We're away for the next 2 Fridays after 15th. Oh dear.
How about the 6th October??
Sorry about the delay in posting, I haven't checked in a few days.

eidsvold · 01/09/2006 06:46

6th of October sounds okay - know dh and I are going to see Dixie Chicks that night but otherwise will pencil it in.

OP posts:
flannelettepyjamas · 01/09/2006 09:47

OK great.
Bouj??

Bouj · 01/09/2006 10:23

Sounds good to me. Looking forward to it!

flannelettepyjamas · 03/10/2006 10:21

Hi Eids and Bouj,
Eids, so sorry to hear about your FIL. I hope your DH and your MIL are coping. All very hard being so far away. I think he's back on Friday from what I've read - I bet you can't wait.
We have talked about meeting up this Friday at Southbank - I'd actually forgotten that it was this week until today.
What do you think?
Eids, I know you're having a bummer of a week and your DH is back on Friday. If you'd rather leave it for another Friday that's fine with me. I'm free most Fridays.
Bouj, what do you think??
PS. I'm really looking forward to meeting you guys!

eidsvold · 03/10/2006 10:29

oh I had forgotten all about it. Would rather not do it this Fri apart from fact dh just back - would have had two dds and dd1 is jsut really missing dh so being very testing.

However - am u p for most Fri's - what about next week - 13th?!?!

OP posts:
eidsvold · 03/10/2006 10:30

what about - city botanical gardens - great caf - fab food!!!! I would have to go by about 1 to get dd1 from kindy but would be free from about 10ish - time for me to drop dd1 off and get into town with dd2.

OP posts:
flannelettepyjamas · 03/10/2006 11:01

That sounds great Eids.
I could do 10 no probs.
Your week sounds like a bit of a nightmare this week - I hope you get a good rest when DH gets back ( after his jetlag settles of course!).
Lets see if Bouj can make that date too.

eidsvold · 04/10/2006 09:19

bugger - thought dd2's swimming would be on Thursday - which it was but it has had to be moved to - yup you guessed it Friday. We can still make it but it would be about 12 noon - just in time for lunch I guess and we would have to head off at 1 - sorry for such a short stay but I really do want to meet up.

Feel free to meet earlier - we can just crash at midday

OP posts:
flannelettepyjamas · 05/10/2006 12:34

Hi Eids,
Ha, at this rate our new babies will be here before we get to meet up!
Seriously, no worries at all - I know how it is.
Actually, 12.30 is DD's sleep time so 12 wouldn't be a good time for us.
How about the following week??

flannelettepyjamas · 05/10/2006 12:49

PS have a fab day tomorrow reuniting with your DH

eidsvold · 05/10/2006 19:43

it is swimming lessons that throw us out and dd1 only has kindy two hours on wed and thurs morning - real struggle to bring both.

Swimming for dd2 was supposed to be a Thurs so that is why I though I was safe picking fri - but her swimming got changed.

Think the lesson is about 1/2 hour - take us to 11 and then get dressed and head off to city - could make it 11.30.

We could just be flexible - if Bouj can get there a bit earlier - perhaps you two can meet earlier and dd2 and I will just gatecrash a little later iyswim.

Otherwise - weekend child free afternoon tea at the gardens - possible??

OP posts:
flannelettepyjamas · 08/10/2006 08:35

Eids, I hope you had a great catchup with DH. How were the Dixie Chicks??
How about we come to Redcliffe?
I used to work in the ED at the hospital there - in fact that's where I met DH!
So I knew it back in 1998 and I'm quite keen to see the new foreshaw and beach area.
Would that suit you better?
We haven't heard from Bouj, I wonder if she's around.

Bouj · 08/10/2006 08:56

Yes am here. juggling a wiggly ds2. am super flexible, ds1 has dropped both gymboree classes and swimming is saturday. happy to meet anywhere! will check in soon, looking forward to meeting you both

eidsvold · 08/10/2006 09:23

Dixie chicks were fab - although I am getting old I was so tired and I made dh leave before it was totally over so we did not get stuck in the traffic getting out of boondall. However when we read the review in the paper the next day we left 1/2 through the last song anyway.

Can't remember where Bouj is coming from.

Redcliffe is about 1/2 hour from me too. Let me think of somewhere else a little this way and perhaps we can meet up there - even a park or something a little this way so we wouldn't travel so far

Is that okay with everyone???

Sorry to be difficult.

other option is to meet up one saturday afternoon minus children - at city botanic gardens for their fab high tea - afternoon tea......?!?!?

OP posts:
eidsvold · 08/10/2006 09:26

or we could go to Redcliffe sat arvo minus children for coffee - just another thought.

OP posts:
flannelettepyjamas · 08/10/2006 23:31

I'm really quite flexible too. Sat afternoons might be ok but depends on whether DH is on call as to whether I would have DD or not.
Hi Bouj, nice to hear from you. Your LO must be getting really quite big now. Looking forward to our meetup too.

Bouj · 10/10/2006 00:12

little one is giant child! Minus children sounds lovely! but more than happy to do a mid week one as well. Will probably leave ds1 with my parents, but bring ds2. Hate to be the person saying 'I'm easy, don't mind', but am easy!

Bouj · 10/10/2006 00:12

Oh, and I am southside

eidsvold · 10/10/2006 03:30

okay can we change it and work towards a sat afternoon perhaps?!?

Sorry for being so difficult - next year dd1 will have more fuller days at kindy and sedu. She would jsut not sit still while I had coffee and chatted so is easier to leave her at kindy or home with dh.

Had a crap couple of days. Dd2 managed to get a pulled elbow yesterday - troop of to royal childrens A & E - doc supposedly fixes it - still in pain this morning and not using it - veryupset. Troop back to A & E - end up seeing top doc on duty and one of the top paed emergency guys - he finally fixes it - wow the change was almost immediate in dd2 - can use her arm- no more crying. Me though - tired and worn out - thankfully no long waits at A & E. But she did not sleep well and dh is still jetlagged so waking early in the morning and disturbing me

Sorry for the moan

OP posts:
eidsvold · 10/10/2006 03:35

sorry meant to say Bouj southside - what about sat city botanic gardens - afternoon tea?!?!?

menu

available after 2pm I think it says.

OP posts:
eidsvold · 10/10/2006 03:36

traditional high tea looks nice - bottom of the page.

OP posts:
Bouj · 10/10/2006 05:19

Oooh yes, lets go for that.

What's a pulled elbow? Exactly what it sounds like? Sounds painful, how did she do that? You've had a rough few weeks! Hopefully all will settle down now for a while. xxx

eidsvold · 10/10/2006 05:47

it is where the forearm bone is pulled out of the joint - very painful - poor wee thing. SHe was being cheeky - climbing onto a chair at the table ( at friends for lunch) and she put her hand out for me to help. As I tried to help her onto the chair she decided to drop back down - only I was still holding her hand.

Apparently very common and easy to do in little ones - things like - they go to run on the road when you are holding their hand and you grab their hand and pull them back or you are walking along and they drop to the ground in a tantrum whilst still holding your hand.

that afternoon tea does look fab doesn't it - bit of relaxation.

fpjs if you have to bring your little one - no big deal if your dh is working.

Hi girls, nice to see you are finally going to be meeting up. I am in Brisbane too but not feeling confident enough to meet up yet and also work Saturday afternoons. That menu looks delicious. Have a great time and perhaps I will be brave enough for the next one.
