IVF Feb 2026

Hi everyone - just thought I'd start a thread for anyone going through IVF in February.

We're not 100% confirmed yet (GP missed off a blood test so we're rushing to the clinic tomorrow to get it done, so frustrating!) but all being well we'll be starting stims at the start of Feb for our first cycle.

We've had a horrid TTC journey to this point and it's definitely hard to imagine it working, but we had to try. We're having PGT-SR as I have not one but 2 translocations (balanced and robertsonian) so at the very least IVF gives us the best chance of reducing our miscarriage risk.

Hope everyone else is doing well, would love to hear any tips from those who have been through it before and particularly those who have done PGT or had FET.

I had both of those too. I found alternating sides of the lower tummy for the ovaleap (I was told to do mine in the morning), then did the fyremadel in alternate thighs each evening, made it somewhat manageable. My partner did them though thankfully and I didn’t like to look. Just a deep breath out when he said it was going in. The nurse at the clinic did say that the fyremadel would be harder as it’s a thicker needle but just to do go in a bit harder - easier said than done!!
I’m not sure why I seemed to be on opposing times of day for each jab than everyone else seems to be - and what one of the instruction leaflets suggested - but I just followed what I was told.
hope you find it gets slightly easier 🙏🏻

I got my mum to do it today, she walks my dog with hers so she did it for me when she came to pick him up (she’s a nurse) and I think removing the psychological side of me doing if made it way easier!

I had my scan and they can see 8, but he couldn’t get a good look at my left ovary, they all seemed to be a good similar size so no changes to protocol and we rescan on Friday, if it’s all good we will retrieve them on Monday

FairislePatterned · 16/02/2026 18:03

@Moosey898
I’m sorry you’re feeling disappointed. I had eight eggs retrieved and was quite disappointed and worried too. I wasn’t updated as to the progress up until transfer day but two made it- one transferred and one frozen, which felt like a miracle. I know it’s so individual and up to chance but just thought I’d share as I feel like I was in your shoes a week or so back. Keeping everything crossed for you.

SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite · 16/02/2026 18:35

@Moosey898 I’m really sorry you’re disappointed 🤗💕. And echoing @Vil that the big numbers don’t mean anything. Also my clinic told me that they aim to collect between 8-15 eggs as that range is still considered a good enough result without the increased medical risks that can be linked to higher retrieval numbers. So you really aren’t far off that range at all.

It all comes down to quality and you still have a real chance with 7, I’m rooting for your eggs and for good news for you over the next few days 💫💫💫

Moosey898 · 16/02/2026 19:58

Thanks both - I think because I had 14 follicles on my baseline, have got pregnant 5 times before and need more chances at euploid embryos because of my chromosome translocations, it feels worse than it otherwise would. This gives us about a 7% chance of getting 1 euploid embryo from this round so it's not great.

Sorry to read your disappointed with your results @Moosey898 Sending lots of luck for keeping those numbers up over the next few days 🙏🙏

SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite · 16/02/2026 22:03

I’m really sorry @Moosey898 that must feel like a heavy set of odds to be up against. Wishing your little eggs and you all the best of luck for the next few days 💕

Moosey898 · 17/02/2026 10:42

Thanks @SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite and @HM2024

Just found out 6 of the 7 have fertilized so that's good news. Trying to let myself take that as a win today, and reset for our next update on Thursday x

That is great news @Moosey898keeping everything crossed for you for Thursday.

SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite · 17/02/2026 18:02

Great news @Moosey898 ! I hope it continues 🙏🏻.

I am feeling slightly stressed. It’s day 8 of my oestrogen for my embryo transfer and today I not only have very strong cramps that started earlier but still quite a heavy period ongoing. A nurse from the clinic just called me to say that my baseline scan tomorrow to check my womb lining will now be with a nurse and not a consultant. She said it would be either herself or another nurse.

I then asked about the cramping and bleeding and she said it wouldn’t be caused by the oestrogen, then couldn’t name a single side effect of what the oestrogen causes when I asked what the normal side effects are. “I don’t think it would be your retrieval as that was November.” Yes of course! But perhaps the huge amount of oestrogen I’m taking may have side effects?

Checking the protocol it looks like I possibly only have one scan before the transfer, the one tomorrow. Will try to push them to raise it with a consultant but I do find the way in which the nurses communicate advice slightly stressful. I find they tend to make blanket statements / directions and then can’t really give any medical reasoning behind it when you ask why

I got home from work today after having the most awful cramps and mood swings and decided to test as I felt so much like I was going to come on my AF.

But I have got my BFP 💗💗 clear as anything n and within a minute. So overjoyed and feeling extremely blessed and humble right now

Wishing you all the best I’m rooting for you all 💗❤️

@Moosey898 Great news for 6 yesterday 🙏 for tomorrow

@SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite Hope your baseline scan goes well today and you get some answers.

