are married to the man I was talking to yesterday at my client's site. I won't say any more, but if anyone is married to someone who has an office at a park like place, do PM me! Grin

therumoursaretrue · 26/01/2012 22:14

Thanks Tee I think I am just naturally anxious but also baby wasn't planned and although we are over the moon I feel like there is so much to get my head around! I am studying at the moment so trying to work out wether I should take a year out or not and find a get-rich-quick scheme before LO arrives!

needles that would be great, thanks. I hope you are feeling much better now btw!

TeeTsarina · 27/01/2012 12:31

Afternoon all!

I can now highly recommend Institute of Beauty on Upper Lisburn Road (Finaghy) if anyone is looking for nails or other things! Got my fingers and toes done and various bits of hair waxed off. Grin

rumour I can understand anxiety, I have 2 of anxiety disorders myself! If it would help, be happy to discuss everything about having a baby, except labour because I never had that (scheduled CS).

I will have to check them out, quite handy for me, not far from where I work.

Yes I think it's just a fear of the unknown so expect lots of questions from me!

wigglesrock · 28/01/2012 21:00

Hiya Grin, nearly died when I saw this thread. I have 3 dds (6,4 and 11 months). Live in Co.Antrim, should I be worried that I feel a tad broody at all this talk of new babies? Grin

TeeTsarina · 28/01/2012 21:13

Hi Wiggles! Glad to see ya. Grin

Rumour, ask away. I am an expert. My one child is 2.7. Grin

Everyone having a nice weekend? I have Wine if anyone would like a glass?

OP posts:
emblosion · 29/01/2012 10:46

Oops ecumenical I missed your post, sorry! My due date is 21st June, how about you? Do you know where you are going to have the baby yet?

We have booked nct classes, start at the end of April, hoping it will be a good way to get to know people more than anything else!

Hello to everyone else :) hope you are all having a good weekend!

AnEcumenicalMatter · 29/01/2012 11:59

I'm due on 23rd, emblosion. Booked in at the Ulster. I looked at the NCT classed but haven't got around to booking yet. Must get a move on!

OhBrotherWhereArtThou · 29/01/2012 15:26

Hi all,

Another due-in-June here! This is number 3 for me, I have DD(4) and DS(2 next month).

I'm sure SamuelJohnstons at abbey centre was just moving rather than closing down, I'm fairly sure I remember seeing a sign with a new address. That's as useful as I can be though, as I forget where they were moving to!

Scamp, I got a Doppler from eBay. It's great! I got an angelsounds one for £20, I didn't want to spend too much because (in theory) this is my last baby.

Great to see so much activity here :)

OhBrotherWhereArtThou · 29/01/2012 15:27

Oh! And I'm also at the ulster, should we all arrange to wear a red rose or something :o

AnEcumenicalMatter · 29/01/2012 17:50

Wow! Is there something of a NI baby boom happening in June?

Well this is Mumsnet, so perhaps we should be arranging to wear something Boden Grin
