Currently we have almost 5yo DD1, 3 1/2 yo DD2 and almost 1yo DD3, have decided to go for number 4.

There are a hundred reasons to stop at 3 like we need to build an extension, bigger car, SPD in pregnancy, we have no family help so just me and DP, time with each of them, money, money and money.

Only one reason for, both DP and I really want another, we thought our family would be complete with 3 but it doesn't feel like it at all, hate hate hate all the trying for a boy, we do not especially want a boy, chances are we would have DD4 anyway.

I am dreading the pregnancy but would love another little person about the place.

Please come and share you experiences with me, everyone in RL would think I am utterly insane

wow mrs disorganised

we have 6 ( nearly put 7 )

16,14,12,6,3 and almost 1

Its hard - very hard

renovating darn house is the fly in the ointment and 6 has seemed a lot more than 5 tbh

...but you are going from 3-4 ( knew you would!!! )

4 is a doddle and number 4 is my easy one !!

Good luck sk!!

oooggs · 06/07/2009 21:14

We have 4 (3 under 3)

ds1 is 5.5yrs, dd & ds2 are 2.3yrs and ds3 is 5 mths

no. 4 is the easiest baby but after twins that is hardly suprising

We didn't feel complete with 3, didn't like the odd number. This is our lot though and we have just extended to accomodate us all.

sweetkitty · 06/07/2009 21:24

Thanks for all the positive comments I think we are going for it I cannot believe I still feel someone is missing, hopefully after DB4 is here I will feel complete. If I were to get pregnant straight away there would be 21 months between DD3 and DB4 so that would be fine, also DD2 will go to school next August. So looks like DD4 might be on her way (everything crossed), no way it won't be a DD.

MrsSpringsteen - you are Paulayatesbiggestfan/Butterfly aren't you

Lockets - well if you are loving it then it must be fine I cannot believe I am about to do it all again, I will try and enjoy it as this will definitely be our last baby, it's DD3's fault she is just far too gorgeous to be our last.

oooggs - I remember you having the twins and now you have another - wow

MrsSpringsteen · 06/07/2009 21:28

how exciting sk!!

You might enjoy it more knowing its (probably!!!) your last!

walkingwomb · 06/07/2009 21:35

How old were you when you had your first? I am only on my second, but we are having a small age gap (17 months) as i am 31 and want to be able to cram another one or two in before my late 30s.

Cesario · 06/07/2009 21:36

mine are 15,13,12,10

We love it although it is bloody expensive
they get on well so it their mates are not around they have each other. Any combination works too.

Cesario · 06/07/2009 21:39

number 4 is fabulous and takes care of herslef and her brothers

sweetkitty · 06/07/2009 21:39

I was a few weeks shy of 29 when I ahd my first, trying to squeeze one last one in before I hit 35 nest year

MrsSpringsteen - I will hate every minute of the pregnancy, it's the SPD and having 3 others to look after but you know what I am not going to let it stop me having another, I know it will go once the baby is here and they are so worth it.

MrsSpringsteen · 06/07/2009 21:43

i empathise! I just love having energy again and being thin !

i had spd with dc 5 and could not walk but NONE with dc6 . be very very careful from now on - no cartwheels

4andnotout · 06/07/2009 21:59

I was 19 when i had my first and i was 26 when i had dd4, i want to be finished before im 30 so dc5 had better hurry up Dp is 18 years older than me and said he doesn't want to be mistaken for granddad rather than dad (Although my dad is only 11 months older than dp)

gardeningmum05 · 07/07/2009 10:10

misdisorganised, we had to alter our house too when no4 was due.
we converted our garage into a bedroom for ds1 and the carport become the garage, and we put another bathroom in downstairs.
luckily we have a big garden, and i love to hear them all outside laughing, makes all the hard work worth while.
i find 4 a doddle, and i work as well ,and my dp works long hours. we have no family support around us and i feel privilaged and proud of my family.
go for it kitty
i was 28 when i had my 1st and o coming up to the big 4o

oooggs · 07/07/2009 20:21

I was 2 weeks off 30 when I had my first and a month past 35 when dc4 arrived

Like someone very kindly pointed out last week, I went from 1 child to 4 in under 2 years

Scorps · 07/07/2009 20:23

I was 17 when i had dc1, i'm now 24 and 16 weeks with dc4. This is my last though, so DH says. Fair enough

oh kitty go for it...ok so dd3 is only 3wks but so far it is fine.
I loveeeeeeeeeeee it!!
I found out day after DS turned 5 that I was pg and the gap has workd fine. Ds is in school, dd1[3.6yrs] starts nursery in sept and dd2[2.6yrs] adores her baby sister and the fact she is no longer the baby!!
We have a small 3 bed semi and a vauxhall zafira. Car we will change in a few years but for the next 2/3yrs it is fine.

Thanks Nemo and Lockets, it's stories from you guys that make me want to go for it

Nemo - how is DD3? Was looking at a Zafira, we have a CMAX just now but will need more seats, would love a Sharan or something but £££s, we will have to sort this house out at some point, it's strange downstairs is quite big but it's let down by the size of the bedrooms, DD1 and 2 share a smallish room with bunks, DD3 will have the tiny box room. Luckily it's deatached and already has 3 toilets so thats ok, just need to find money to extend.

lockets and SK
dd3 is a delight, she is by far the most laid back mellow and pleasant baby out the bunch so far The 'big' 3 absolutely adore her!!

SK house sounds great you have 2 more loos than we do and must admit that is the only nightmare we have..the queues at 7am are fun but our plan is to expand into loft with ensuite just for dh and I to hide

Lockets definetly although dh is a big enough kid for ds to not feel that outnumbered as yet..plus they are conspiring about a man only shed to go with the man draw..pmsl

I have 4 boys 9,8 6 and 4. DS4 has SN just to add to the mayhem. They are all lovely but the noise, mess and wshing gets a but much at times.

I still have moments of total madness when I would quite like another

sweetkitty · 07/07/2009 22:41

I think DH would secretly love a boy can you imagine a house of 5 girls? I think he wants someone to appreciate Star Wars as much as he does although DD2 is more of a boy than most boys I know. He is already eyeing up a shed.

Nemo - loft extension/hide out sounds fab
