Meet-up?

Hi ladies.

I was just wondering if there are any meet-ups planned and, if so, could I invade?

I'm currently on mat leave with DS2 and slowly going a bit mental!

If there isn't any planned, would anybody be interested in helping organise a meet-up?

Anyone?

Haven't had a Glasgow meet-up in a while. Last one was the Scottish Christmas meet-up over in Edinburgh back in December.

Keep bumping this one and see if you can get some critical momentum.

I work from home so am fairly flexible - plus my wee boy is 10 now (so not so wee Wink) so at school and/or doing other things at weekends.

Wherwabouts are you: north side or south side?

TwoWeeSausages · 05/03/2011 19:26

I'm north Prettybird but just outside citycentre.

I would be interested in a meet up.

I am in the south side but drive so could meet up anywhere really (and now have a working sat nav!).

My life sounds complicated as I do drop offs and pick ups from school and nursery. In reality it is very simple.

I should be able to get along to anywhere really even if just for an hour or so.

prettybird · 06/03/2011 23:19

Like letsgetloud I'm south side but can drive pretty much anywhere.

lorrz · 08/03/2011 21:44

Hey, stay in dennistoun, but would love to meet up with you guys if Teresa any plan to? I get lost all the time, but can sat nav it up. X

JennyPiccolo · 08/03/2011 23:10

I could do this, i have a wee baby and no mum pals.

weegiemum · 08/03/2011 23:15

Oooooooh yes polease its been ages

JennyPiccolo · 08/03/2011 23:16

yay, mates.

weegiemum · 08/03/2011 23:22

Good places before have been the Tramway, Glasgow Green (in good weather) and Kelvingrove.

I also have kids all at school so am free all but wed and thurs mornings when I work.

Have been very depressed and missed the last few but am ready to get going again with being sociable!

We shoudl put out a shout for Giraffes, wiggle, RHG etc if they don't see this!

prettybird · 09/03/2011 10:31

No problem weegiemum :)

But if it's the Tramway we can walk! :)

TwoWeeSausages · 09/03/2011 11:32

I've never been to a meetup so am quite looking forward to this

I'm interested too, southside but can travel. Off work atm due to recent operation.

prettybird · 09/03/2011 11:54

So far, it's mostly SOuthsiders....so how about the Tramway?

There's free on-street parking (may have to walk about 500m though, if it's all full) and it is also beside Pollokshields East railway station for anyone on public transport. Don't know the numbers of the buses though.

The Tramway does a very nice carrot cake but I am on a diet Grin

TwoWeeSausages · 09/03/2011 17:06

Never been to the tramway before. Whats it like?

OP posts:
prettybird · 09/03/2011 17:28

Nice coffees and light lunches. Tables, chairs and comfy sofas both downstairs and upstairs on the mezzanine, so it is not normally too crowded. If the weather is nice, kids can have a run around in thw Hidden Gardens.

Only downside is the skinny malinks dancers from Scottish Ballet reminding you of just how much weight you have put on since your youth.... Grin

lorrz · 09/03/2011 19:40

Sounds fab. I've no idea where the tramway is but looks like ill find out. When are u ladies thinking? Never been to a meet up before. Take it we will recognise each other by the babies in tow. Mmm.... carrot cake

weegiemum · 09/03/2011 19:45

My first ever MN met was at the tramway and I asked 3 tables of people if they were the MN group as they all had babies and then found a table with only 1 baby and that was them!!

Have to admit I knew it was them cos one of the people was Red Haired Girlie and she doesn't lie! (I luuuuurve her hair!).

Any whens? I can't do Wed all day or Thurs morning and have to be home for 3.30 for school bus.

prettybird · 09/03/2011 19:49

Neither weegiemum nor I will have babies - or even kids - in tow, having got beyound that stage..... Grin

I too have done the embarassing "approaching tables to ask if they were waiting for anyone and being looked at like a I was a mad woman 'cos I don't know who I am meeting".

But we usually manage to find each other! :)

weegiemum · 09/03/2011 19:51

Although later in April on one of the multitude of public holidays would be good too - but I'm assuming this is in the next couple of weeks we're talking!

TwoWeeSausages · 09/03/2011 20:52

Wednesday are not great for me but any other day would be good for me.

So it loiks like we're having this meetup at the Tramway. Do we have any dates in mind?

OP posts:
TwoWeeSausages · 09/03/2011 20:52

*looks.

Damn phone!

OP posts:
lorrz · 09/03/2011 21:20

I'll keep my eyes open and ask every table till I find u guys. He he. I'm good any day except Mon to wed.......yeah, so that leaves Thursday Fri or weekend. Although making a duty visit to the in laws tomorrow. X x

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 09/03/2011 22:39

I'd definitely be interested in a meet up at the Tramway. Not only would I get to meet all the wonderful Glasgow mumsnetters, but I knitted a square for the International Women's Day sit-and-knit-a-bit blanket and it would be nice to see if I could spot my square.

I can do any day except Thursdays.
