Belgian mumsnetters meetup before kreecher leaves!

We need to organise this a bit in advance so that as many people as possible can come. It doesn't have to be lunch of course - we could make it dinner so that the working mums have more of a chance to come.

Any suggestions?

2nd or 3rd or 9th or 10th of July would be our best bet. DH is away for a fortnight and me and DD will be getting ready to leave Belgium. We are aiming for 1st August. Yikes. So much to organise still.

Aah - I go on holiday on the 2nd of July til 24th. Nothing to stop you organising something then of course, but it won't be at my house Grin. Sorry to throw a spanner in the works.....

Ok, can you make a proposal. It doesn't have to be those dates any weekend or possibly weekday once school has broken up would be fine.

You don't have to revolve round me you know. Wink If it suits you better to meet in July then I will survive (and maybe come round yours on a YYF hunt instead;-)) That doesn't weird or anything does it?

To host a BBQ, I am here all the weekends in June, apart from 11/12th when we will be in UK, but here on the 13th which is a BH Monday. Also happy to meet up for lunch somewhere instead....

I am easy. It is a nightmare picking a date that suits everyone. I am control freak right bossy mare, but wouldn't take offence if the day that suits everyone else is when I am away.

As we seem to have too much in common - big pants, wine and fags - we are bound to hate each other on sight anyhow Grin

Thought I would resurrect this as we are in June already. Shock I can still host something at mine June 13th or 18/19 or 25/26.

Or if July is more suitable that's no problem......we'll just need to find another venue.

I will be away for both of those weekends Porto and on 13th DD has a birthday party to go to. Guess who is driving her there. Not the parent with the testicles.

Dates anyone? I will be free from friday of this week onward. Me and DD have decided to leave Antwerp on July 28th so we need to get our skates on with organising something.
We could have a picnic in a park if other children will be coming. She'd like that.

I'm away for a few days from 1 to 4 July (just with DH :) ) but am then around until after you leave. The first time we all met up we went to Kessel-Lo for a picnic. That was nice.

Right, let's make a firm decision. 11th July it is, venue to be decided. I am more than happy to go to monkeybumsmum's for a picnic as long as she doesn't mind a 47 YO and a gobby 10 YO all at once [we can be a bit much]

Just to confuse things, can we make it the 12th or 13th? If everyone is coming here then it'll allow dh to mow the lawn on the Monday, otherwise it'll be like being in a jungle Grin

OK, I'll fit in with anything. I shouldn't worry about the lawn, I mowed ours yesterday. It takes longer to get the mower out of the cupboard than it does to do the garden.
Porto, I may be back for the odd weekend.

Getting tres excited now. DH is off to Thailand this afternoon so me and DD will drop him at Schipol and have 17 days to fill. Even she is getting bored of the school holidays and she has until September 5th before she starts in England.

Glad I am not the only one woken by thunder and having a hot body in my bed. DH went to Thailand last night and DD thinks it is her duty to sleep with me so I am not lonely.
Is the date the 12th? Me and she will be planning our next fortnight's activities later and I would hate to schedule the picnic when we should be at Efteling or vice versa.

So Belgian schools have broken up. Intersting. Looks like I will have to book a campsite place when she and me go to Dombergh.
