How big is your house and where do all your children sleep?

Recently found out we're pregnant with number 4, bit of a surprise and tbh we're not entirely sure what to do
The biggest issue being space

We live in a 3 bed, atm the eldest 2 have their own rooms and the baby is still in with us, we may have to get an extension just to give the baby a bedroom so no idea where we would put a 4th
How do you all work it with multiple children? Do you all live in mansions?

We have 3 beds, 4 children and 2 adults.
The 3 little ones (4,5&7) share the biggest room, me and oh the middle size room and the teen in the box room

We had 4 under 6 and a small 3 bed. The 3rd bedroom was about 6ft x 7ft. We moved into the middle sized room, DC1 (only girl) had the little tiny room and the 3 boys had bunkbeds in the largest room.

We moved when they were 11/9/7/5 to a larger house. DD1 and DS1 had a room each and the younger 2 shared, until DD went to university (then we had DD2 but that's a whole different story).

Hi, we live in a 3 bed and have 3 dcs. Two close in age and the little one is 4yrs. They all sleep in the same room - bunk beds and a single and that is pretty much all that is in there. Then we use the 3rd room as their playroom. It works really well, they have their own space so the living room is no longer full of toys and their bedroom is (in theory) a restful space so they fall asleep quickly. Congrats on your news op!

1 bedroom. 2 adults and 2 children. We all share.

5-bed house.
DP and I share, toddlers a room each, teenager his own. One spare room.

4 children; 2 share a bedroom, eldest has her own and baby is in with us. Hoping to convert our garage into 2 bedrooms so they'll all eventually have their own room when time and finances allow but it seems to be a long way off.

Oh and 3 bed house 😁

Current youngest has middle sized room and will share with new baby when he arrives

21year old own room

Me and oh (share- well he hogs most of the bed)
12,7shared and 2year old had own room but 15year old decided to move full time from dad's so toddler going in with 12+7year old.
16 year old occasional sleeper on sofa bed on huge landing on third floor!!
3dogs share the utility room!!
Snake has own tank.
Bearded dragon has own vivarium.

4 bedrooms and 3 dc with no.4 on the way.

Eldest has his own single room , other two share and they wouldn't be on their own anyway! They even share a bed (and leave the second one empty)

Baby will be with me and DH for maybe 1-2 years + and the fourth bedroom is a study/guest room.

Hmm some of your 3 bed houses sound much bigger than mine
There's no way we would fit 3 DC in one room
And the PP who has the smallest room?! Our smallest room doesn't even fit a full size single bed in! If I lay on the floor (when the room is empty) and starfish, I can touch all 4 walls with my 4 limbs, so absolutely no way grown ups could go in there - they had a cheek posting this room as a bedroom tbh!

Our room contains

Small double bed, a wardrobe (2 door) and chest of drawers oh and the narrowest bedside tables ever

There is very very little floor space

5 bedroom house, DH and I in one, dd in another, ds in another, 1 spare/guest room and new baby will eventually have last room X

3-bed house but the master is 3m x 4m. About to put 7yo and 1yo together in master bedroom, DH and I in second double, leaving the small single room as an office.

Ultimately we'll either do a loft conversion or one DC will be in the small room, one in the second double and DH and I will be back in the master bedroom.

We have the reverse problem. Six bedrooms and two dc, but after years of heartbreak and five pgs including a baby who didn't make it, I'd swap in a heartbeat.

Five bed house, four dc each have their own room and me and dp have the other. I'm an only child and really value my own space. I would love a 5th dc but wouldn't do it if it meant kids sharing a room I would have hated sharing a bedroom especially as a teen.

We have 4 dc's ( 17, 15. 13 and 11) and a 4 bed house but we have made our downstairs fromt room into a bedroom for our eldest (17yrs) so that they all have their own room. Life is so much more harmonious since they have all had their own space. They used to share when they were younger but as they get older I think they need their own space more.

Koala - no. Why would everyone wake each other up? They are sleeping. If anyone wakes early before others they go into living area and do something. Why would privacy be an issue? It's it's private, there's only our family living here, we have a front door. And we have seperate large living area with kitchen and separate bathrooms. If we had two bedrooms the doors would all be kept wide open anyway

We have a 4 bed house and 1 DC but he still insists on sleeping with us almost every night. Sleeping arrangements wouldn't be much different in a 1 bed house.

Art how old are your children? Mine would def wake each other up?

I have seven in a four bed. Ds2 baby is in with dh and myself. Dd 1 has her own room , dd4 &5 (twins) share with dd3 , ds 1 and dd 2 share (however dd 2 either goes to bed once ds1 is already asleep or she sleeps on a camp bed in playroom until she wakes up for a wee then gets in her own bed.) ds1 is only 3 so no issue with sharing opposite sex.
Our sleeping arrangements may seem a bit unusual but we have dc with Asd so these are the bedroom arrangements that everyone is happy with.

Ds2 will soon go in with ds1 and dd2 , the room could easily fit three or four do. We will probably partition it when we get round to it.
