Hello all, I’d like to join you all too. We’ll be transferring our 4th and final embryo from our first IVF cycle. The first three FETs were May 2025, August 2025 and December 2025 (all BFNs- never seen a positive test in 3 years of ttc). We’ve done some additional tests and taken a bit of a break so far in 2026, this cycle will be unmedicated with some extra meds so hoping that does the trick.

@mumtrovert I think we were transfer buddies sometime last year- sorry that we’re both still here but hoping it’s 4th embryo lucky for us both, and @jenk91 too!

@roamingcat I was on holiday in Italy last week and enjoyed a few spritzes! For me it’s important to still feel like I can still enjoy life (life being IVF-dominated was really getting me down a few months ago) and I’m also only an occasional drinker.

@SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite progynova made me lose the plot too! I’ve done three medicated FETs and the symptoms were different each time but on two transfers I felt completely miserable and irritable- crying lots and picking fights with my poor husband which is not usual behaviour for me! One transfer I also had awful headaches for the first week or so, and the other I had terrible GI symptoms. You have my sympathy, those little pills were no fun at all! How many are you on per day? Check with your clinic but you can play around with dose times and see if that helps- I read about people online taking them all before bedtime to sleep through the side effects. When I had bad GI symptoms I changed the dose timings on clinic advice to coincide with my biggest meals.

mumtrovert · 26/05/2026 09:50

@Blueskycat hello again!! 🫶🏼 I saw your username and immediately remembered you too. I’m so sorry we’re both still here doing this again and on our final embryos. I’m really keeping everything crossed for us both this time. When are you expecting AF?

@SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite hiya! Sounds like you’ll be the first one to transfer on here. Wishing you all the luck. I had Everol (estrogen) patches for my FETs and they definitely made me very impatient and very snappy. I think that mellowed out when I started the progesterone or I just got used to it! 🙈

Blueskycat · 26/05/2026 10:55

@mumtrovert ahh it feels a little less lonely seeing a familiar face. Yes ditto will have everything crossed for you too! I’m due on Thursday, how about you?

@SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite yes I was also much better once progesterone was added back in. Hoping you’re feeling a bit better soon.

mumtrovert · 26/05/2026 11:29

Also forgot to reply @CMGC 9 viable embryos is an amazing number! I’m sure your BFP won’t take long.

@Blueskycat I actually managed to track my ovulation this month so I know I should be due around Saturday, give or take a couple of days. So not too far away from eachother again! I hope your natural cycle is the answer for you. We had a failed medicated transfer in January, our first BFN after 1 chemical and 1 MMC. I wanted to try a natural cycle in February but ended up having a 49 day cycle. Then the cycle after that was 37 days.. so I’ve stuck to another medicated one as the clinic said I reacted well to it last time and as they only offer completely natural protocols, (I don’t know why!) there’s too many unknowns. It’s so hard in this process to know if you’re making the right decision or not. That’s what I’ve found the hardest thing tbh, not knowing if I’ve just been unlucky or if I should be trying something else.

InWithPeaceOutWithStress · 26/05/2026 15:27

Hi - my first FET transfer is scheduled for June 1st so think this is the right thread for me?

I’m doing a natural cycle. Had my ultrasound scan yesterday (day 12) and everything looked ok so injected the HCG trigger and will start prometrium tomorrow.

I have 5 untested embryos to work with, my fresh transfer failed.

SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite · 26/05/2026 20:23

@InWithPeaceOutWithStressI’m right after you on 2nd June with my first frozen FET (and first transfer).

The clinic just sent me through more information on the transfer. My clinic says do an at home test on day 10 post transfer: if it’s positive come in for a blood test, if it’s negative test again in 48 hours. I had told myself I wasn’t going to test early but my test day will be 12 June. I’ve got a busy day followed by a wedding weekend (both days) where I’m maid of honour. So I think actually testing earlier may help buffer the blow a bit if it looks like it’s going to be a negative and give me more time to process. I was thinking to start 7 days post transfer but maybe that is too early? Perhaps I’m better off waiting for 9 days post transfer and at least that will give me an extra day. Even as I type that I’m thinking maybe I’m better just waiting for day 10 🤦🏻‍♀️

InWithPeaceOutWithStress · 26/05/2026 21:51

@SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite after my fresh transfer my clinic told me to take a pregnancy test 13 days past transfer and wouldn’t accept my report of a negative test until then, I found this ridiculous!

