IVF / ICSI November

Anyone starting stims in November?

I started stims last night. I'm on a long protocol. Started in October with norethisterone and then Buserelin. This is my second IVF cycle.

First cycle I didn't take the Buserelin, had 8 eggs collected, 3 blasts, none normal (1 high level mosaic in the freezer)

I'm on a 2 cycles package, so hoping this one is the lucky one 🙂

No problem at all,I have literally been a ball of overthinking these last few weeks nice to share the knowledge I got from google 😂 @Magix86

hopefullsosbry · 02/12/2024 12:25

@Magix86 yes this is a new protocol, each clinic were slightly different protocols as at lest we know we have tried what we can I guess ? Is it tonight you do your trigger shot ?

my scan went well yesterday, results were -

Right side
1x 16mm
1x 12mm
3x under 10mm

Left side
1x 12mm
1x 10 mm
3x under 10mm

she didn’t specifically say what the measurements of the under 10 were so hopefully they grow also? They didn’t look to much smaller than the 10mm one ?

we are back tomorrow again for 2nd scan, I have a feeling we will trigger Wednesday night with EC Friday morning ? But will see what they say tomorrow,

hope everyone else is good, does anyone have anymore updates on how they are getting on ??

Magix86 · 02/12/2024 12:33

@hopefullsosbry sounds like you had a good scan! Hopefully those smaller ones will grow. If it helps, all of my smaller ones got to over 10mm in the 2 days between scans. Growing on average 2mm a day for me so far.
Yep - trigger tonight 9pm!! Final hurdle for the meds side of things.

Cosyseason1234 · 02/12/2024 12:37

Hi all! @hopefullsosbry @Magix86 those follicles are sounding like they are doing very well ❤️ so lovely seeing them on the scan!

I have had the day 5 call this morning. We have 2 excellent grade embryos, one ok and one probably not freezable. They are updating us at the end of today. I felt abit sad when they updated me as we started with 18 eggs but I’ve had a word with myself and feeling very grateful now! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again,IVF is a horrible rollercoaster 😂

tpeas · 02/12/2024 12:40

Hi all, just had my transfer appointment, we had one AA grade blast which has gone in eee. Unfortunately none of the others were good enough quality to freeze which is a bit of a shame, but just keeping fingers crossed for this one. That sounds hopeful @Cosyseason1234 , hope you'll have freeze success with those!

Cosyseason1234 · 02/12/2024 12:46

sorry to hear there is nothing to freeze @tpeas got everything crossed for your little AA Christmas miracle!

bubu24 · 02/12/2024 12:56

@tpeas congratulations on the transfer! Sending all the good vibes your way. Hope it all progresses well ❤️

@bubu24 thank you ❤️ Have you had any updates?

Elena3 · 02/12/2024 13:11

@tpeas congratulations on your transfer, hope for the best! :) Exciting!

@Cosyseason1234 it is wonderful, considering 2 of them are excellent! :)

We had a day 5 update phone call yesterday! The news exceeded my expectations, as they managed to freeze 7 embryos. I asked about the quality, the answer wasn't very detailed, just 'they were all good, otherwise we wouldn't be able to freeze them', so that's all I know.

My transfer is now due in January, but I don't really have any further instructions: all I was told is to email the nurses on my 14th day of the cycle and they will arrange the transfer. Am I not supposed to be scanned to see the state of the uterus/lining? Start progesterone? I have progesterone pessaries in the fridge, was issued those in the very beginning of the process, but nobody told me yet when to start those. I will email those questions to the nurses of course, but I feel like I am really missing some info.

hopefullsosbry · 02/12/2024 13:15

@Magix86 hope your trigger goes well for tonight.

@Cosyseason1234 2 with a high grade is a super result ! You will feel a bit down with the 18 initially but you only need one to work and be viable , hoping these 2 are that for you!

@tpeas ohh best of luck , the dreaded two week wait for you now .. hoping for your wee embryo to implant nice and snug. Will you test early or will you wait until your test date ?

@Elena3 that doesn’t sound to helpful, we always got a grade of each embryo, and yes if you are doing a non medicated FET you should at least get bloods and a scan to check hormone levels and lining ? Hope you get all your answers to the questions.

Anonneom · 02/12/2024 13:19

Hey everyone!
congratulations on all your good news! @Cosyseason1234 thays really good that you’ve got them to freeze and such good quality. @tpeas fingers crossed for you hopefully your transfer works.
I had a 4AA transferred yesterday. Just got the call with the frozen update before and they’ve managed to freeze 3 more 4AA’s and a 4AB. Hoping we get all the baby dust and all our embryos stick ladies!!!!

