Son remanded into custody

DS (19) was remanded into custody today after court appearance until May 25th. I can’t find anything out. He used his 5 minute phonecall to ring me but was just in a state crying. I don’t know who his solicitor is or whether he will get a psychiatric assessment when he arrives at prison or anything. He’s previously attempted suicide and was detained under mental health act.

I know what he did was awful but he’s my son, he’s very immature for his age and he’s terrified. Any idea what will happen now?? How do I find out who his solicitor is?

What the actual fuck has it got to do with anyone else? The OP could be the mother of Fred West and it wouldn't matter.

SHE needs support. SHE has done nothing wrong.

And I've not seen any minimising of his crime, just a mum not knowing what to do.

That's great news the prison contacted you. Must be a huge relief. Thank god the officer noticed he has autism. They should get him the help he needs. I'm not sure of the ins and outs of prison but I'm sure they'll take good care of him.

His court date is not until May? Look there is a possibility he may not get a custodial sentence. I don't know what he did but is there any way you can contact his landlord to explain things? Or maybe you can pay the rent till he comes home. If you do think he'll get a custodial maybe you can arrange to collect his things and bring them to your home.

Hopefully you get another chance to speak to your son and you can make arrangements with him.

Would where he is do an autism test on him? Or maybe a doctor can say he's not of sound mind? Would this help in any way? If he's unable to explain himself properly it may go against him.
