IVF Feb 2026

Hi everyone - just thought I'd start a thread for anyone going through IVF in February.

We're not 100% confirmed yet (GP missed off a blood test so we're rushing to the clinic tomorrow to get it done, so frustrating!) but all being well we'll be starting stims at the start of Feb for our first cycle.

We've had a horrid TTC journey to this point and it's definitely hard to imagine it working, but we had to try. We're having PGT-SR as I have not one but 2 translocations (balanced and robertsonian) so at the very least IVF gives us the best chance of reducing our miscarriage risk.

Hope everyone else is doing well, would love to hear any tips from those who have been through it before and particularly those who have done PGT or had FET.

The delays and changes of plan are just devastating (still grappling with mine), time feels unbearably slow. Be extra gentle with yourself 💕

Had day 10 scan today. One folicle up ahead and 3 mid way and 3 too small. Decided we continue with stims over weekend to try get those 3 mid size over the line. Probably losing the big one in the meantime. And unlikely the 3 small ones would catch up. Already such a numbers game. Highly unlikely we make it to a transfer with 3 folicles. Sigh.

P.S. Does anyone else feel like a scientist by this point 🙈

This really made me laugh 🤣. It’s when I start talking about it to people who aren’t doing IVF and I see their confused blank expressions. Also I’m terrible for doing additional research kidding myself that somehow makes me more in control of the situation… definitely makes me feel like a mad scientist, not just a scientist 🤣.

I’m really sorry things aren’t progressing as you hoped so far but really hoping your 3 smaller follicles respond well over the weekend and you make it to a transfer 💫. Each step of this is so unbelievably tough. I hope you aren’t feeling too rough on the medication in the meantime.

I’m suddenly feeling more accepting about the postponement, maybe because my hormones are coming back to normal. My husband pointed out that May is only 8 weeks away which I hadn’t appreciated.

I’m now new cycle day 1 after 2 BFNs on the clinic tests on day 11 and 13 p5dt last week with a positive line on a Clear Blue on day 12 in between, which obviously got my hopes up, (I know so can’t blame anyone but myself there) but clinic have told me not to use them as they are super sensitive and can pick up traces of other things that show as a positive when it’s not. It’s just a wild ride isn’t it.

I weirdly feel better now my period has fully arrived as feel I can accept it. There’s always a tiny doubt (what if the tests are wrong/later implantation/etc/etc 🤯) until it comes for me. Weird, I know.

Starting again in April with a FET. Feel lucky that we have a couple to try with. Just need to weigh up doing a natural or medicated cycle. I am going to track ovulation this month and go from there, but might post a different thread asking for pros and cons on experiences. I just feel I want a break from thinking about it for a few days - if that’s even possible.

Anyway, that’s my unfortunate update.

Sorry to hear you aren’t where you wanted to ideally be @HM2024 but hopefully Monday will bring you some better news. Will have everything crossed for you!

@SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite I joked with my friend that I was at least qualified enough to start a podcast by this point!

I'm actually feeling so fine with all the meds which is weird, no? I had a bit of bloating maybe days 9/10 but not much. Really thought I'd be a bloated, hormonal wreck by now (day 11). I wonder if it's because not much is actually happening.

Also, scan yesterday the doctor couldn't find one of my ovaries which seemed odd (it was there 3 days before!). He called another doctor into help and she tracked it down 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

I have kind of resigned myself to this not working and no transfer. We are only doing this once so if it doesn't work, it means closing this very shitty chapter we have been stuck in for 2+ years. I was very unhopeful going into IVF (nearly 40, not good AMH result) but wanted to say I'd tried before moving on. We are so lucky to have a 4 yr old daughter. I am sad that we can't give her a sibling but trying to see the perks.

@SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite Glad you're feeling a bit better. Nice to think that May weather is only 8 weeks away too!

@TTCbaby2xox Sorry to hear that you're at the start of a new cycle and it didn't work. Totally get the 'what if....' until your period actually arrives.

Had another scan today (day 13 of stims) and things looking a bit more positive than they were on Friday. Instead of 3 folicles, it looks like 5 or 6. Booked for EC on Wed and just done trigger shot.

Feels weird saying that after I've been browsing these forums for years with chat of people doing stims/triggers. And here we are..

Got 4 eggs so will see what happens in the coming days. Not a great starting point but more than I expected a week ago.

Hello. I hope it's okay if i join late? I'm 42. We had an egg collection last week - a whole 2 eggs.... But suprisingly, one turned into an embryo and made it to 5dt (graded 5aa - hoping this is a good sign) on Monday. I've stupidly started testing my trigger out, even tho i'm still only 2dpt. Anyway - good luck to everyone still in for this round, and for those taking time, and thinking about next steps - also good luck!

I got 7 and was devastated at the time. Ended up with 5 embryos to send for PGT so you never know, might end up with a few. Will be keeping everything crossed for you, let us know how you get on x

Only 1 of the 4 has fertilised 😔
Keep telling myself to keep my hopes low at every point but that news was a blow. I'd been told they expect 50-60% to fertilise.

@HM2024 Yes - you never know. The old cliche of it only takes one good egg! Fingers crossed for you!

@HM2024 sorry - I posted before I’d seen your recent post. Sorry only one made it. I know how disappointing that is, so feel for you….. It is still 1 more than 0 (and my cliche still stands!). Wishing you all the luck!

I’ve been continually testing (it is an affliction!). Today I’m 4dp, and it is very very white. Not a hint. So, comparing it to previous positives I’ve had, I feel like I’m out. Had 2 positives last year from FETS (both ended for various reasons), so feel like my luck of getting positive tests has run out! May get oh to hide tests from me….
How is everyone getting on?
IVF is a wild ride of hope/ despair / insanity. If I’m truly out this time, I’m going to go and boil myself in a spa for the day. (Can’t do that if you’re PG!).

It's definitely too early to count yourself out @Evi83, even if previous ones showed positive that early (I'm sorry for your loss!!). But I second having a list of pregnancy unfriendly things ready to go, mine included sushi, gardening, exceptionally hot showers and a holiday 😄

It’s only 1 but it’s still 1. It was around 25% of mine that fertilised and I got to day 5 so everything crossed for you too.

She said they would call back on Saturday. This evening's over thinking is: Would she have called today if it hasn't made it or wait until tomorrow either way? Is no news good news?

Hello! Just came across this thread as I was looking for a TWW wait thread and saw this message. I’m responding as this exact thing happened to me before Christmas and I was crushed (NHS funded so we had to cancel to preserve the funding). I have high AMH and AFC so also risk of OHSS so was put on the lowest dose and literally had 1 follicle! To give you a bit of hope - we’ve just done our second go they doubled my dose and titrated me down after 3 days to manage OHSS. We got 15 eggs, 11 mature and 7 fertilised. We ended up with 5 high graded blasts and proceeded to a fresh transfer (as no signs of OHSS) so I have everything crossed for you. 🥰 now in the TWW and feel like time is going backwards!