At last! I have started stims today after another scan to confirm my lining is looking good.

Moosey898 · 18/02/2026 13:32

@HM2024 yay for a good scan and starting stims! If it works out, will you be doing a fresh transfer this cycle?

TW…

I’ve had a bit of a wild ride today!

On my scan: my womb lining was thickening but then they also could see a corpus luteum and wanted to make sure I hadn’t ovulated early. As well as the now 9 day period and cramping, I had a strange surge in libido yesterday which could have been it.

They did a progesterone test to make sure I hadn’t ovulated, and called me back this afternoon to say it’s at 21. They said above 5 they have to postpone a transfer. The consultant suggested I was either pregnant or I ovulated early. I explained that I had done a pregnancy test before I started the medication and have had a now 9 day heavy ish period (which also arrived on time) so I didn’t think I could be pregnant.

The clinic then added in an HCG test to my bloods I did earlier, called me back this evening. It was 183! I’m going back for another HCG blood test on Friday to make sure it’s increased again. They told me to start taking progesterone straight away which luckily I had already at home from my IVF stash.

I’m honestly so shocked! Delighted I have a positive test as I’ve never managed one before, so my surgery must have worked and will take that as a win whatever the outcome. I’m keeping my expectations low though as I have had what has been like a normal flow bleeding now for 9 days - I assumed it was the medication 🤦🏻‍♀️. Luckily the oestrogen I’d been taking isn’t harmful (!).

I can’t believe I didn’t know I was pregnant but I literally took a test which was negative (first response) and my period arrived on the dot, no giveaways or anything unusual other than it being slightly increased from the usual 7 days…

SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite · 18/02/2026 21:22

@HM2024 congratulations on starting stims, I hope it goes well 💫

HM2024 · 19/02/2026 08:18

Massive congrats @SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite ! What a rollercoaster of a day!! 🎢

TTCbaby2xox · 19/02/2026 20:38

I hope you got some good news today @Moosey898

I'm finding this TWW agonising. Feels like I should be testing tomorrow and just counted and it’s been 5 days. Feeling impatient today.

How’s everyone else doing?

Moosey898 · 19/02/2026 21:12

@TTCbaby2xox 5 of my 6 have 6 cells today which is where they would want them to be. The 6th is still growing but slower so they don't expect it'll make it.
Now to wait for day 5 update...if we get 3 embryos to send off for PGT that would be an amazing outcome but I'll take any x

OP posts:
Vil · 19/02/2026 21:19

Awww @TTCbaby2xox the wait is sooooo hard, try to resist! When are you planning on testing?

that’s a great result so far fingers crossed it continues @Moosey898

Wednesday and Friday are the days I’ve been given. So less than a week now until the first one but still feels far.

@Moosey898 thats really good news. Hope you get the three at least on Day 5!
how are you feeling?

Im at the guessing every feeling/symptom stage, wondering if its “something” or just an effect of the progesterone- trying not to but it’s easier said than done isn’t it

Vil · 19/02/2026 22:41

@TTCbaby2xox I wrote everything down and that helped me manage in my brain and I noted whether I was sure it was something or whether it was too mild. Hope time speeds up for you !

SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite · 20/02/2026 21:49

@Moosey898 so pleased for your updates! 💫 . And @TTCbaby2xox I really feel for you I would be climbing up the walls.

Ugh I had a rubbish update today. HCG has gone from 183 to 32. Very frustrating, my first positive pregnancy test and it arrives just in time and long enough to derail my IVF. I can’t give it another go realistically until May because we’re travelling a lot in March and April. Can’t cancel April plans (family weddings) and while I could cancel March plans, I figure it will be stressful wanting my cycle to normalise again quickly so I can get everything sorted before we leave in April. The clinic said I could do an embryo transfer at the start of my next true period, unless that starts in the next two weeks in which case they prefer to wait a whole cycle.

I did cry for a couple of hours at what has felt like constant obstacles for two years, but hopefully that’s out of me now and I’m going to try to REALLY enjoy the next two months. I had written a Plan B of non-pregnancy friendly things I wanted to do in the event the transfer didn’t work out (little knowing it was already scuppered!) so I’m going to start booking some of that stuff now. Gosh getting sad again just writing this, but I really want to try to enjoy the next two months in the way I used to when I wasn’t weighed down by the fertility journey. It really was so care free

HM2024 · 20/02/2026 22:31

@SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite Oh I'm so sorry, that's really shitty 😔 Sending big hugs. Good plan to try to just enjoy the next few months and sounds like you have some exciting plans. Allow yourself some time to be sad and angry and frustrated though - it is totally justified!