I don’t think 7 days post transfer is too early, barring the risk of the HCG trigger injection still being in your system. If successful the majority of women would have a positive test by 7dp5dt (12 days past ovulation). Of course if negative, there’s a glimmer of hope that maybe it’s too early which keeps you testing and hanging on, as it’s too early to know for certain…

Factoring in your emotional response is a good idea. I had a very low mood following my fresh transfer and seeing the negative results each day. Giving yourself a couple of days buffer seems sensible. Fingers crossed it’s positive and you might want a couple days buffer for that result too!

mumtrovert · 27/05/2026 08:32

Hi @InWithPeaceOutWithStress glad everything went well with your scan & good luck for your transfer!

@SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite I think you’d have a definitive answer at 9dp5dt. At least you’d know for the wedding if you wanted to drown your sorrows or not, but hopefully it won’t come to that! I also have a wedding next month which I’m a bridesmaid for, but I think with timings etc I’ll end up being about 3dpt or something. I usually start testing from 7dpt but I don’t know if I want to test later this time and keep hold of that hope for longer.. but I’m sure that’ll all go out the window 😅

Blueskycat · 27/05/2026 09:06

@SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite I agree that it’s good to test on a day where you have some space to process the result. First time round I was surprised at how hard the negative test result hit me, had to call in sick at work. Hopefully you get a lovely BFP of course, but that’s a lot to process too! I’m a test avoider (prefer to live in denial/hope 🙃) so not the person to advise on early testing…

@mumtrovert totally agree that it’s so hard not knowing whether lack of success is just bad luck or if something needs to change. Sounds like your clinic are confident in your protocol and good that you have a bit more certainty on timings now, those long cycles must have been frustrating! There is enough uncertainty in this journey as it is…

Good luck with your transfers @SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite and @InWithPeaceOutWithStress ✨✨

roamingcat · 27/05/2026 19:49

@CMGC @Moosey898 @mumtrovert @Blueskycat
Thank you for the good luck and the reassurance on the alcohol everyone. We're back in the UK now so that's it with alcohol until we're through the other side, but it was lovely to have a few glasses and join in with the celebrations whilst we were away.

My protocol starts with Norethisterone so I've got a while to go until stims start, but we had our clinic appointment yesterday and are now booked in for our first scan and have a rough idea of how everything will look. Slightly unexpectedly they've said that due to my AMH level (19.4) they think we should prepare for a frozen transfer as fresh is unlikely. I wasn't expecting this as I didn't think mine was particularly high and I don't have PCOS and I'm slightly sad about the extended timescales. But I guess it's better to find this out now rather than later down the line.

This might be a silly question but do we need to use protection for the fertile window whilst I'm on Noresthisterone? The clinics notes just say to use protection "during treatment" and I'm not sure if this part counts? Although it is very unlikely we would conceive but it feels like it's worth double checking...

Good luck to everyone with the transfers due to happen shortly.

TheBreezyKoala · 27/05/2026 21:59

Hi @PlanBFertility26 , hope it's ok to join and I'm not too late! Currently in the tww post FET transfer yesterday. Forgot how long the days are post transfer! Thankfully our first transfer resulted in our baby boy so we're feeling so lucky to have him, however the fact he was so straightforward and everything seemed to go so perfectly that time, I'm feeling the pressure for this transfer to succeed also! First transfer was 5AB embryo, this transfer was 4AB embryo. Unsure what significance this will be but really really hoping we get to meet this little one! Best of luck to everyone hope you're all holding up!

Blueskycat · 28/05/2026 08:02

@roamingcat we were advised to use protection for the norethisterone part of treatment. Glad your treatment plan is becoming clearer and hope you’re not too disappointed about the freeze all cycle. Ours was an unexpected freeze all- I was disappointed but in hindsight was good to give my body a break after stims.

@TheBreezyKoala welcome and good luck with the waiting! Hoping it’s another successful transfer for you 💕

mumtrovert · 28/05/2026 12:22

@TheBreezyKoala ah that’s still a great grade embryo. Fingers crossed for your same luck as last time. Do you have a plan for when you’ll test?

Moosey898 · 28/05/2026 14:06

Day 3 of stims today for me. Anyone want to play the guessing game of how many follicles I'll get at my first scan this time? Cycle 1 was 14, cycle 2 was 22.

But I did have priming this time which might slow down my response....I'm going to guess around 14 again. My scan is day 8 x

PlanBFertility26 · 28/05/2026 14:22

@TheBreezyKoala good Luck. The TWW is torture!

