Not really AIBU but can't find the chat option. Any police officers on here who could answer a question for me please? If I wanted to report being repeatedly raped and physically abused by my now exh can I report it just to go on record or would he be arrested straight away? I'm worried about the repercussions if he does get arrested which is why I'm hesitant to report it, but I'm happy for it just to go on file. This happened from 2014-2018 but it's taken until now for me to confide in my Friend about what happened.

You could’ve just asked me to ask MNHQ to put a trigger warning on. Or even just politely said I’ve reported it MNHQ to put a trigger warning on for you. After everything I’ve been through that wasn’t exactly the top of my priorities!! There was absolutely no need to put the for fucks sake on the end of it!!

Just read your updates OP. I dont want to sound patronising at all after all you have been through, but well done. I've not been through anything like you describe and can't imagine how horrible especially with unsupportive family. I would completely understand not reporting this given all the factors, I think you've been amazingly brave. I hope the police support you.

@SailawaygirlThank you. I was a nervous wreck on the day they arrested him, but my amazing Best Friend kept me from going insane whilst waiting for the phone call to let me know what was happening. There is still some more investigations to do so it’s still ongoing at the moment but I will keep updating as and when
