Firstly i will have to convince dh which will be no mean feat!

I don't want to be in a little village in the middle of nowhere, I don't want to be in the heart of a city. Other than that I am open to ideas. Thanks

lucy5 - yuk!
Paddling! It's a different world down there on the costa - there was ice on the cars here yesterday morning! [goes to re-fill hot water bottle}

choosy - don't get me started on hayfever - i developed it after several years in Spain and it gets worse every year...it's the millions of EU subsidised olive trees that cause it...

Hi Lucy

Have a look on www.rightmove.co.uk - covers property for sale/rent all over the UK, if nothing else it´ll give you an idea of prices etc...

Know what you mean about going back to England, I really cannot settle here and am still very homesick. How much longer is one supposed to give it....??
Covincing my DH would be a mammoth task too as he feels he´s "done his time" in England (8 yrs) and I know he isn´t planning on us ever going back

aah.. we've just started to discuss moving to the UK aswell (from Baleares), again very similar reasons to most of you. I do love the culture here but it's just so BORING. There is nothing to do in winter and last summer was awful with a newborn stuck in the house trying to avoid the heat.

We've decided to make a plan to move in a couple of years which gives us time to sort it out properly..

We are thinking of moving back too. Well we are def moving back - just a matter of when. DH up for a new job here - if he gets it we stay another 5 years, if he doesn't we stay 2. Guess which I am hoping for?

And we will be heading to Somerset!

We were trapped inside for 3 weeks this summer. Thank God for the basement which stays nice and cool but it was pretty boring after a while. It was too hot for DS to go outside till about 7pm.

And yesterday we had an ice storm.
