Fresh day 3 or day 5 transfer

Hi I need some advice. I don’t want to Google too much so I’m asking here.

I’m going through IVF and have previously had a failed day 5 transfer (FET - didn’t implant) and another FET which ended in a missed miscarriage at 8 weeks. I have a year old son from a fresh day 3 transfer.
I’m 40 and need to decide whether to go for a fresh day 3 or day 5 transfer. Please advice. Any pros/cons.

Thank you everyone.

Doctors usually prefer Day 5 because by that time the embryo is more developed (so selecting which one to transfer is easier), sperm's effect kicks in at Day 3, in a natural pregnancy the embryo reaches the uterine cavity on Day 5 so the timing is more aligned etc. But of course many Day 3 transfers work and you have the proof!

If it had worked for you before and you would like to try it again, I don't see any reason why you shouldn't pursue it. You will likely be more optimistic in case of a Day 3 transfer, and psychological aspects are important too.

See how many embryos you have, personally I think a day 3 transfer would be better.
After the day 3 transfer the clinic will still continue to let the embryos grow to day 6 to be frozen anyway
