Sorry for the random post Justa- I came across that organisation at work and they have some amazing programmes that might be good for your boys. I hope you have recovered from the stressful meeting.

AB - don't keep us in suspense!

Sibble- great news about the school.

Oh there is a hoo ha re the house.
It had been off the market since last year and the agent got it out of his book and said "this is the house for you"
Has a granny flat attached for mum and those things are few and far between!
anyway, the couple ar, erm, a bit, oh I can't be arsed dilly dallying, they're weird, odd, difficult?
We were going to go in low but the agent was like, they won't shift below the price.

Now it's transpired they want the agent to drop his commission because he showed it at last years price and now it's worth $100k more.
So he was going round there later to have huge ding ding with them re this matter.

And now he has lost the effing contract.

I feel like absolute cack, and had to leave my course early (cos I didn't want to hurl in public toilet) and was planning on festering here for the rest of today.
NOW, I have to go into oneroa and sign all the effing contract again, DAMMIT (outraged!)

Congrats AB, yes send a link if there is one

AngryBeaver · 11/09/2013 20:13

No there's no link because it wasn't on the market, sorry!

vvviola · 11/09/2013 20:30

Fantastic AB!!!! Am so thrilled for you.

AngryBeaver · 11/09/2013 23:23

Just hoping the builders report doesn't show anything!it has CLADDING! But apparently just aesthetic ...weatherboard underneath.
Oh, it's luffly! Not a huge living area, but ceiling to floor glass front and north facing with sea view (just a snippet!) huge master bedroom, then downstairs an office, then granny flat, then the room for the boys, and dd & rumpus room& laundry in the basement.
It's cool down there, but dd has an overheating condition...so perfect for her!

Ooooooh, I hope the COC and LIM etc are ok!

Oh, and theres a stream at the bottom of the section, which worries me,(safety & mozzies)
But dh thinks it will be great for watering the vege garden (we are all on water tanks)
Oh hurry up November!

Frikonastick · 11/09/2013 23:51

Oh AB, that sounds perfect. So pleased for you guys. Crossing fingers on the reports.

Well I haven't seen said "stream" yet. It "used" to have crayfish!
Is it dried up now? Is it a muddy bog? Is it stagnant water?
Who knows!
Anyway, probably getting way ahead of myself and the report will come back and say it has untreated timber, ay frick!
Or "a moisture problem" or SOMETHING.

An then I will have to all myself down.
The living area WAS tiny.
The children WERE on different levels, and the basement wasn't cool, it was EFFING FREEZING!
Oh, and that stream? Nightmare!
Grin

AngryBeaver · 12/09/2013 02:44

TALK myself down!

Oh, and I'm not looking forward to seeing my mothers' face hen she walks into her new "space"! All 55m2 of it :-/

Sibble · 12/09/2013 22:33

Although dh and I have sailed and can sail (the dss also belong to a sailing club) I have never been interested in the Americas Cup or sailing in general (I like bobbing about in the sun Grin) The Americas Cup is quite gripping - maybe it's because we are winning!

Ds1 also has been offered a place at Howick College. He is very relieved to be able to leave his existing school and have a choice. I have tried to boost his confidence by telling him he got in on merit.

Sibble · 12/09/2013 22:34

I meant to say I am finding the Americas Cup gripping! It's distracting me from working...

vvviola · 13/09/2013 07:00

God I hate school discos Confused

They seem to be way too frequent and just mean ratty, overexcited and then vaguely disappointed DD1, while I stand around with the other parents trying to make shouted conversation over the music. [scrooge mode off] Wink

Slightly less grumpily... I was talking to DH about the America's Cup today, explaining the finer points of tacking & racing rules to him, when DD2 (with nasty head cold & temperature curled up on my lap) starts parroting back my words: "tack" "upwind" "race". Gave me a right giggle. Think I've found a new crew for my Dad in a few years Wink

giantpenguinmonster · 13/09/2013 09:20

AB- congrats on the house. Hope the building report is okay and you go unconditional soon!

vvviola · 13/09/2013 09:36

Should have guessed. Spent the past half hour cleaning up after DD1 who threw up all over her room just after going the bed. The excitement of the disco, plus sweets & running about like a loon were a bad combination.

That's three lots of vomit in my 2 week uni break. So much for 2 weeks to get ahead of myself on my dissertation. 2 weeks of laundry & scrubbing carpets instead.

I'm honestly not unsympathetic. Just a little weary of the clean up. Confused
