3 day or 5 day ET advice needed

Please can someone help me 😣

3 eggs collected yesterday and had a call from the clinic to say that they were able to fertilise 2 eggs using ICSI

They want to transfer on Monday (day 3) but I'm confused why they want to do this as I thought ET was usually on Day 5 🤷🏻‍♀️

They weren't able to give me info on Grading or Egg Quality as it's too early 😣

What should I do? What should I ask?

If there’s no difference in quality on Day 3 ask if they will be waiting until Day 5 to see which embryo is strongest.

If you’re having both transferred then it won’t make any difference.

Day 3 is better when there is less eggs, clinic is definitely doing the right thing!

I only had two fertilised with ICSI and had a day 5. The way I see it is that if an embryo doesn’t make it to day 5 it wouldn’t grow inside you either, so at day 5 you have the strongest one. The other of mine stopped growing just after day 3 so if we’d have had it transferred it wouldn’t have stuck. The day 5 did stick and I’m 20 weeks pregnant now. Basically I think it just reduces the chances of having one put back in that doesn’t work. 😊

I had a double day 3 transfer and now have a beautiful 15 month old.Both embyros 8 cell grade 1.Our doctor said that yes day 5 is best but sometimes embyros do better back where they belong.Best of luck whatever you decide.x