Magix86 · 02/12/2024 13:35

Thank you @Cosyseason1234 @bubu24@hopefullsosbry
@Cosyseason1234 having 2 of good quality is awesome news!! Sorry you're disappointed with the numbers though. Hope you can relax a little and enjoy Christmas knowing you have them ready for January 💕

@tpeas @Anonneom congratulations on your transfers!! Keeping everything crossed for your next 2 weeks.
@Elena3 really sorry, that sounds disappointing to have so many uncertainties. Hopefully the clinic can answer and put your mind at ease

Elena3 · 02/12/2024 13:43

@hopefullsosbry , @Magix86 , thank you! Just emailed the clinic, so far my experience with them has been really good, the absence of information is frustrating. I think it is unmedicated cycle, otherwise I am sure they would have told me at least this - my protocol was short without downregulation, so maybe it stays straightforward...

@Anonneom sending you some good vibes for the transfer!

hopefullsosbry · 02/12/2024 13:58

@Elena3 so far I have had 5 unmedicated transfers and 1 medicated, with the unmedicated they have to track your natural surge so either by blood or pee’ing on the ovulation sticks, for me the ovulation sticks didn’t marry up with the bloods they took (I pee’d on them for my own record so that’s how I know) so they don’t work exact for everyone, I would push for bloods to record your surges. Also a scan to check lining would usually be done. I don’t have fertility issues with the lining so I was always just checked for this the morning before each FET. Hope this helps a little.

hopefullsosbry · 02/12/2024 13:59

@Anonneom all the best in your two week wait !! 🤞🏽💫

Elena3 · 02/12/2024 14:06

@hopefullsosbry oh, it does help indeed, thank you for sharing! I was so naive, until today I thought that's it - I just email, turn up for the appointment and that's all. (facepalm). Oh, in case if my ovulation needs to be monitored of course blood test are always more reliable. We have unexplained infertility with no deteced problems whatsoever, and whenever I have ultra sound everything always 'looks great' (both via NHS and some private Polish clinic in London, and private clinic in Latvia). Maybe that's why they decided to do it unmedicated, which makes sense, but it feels very wrong that I am finding out all those things via forums/google search. My experience with this clinic has been great so far, really hope it is not going to go downhill from now on..!

bubu24 · 02/12/2024 15:45

Just and update from my side. We got the results from the pgta testing and we have 2 normal embryos. So happy!
I stupidly didn't book the follow up consultation before and now next availability is Dec 17th so probably a January transfer for me.
I am also thinking of doing the ERA, EMMA, ALICE test just to make sure everything is fine and we don't waste any good embryos but we'll see what the consultant says...

@Elena3 7 is amazing 🥰 Can you message your clinic? Have you got an app? They definitely need to give you some clear clarification and dates.

@Anonneom so pleased for you! Fingers crossed for a sticky embryo.

@Magix86 thank you! Had the final call from clinic,a third one caught up and has been frozen 🥹 I’ve just seen your post on the other thread, don’t feel guilty AT ALL take all the time you need. I took 2 days fertility leave last week plus a day off sick,I was so overwhelmed by it all and it’s only now I feel ready to go back. People take the absolute mick and are off work for weeks for very minor things, this is massive both mentally and physically.

@hopefullsosbry thank you ❤️ got everything crossed for good results this cycle for you ❤️

@bubu24 amazing news! Hopefully you can relax over Christmas and I’ll see you on a Jan FET thread if you can’t get a transfer into December 👏🏻

hopefullsosbry · 02/12/2024 16:39

@bubu24 thats amazing !! Two euploids is a great result !! Well done you and all the best for these!

@Elena3 yes I was the same, I found out a lot through the internet and asking other woman on here and them sharing their experiences. Have you had a test for sticky bloods ? Also I found out I had a bacterial infection within the uterus, which was only a simple course of antibiotics to fix, not sure if this could be causing the miscarriages but it’s worth you getting the environment within the uterus checked if you haven’t already, I would say, I had an endometrial biopsy which told me this. Also get sperm checked for dna fragmentation. ?

@Cosyseason1234 that's great you got an extra one .. Woop ! 🧡

hopefullsosbry · 02/12/2024 16:46

@bubu24 just wondering out of curiosity, did they tell you if the two euploids were your day 5 or day 6 blasts at all ? If I remember correctly you had a few days 6 blasts ? Would be interesting to know if it was the two day 5s or if any day 6 blasts were euploid ? That’s amazing news and you must be so happy .. 🧡

bubu24 · 02/12/2024 16:55

@hopefullsosbry it was one of each, a day 5 and a day 6.
I had 6 embryos sent for testing this cycle (only 2 were day 5).
I asked for the report as well so I could check what was wrong with the others. If you ask, they will send it to you.

OP posts:
hopefullsosbry · 02/12/2024 17:07

@bubu24 thanks for this, I’ll keep that in mind when i get mines done. That’s great that a day 6 made it ! Very interesting 🤞🏽💫

bubu24 · 02/12/2024 17:18

@hopefullsosbry Yes I was quite worried that we wouldn't get any euploids again as they said day 6 tend to be abnormal and we had less day 5s than last time. So I'm very happy with the results.
Hope it all goes well for you as well ❤️