I’m on CD 2 and starting pergoveris 50IU tonight for my FET of day 5 4AB euploid.

@Moosey898 I’m going to guess 17!

@PlanBFertility26 the very best of luck with your preparation! When is your first scan scheduled for? Exciting and apprehensive times!

TheBreezyKoala · 28/05/2026 17:12

@mumtrovert thanks a mill! With our first I somehow managed to wait the full two weeks so aiming for the same but unsure how realistic that is I'm already symptom spotting 🙈 how are you keeping are you mid cycle? Trying to catch up!

PlanBFertility26 · 28/05/2026 17:27

@TheBreezyKoala on the 3rd June. This will be my 8th cycle of IVF (4th transfer) and all I’ve got to show for it is a miscarriage and a lot of heartache and debt. Not holding out much hope x

TheBreezyKoala · 28/05/2026 18:42

@PlanBFertility26 oh Gosh it's just horrendous. We were trying every option for 4 years before we started IVF. I remember the depths of despair. I think it honestly changes us as people, I can't imagine the journey you're on as our 4 years felt like a big giant horror show until we had our baby. I really hope this works out and makes all those tough and painful years worth it for you. I'm not sure if you follow the pasinis online via Instagram/YouTube but they are a truly inspiring couple following them helped me so much down through the years. All of the odds were against them for I think approx 7 years but they never gave up and now have DS. Anything is possible, every thing crossed for you🤞🤞

jenk91 · 28/05/2026 20:32

Hi everyone! I’ve started on provera today, baseline scan on Tuesday, still feel a while away yet but glad to get started finally! Hope everyone is doing ok ☺️
@PlanBFertility26 im sorry you’ve had such a tough journey, hoping this will be the magic one for you!

SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite · 28/05/2026 20:34

@TheBreezyKoalawelcome and I’m hoping this is another successful transfer for you 💫. I completely agree, I found the Pasinis on Instagram in a low moment and it really made me feel like if they can keep going then so can I. @PlanBFertility26I hope this is your cycle 💫🤗.

@Moosey898I’m trying to figure out what the next number would be in the series if this was a GCSE maths question 😂. +8 again? If only IVF was as predictable as maths! Why might the priming result in a lower number?

I started the progesterone today and feel so much more myself. A bit sluggish maybe, but at least I’m no longer a woman on the edge!

Sunnydaysahead1 · 28/05/2026 21:25

Hi everyone, I hope it’s ok I join? I’ve been hesitant to join as I wasn’t sure if my FET would go ahead as I’ve had some issues with my lining and an unexpected growing follicle, but my lining is finally there and my FET is booked for next Tuesday. It’ll be my 6th transfer after 4 bfns and a missed miscarriage in March, so I’m pretty desperate for this transfer to work 😅

I also wanted to ask, is anyone else using Lubion injections for progesterone? I’ve only used cyclogest pessaries before, and I did my first Lubion injection this morning and it was so painful! I got a big lump and it’s still feeling sore - is this normal?

Wishing everyone in this group all the best of luck with your transfers!

Haha if only it were a nice neat pattern!

So priming might mean my number is a bit lower because it suppresses growth to begin with, may not but who knows! Only a few more days to wait and see haha.

SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite · 28/05/2026 21:42

@Sunnydaysahead1welcome and I hope this is your cycle 💫. So sorry for everything you’ve been through to get here

So we are both booked in for our transfers on Tuesday!

And I also started on Lubion this morning and was googling the bruising by this evening 😂. I got a big dark bruise and a bump from just the first injection and it’s sore. I’ve also got a bruise from the second one I did this evening and it’s a little sore but so far doesn’t seem as bad. I will run out of tummy fast though at this rate. Despite the bruising it’s a relief to be no longer just taking oestrogen, it really messed with my mood. I hope you were ok!

TheBreezyKoala · 28/05/2026 22:16

@SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite @Sunnydaysahead1 hi there! I'm unfamiliar with your specific injections but im taking progesterone in oil into the muscle (IM Injection). Things that I found helped with the injections - I draw it up and have it ready to go about 15 mins beforehand and then heat it up (in my bra) before injecting, I also ice the area thats going to be injected for 2/3 mins beforehand. Hope it might help, the nurse in the clinic also said applying arnica cream to the area might help with bruising I haven't used that before though. I'm very hopeful to be doing these shots for another 11 weeks!! 🤞🤞
