what would happen if I didnt declare some savings in an application for legal aid? would I get caught? I have already been to 1 solicitor and was turned down because my savings were too much - is this tracable?

That is why placing it into an account in the children's name will have no effect. The money either belongs to her children now, or to her. You're confusing the account holder with the owner.

Gooseberrybushes · 19/04/2011 11:31

Money in my name that I've saved is the same as money in my name given to me. It is seen as my money and no one elses.

Well it's a good job there are lawyers around to explain how wrong people can be.

TheBossofMe · 19/04/2011 11:48

You are contradicting yourself Collaborate, since you were the one that earlier said that the money is her kids money no matter what account its held in. So not such a good job in explaining anything

However, I have no interest in a barney, whereas you seem determined to have one.

Collaborate · 19/04/2011 13:49

No contradiction: "placing it into an account in the children's name will have no effect" is the same as "the money is her kids money no matter what account its held in".

Yes dear.

I have applied for legal aid, and have only been asked about MY savings, so children's savings must be ignored, like when applying for HB/CTB???

My partner and her friend a social worker concocted lies against me accusing of DV and DA to get social housing. Apparently this was the same route the social worker took to get social housing. Heard the social worker came into the UK with a false identity ( can I report this as I am not 100%). My partner got Student loan in 2017 while I was on JSA and I didn't know money wss paid. Now i am accused of frsud bu yhe DWP for seeking help to continue yo put food on the table and roof over our heads. My partner bought land abroad in a pricey locstion of course the social worker signed as witness and also had money in account outside the Uk. Applied for LAA. And i reported same. That tbe assets where not reported during spplication. Ehat is the implication? The value of the land plus saving is almost £35k
