Thought I would start a thread as can't see one already
Anyone in the same boat who'd like to chat?
It's our first round. Likely to need a freeze all which I'm quite disappointed about as means won't even transfer until Nov.
I'm on short protocol.
Feeling pretty fed up ATM tbh, partly because it's come to this but also just want to get going, currently just waiting for my period early sept and feels like my life is on hold until then!

@NSC1982 I had 8 days of morning stims, started the antagonist on the 5th day of that, triggered the evening of the 8th day but the lady who scanned me on day 8 did say it's unusual to trigger day 8 as that's quite early. I had a lot of follicles day 8 (can't remember how many), 22 of which were already a good size.

Hopefully the timings will all work out well.

I started Menopur and Reckovelle on day 1, added Fyremadel on day 5, and triggered with Fyremadel + 2 Decapetyls on day 12!

@Backtotheicsi I've just had a msg from Manchester fertility confirming we want ICSI. They said they'll update me tomorrow afternoon about how it's gone - do you know if this means they'll know how many fertilised? Or will that be Thursday that they know that? Xx

Glad to read so many great news stories about egg collections tomorrow and great numbers of follicles collected/fertilised.

Sorry to hear about your eggs not fertilising @BGMart28 but fingers crossed for your 1 embryo and also sounds like you have a fantastic positive attitude about going for the next round if things don't work out this time around.

Interesting how different each area is - I get 1 x round on the NHS and that includes stims, egg collection and then transfer of all viable embryos (one at a time) until one results in pregnancy. So great in some ways, but also if we only get 1 embryo and that doesn't stick then we'd have to go private. The Drs have given me lots of reassurance that they think we will respond well but I hadn't considered that sperm/egg might just not match well!

I'm on day 3 of stims today, so scan next Tuesday (day 10) and all being well egg collection next Thursday!! I feel completely normal with 0 side effects so whilst I'm pleased about that (and I know it's early days), it's funny how we almost want the side effects to know it's working isn't it? ha. Sure I'll kick myself for thinking that if they do kick in!!

yes great to hear so many positive news on collections and that things are heading in the right direction.

@YourTipsyDog 3dp5dt transfer how’s it going? How you feeling? Any unusual feelings ? I got a call on Mon saying my 2nd embryo that was slightly behind sadly didnt make to blasto, so grateful I have this one that they transferred on Saturday and really praying that my little mustard seed sticks. Are you going to test early? What day did your clinic give you to test? did you get a scan picture of where they transferred embryo?

@Klmno hey so you’ll find out how many eggs straight after collection but then they will ring you that day to say how many were mature enough to be injected so that’s what they mean. Fertilisation will be Friday xxx

Hi @Happyclappy22 nice to hear from you. I feel like if anything I’ve got less feelings than ever; last week I felt really bloated after EC but at the moment I feel completely normal…argh! I am supposed to test on the 27th but I’m going to test a day early so me and my husband can do it together. I didn’t get a picture but I did get a time lapse video of my embryo which is actually very cool (it came as part of our package, I wouldn’t have paid for it separately!)

Having no symptoms is actually very positive and normal because if you think about it people that conceive naturally do all sorts before they find out they’re pregnant. As long as there’s no period we’re pretty safe symptoms or not.

Wow they gave you 2 weeks exact! You’ll deffo be fine to test the day before. I actually have been so tempted to test on Saturday as I’ve seen so many people on different threads test as early as 4dp (that’s obvs ridiculously early) but they do it everyday to compare the lines to see HCG rising. That time lapse thing is super cool, so wait does that mean you have actual footage? If so that’s amazing!!

I’ve been feeling a lil discomfort on my right side of pelvis from yesterday. It’s comes and goes and because I have endo it concerns me a lil.Im trying not to think too much of it though and it was playing up ALOT after ER. I found it hard to sleep yday I felt nervous and like butterflies. Still using my progesterone pessaries so it could be that. I don’t know.The wait is so hard, how you keeping busy ?

Fingers crossed so tight for the little embryos on board @Backtotheicsi and @Happyclappy22 and @YourTipsyDog (and anyone I've lost track of). I know I've never met any of you irl but very invested in your journeys and really hoping for the best news!
I felt so alone in all this before this thread so it's great to speak to people who can relate to the ups and downs.

