How are you doing? Any news? Sorry if you are sick of being asked!

the midwife did agree with that (i.e. the weather) when I talked to her earlier, and I think I agree too - feel like I'm on the brink but wouldn't want to be in labour today! Did have a lovely cool bath earlier too.

think it is supposed to be cooler (even wet) tomorrow so maybe...

mamama · 06/03/2007 03:50

you're still there?! Not that I'm not pleased to see you, but... well, we're waiting!

(as if you're not!)

MrsJohnCusack · 06/03/2007 03:57

I think this afternoon I have officially Had Enough.
Still, should all be done and dusted within the next couple of days. having dreaded another induction all the way through, am positively gagging for it now!

vizbizz · 06/03/2007 03:59

Hope you are resting somewhere cool! It's nasty hot today.

more vibes for cool weather and the start of labour

tsk tsk

You better sort it out by tomorrow lunchime as I don't know when I will be able to log on before Sunday ...

Did I tell you I was going for 4 childless nights to Sydney????? [can't wait emoticon]

twentypence · 06/03/2007 04:53

Wow, how did you manage that Ghosty?

vizbizz · 06/03/2007 05:05

Ghosty! I am SOOOO jealous! Have an amazing time

OP posts:
MrsJohnCusack · 06/03/2007 05:47

Ghosty! sounds fab! (I can't wait to get to Sydney, have never been to Australia)

I just managed to bump into the midwife I was supposed to have, at the supermarket! we had a lovely long chat after she popped up behind me saying 'what are you still doing here'. Was v.nice, but frustrating!

sunnywong · 06/03/2007 05:48

Do get on with it, dear.

ghosty · 06/03/2007 08:48

Yes, Sydney - stroke of genius really. Booked my ticket to this conference months ago - thinking I would be going from Melbourne for 2 nights (Early Thursday a.m till late Saturday p.m) ...
Ended up still being here in NZ so had to do some clever rearranging of stuff (farming out of children etc) and off I go tomorrow afternoon. Bagged a free apartment in Darling Harbour too Yay!

Downer is that I will miss out on seeing DH - he gets home on Friday evening (to pick up children from friends' houses) then flies back to Melbourne 1 hour before I land back in Auckland on Sunday ....
Ho hum .... 4 nights without the children was just too attractive

Mind you, never been away from them for longer than 3 nights .... But I doubt it'll be too much of a hardship

Better go and pack ... wow, a whole bag, just for meeeee

So, Mrs JC ... I want that baby out by tomorrow lunchtime OK??? [bossy]

sunnywong · 06/03/2007 11:43

what's the "conference" about then?

you should go for a swim in the olympic size open air out door pool just by Lunar Park under the bridge, it's a real trip.

But then I 'm sure you will have far better things to do. Like have a bath for 3 hours and drink wine and not have anyone pipe up "Muuu-uuum" for 4 days.

Enjoy it

Budababe · 06/03/2007 20:58

No news then?

Am moving house and though I had been really really clever in marking the computer table to STAY till last moment. Except DH told the movers to move the chair!!!! Bloody bloody men!

Anyway - will be off line from tomorrow am-ish till God knows when. I want news when I come back! NEWS!

Get on with it!!

ghosty · 06/03/2007 21:26

Right. The weather has turned in Auckland. 'Tis raining cats and dogs. Still warm but peeing down.
So ... has the weather turned in Christchurch I wonder?

MrsJC ... I just wanted to say should your baby decide to wait till Friday I have it on very good authority that the 9th March is an EXCELLENT day to be born. I know a truly wonderful person whose birthday is on that day - bright, high achieving, popular, good looking ... you name it, she's got it ... so, yes, Friday would be a good day.

welliemum · 06/03/2007 21:29

Weather has turned here.......

ghosty · 06/03/2007 21:31

Mrs JC????? 4bob???? What's the weather like in Ch'ch????

MrsJohnCusack · 06/03/2007 21:47

weather hasn't quite turned here yet but is supposed to later
have had a small show and slightly dodgy tummy this morning, but then, that's nothing new really so I'll not get excited
happy birthday Ghosty! DH's is on the 11th, having joked that there's no way he'd share it with this baby, it's become less funny as the days go on

MrsJohnCusack · 06/03/2007 21:52

actually no it has turned, much cooler

ghosty · 06/03/2007 22:06

Hmmmm ... slightly cooler you say? Dodgy tum and small show?
Well, MrsJC, I safely say that your baby will be here soon ...
Does that help?

AitchTwoOh · 06/03/2007 22:08

Come on ladies, you know what you've got to do...

MrsJohnCusack · 06/03/2007 22:17

of course the dodgy stomach could be because I sat in my beanbag sulking and eating crap yesterday evening...

well, it's induction tomorrow whatever, so either way should have a baby in the next couple of days. This has been going on SO LONG I've kind of forgotten about the newborn baby aspect of it all!

AitchTwoOh · 06/03/2007 22:20

pmsl at you sulking in your beanbag.

welliemum · 06/03/2007 22:26

Oooh, I think Dr Ghosty is right - you'll have a baby soon!

Have just had confirmation that I need to be in chch on 29 March to get an extra hole in the head (aka cochlear implant).

However, don't stress if at that time you're still lounging on the beanbag in your nightie with the baby - there will be lots of follow-up visits so plenty of time to do a MN meetup.

ghosty · 06/03/2007 22:27

Oh just get on with it will you? ... you are just attention seeking now, aren't you???
It's not big and it's not clever and it doesn't impress your friends.

Only joking ... All this waiting is a barstard innit? Poor you ... [sympathy]

suejonez · 06/03/2007 22:32

Oh good luck MrsJC.

Fatfox (Kew - not sure you ever met her before leaving) had her DS2 today so its a good week for the west london posse (of which of course we still count you).

MrsJohnCusack · 06/03/2007 22:34

I am bored with myself now! I didn't anticipate being here this long when I started moaning on here...am becoming convinced that soon my body will simpy reabsorb the baby and we'll forget that anything was ever supposed to happen.

we will definitely have a meet up at the end of March then welliemum - that would be great!