Ahh @Backtotheicsi thanks that makes a lot of sense. So I can expect two lots of results tomorrow, further results Thursday, then would Saturday be day 3? And then Monday day 5? (Assuming we have something)
Do they freeze embryos on day 5 or day 6 or does it vary...I'm a bit confused by that.

My cold has turned into a cough and I'm sat here worrying that I'll cough during egg collection and they'll puncture an ovary 😭

@Klmno they’ll tell you how many eggs they got within the hour of you waking up. Then the next day they will tell you how many fertilised (so that’s day one). Day three will be two days after that, and day five two days after day 3 if that helps. So say EC is Thursday, fertilisation Friday, day three Sunday, day 5 Tuesday.

You are right @Happyclappy22 let me know if you do test on Saturday. I think I will leave it because we are away next week and I don’t want any bad news to spoil it. I have a 23 second video which covers 115 hours of development!

It’s so hard to know isn’t it? Last time I felt like I had more symptoms but it was a BFN for me so I’m not sure you can take much notice of them anyway. I have made myself a ‘to do’ list this week, I’ve already done about 5 loads of washing and I’m planning to make a Christmas cake 🤣

@Klmno yes that’s right! They will freeze day 5 or 6, any that are ready day 5 then watch any that show promise. We had day 5 transfer but have a day 6 frozen :) I shall be eagerly awaiting your update tomorrow if you’re feeling up to it! Good luck!

It was absolutely fine, a really dreamy sleep actually! The waiting around for it beforehand was the worst part.

We got 26 eggs which I'm over the moon with! We find out this afternoon how many are mature enough to use. I am expecting big dropoffs moving forwards as we have known sperm DNA fragmentation but I'm so relieved we are off to a good start!
Definitely having a freeze all but I pretty much expected that.

i am just waiting for my transfer this afternoon, I know we have a high grade embryo to transfer and we have other high grades to freeze so I am so pleased about that. Now just to actually make it to transfer, hopefully my scan is all good beforehand. I feel fine and I’m not really bloated or anything so I’m hoping it goes ahead x

Unfortunately I have to stim for 2 more days as only have 7 large follicles (my clinic only counts the ones over 18mm at this stage hoping 2 more days let's others catch up to be classed as follicles so EC now scheduled for Saturday at 9am and then transfer next Thursday so everything been pushed back

@camelinastorm thank you. They didn't tell me follicles today, but two days ago I had a decent number of follicles, I can't remember how many total but I know 22 were large enough. I've just had a call to say 18 of the 26 eggs were mature enough for ICSI. I think that's good so far 🤞🏼I'm already torturing myself typing the percentage drop offs into my calculator to try and predict how many embryos we might get 🤣
I think it is quality over quantity and loads of follicles isn't necessary a good thing. My friend got 40 eggs, no PCOS, but only 9 were mature. I've known of others (from posts on here) getting less than 10 eggs but all fertilising and good numbers of blasts...you really just don't know how it will go and I reckon there's some degree of luck

@Klmno wow! 26 eggs is amazing and having 18 mature is great. I know the drop off can be scary but fingers xd for you that you have a great number of embryos. How are you feeling?

I got 10 eggs this mornings. Only 7 mature. I feel like absolute shit

your luck worked as we got our fresh transfer! There was no sign of any free fluid so yeah, embryo on board currently. Can’t believe it 🩷

@camelinastormsorry I haven’t ever heard of this, did they give you anymore detail or are you able to call to ask some questions?

@boberto88 please don’t be sad, it’s quality over quantity and it only takes one. And I know me saying that won’t help right now and I also felt quite shit with the drop off but it will be okay 🩷 x

@boberto88 absolutely echoing the quality over quantity comment. I got 8 eggs from 19 follicles with my 2022 cycle, 1 is my son. You could technically end up with 7 blastocysts from 7 mature eggs, you just don’t know. I know a higher number is psychologically reassuring but the ones that are going to develop, will, and the ones which won’t, won’t. ❤️

I’ve just been for my 2nd monitoring scan, egg collection booked for Friday morning - eek. I have 19 follicles again, same as I did in 2022. As above I only got 8 eggs from that no of follicles previously. Dr said she is hoping for 12-14 so we will see.

@boberto88 totally what @babycoconut said! I had 14 fertilise out of 21 and all 14 made it to day 5 as good-rated blastos so you never know!
