IVF/ICSI May or late April

Is anyone else gearing up to do IVF/ICSI in May?

My meds have arrived and I start my down regs next week to start a long protocol ICSI cycle, my egg collection will then be mid-May.

Had my first ICSI cycle in Feb which resulted in only 1 embryo which was transferred on day 5, but BFN. I found the support group on here super helpful with my last cycle, so wondering if anyone else is in a similar position?

@AnnieStar12 we were told no less than 2 days but no more than 3 days! We had egg collection on the Monday and we DTD on Friday morning! So we pretty much had about 3 days abstinence! You could DTD tonight to cover all basis! It wouldn't interfere with anything I don't think! They only told us to not have sex for a week after the transfer and that's been it!

I think with ICSI there isn’t a bottom limit, we DTD 2 days before though @AnnieStar12 not for the same reasons as you, but because I knew I wouldn’t let him near me in the TWW 🤣🤣🤣

I think it never truly feels real until it's an actual positive where you aren't second guessing it 😂😂 hahaha well I think I'm feeling particularly mental every day at the minute 🤪 I looked on Amazon but no same day delivery now.. must be too late on in the day! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Thanks ladies, maybe tonight is a bit too close as that'll only be like 30 hours before the ICSI so I'll leave it. We DTD last night cause I thought that would be the last chance to have a bit of insurance incase any eggs decided to pop out too soon. OMG, I'm going mad aren't I!!! I think I'm just finding it so hard not to be in total control.

@AnnieStar12 my instructions I just got say 3-5 days abstinence, I'm with Care Fertility and know they all say different but you should be okay.
He's even got instructions on having a small breakfast before 7 lol

@Gnatalie16 oh no hope you are ok, did you feel any symptoms at all that would indicate OHSS?

I am on day 3 of stims and today I felt a bruise like feeling right where my groin joins to my pelvic area.. where the crease at top of thigh (sorry rubbish at explaining) I did wonder if it’s my lymph node swollen as I know there are nodes there .. which would mean white blood cells are activated and ie an infection somewhere ? Has anyone ever had this ?? Not sure whether to be worried or if it’s just nothing ???

@hopefullsosbry nothing that would have worried me and as I had been going for regular scans, today being my 5th I assumed all was normal and they upped my meds only last Wednesday so must just be a recent thing.
I do feel like period like cramping on the left side where it's more and larger but nothing that is making me feel unwell.
I am a nightmare though and I know I will now be symptom checking every hour looking out for it which isn't great 😅

@AnnieStar12 we also just got our instructions (I'm with Care) and got told 2-5days of abstinence.

We DTD on Monday, so not sure if that's ok?

My trigger is at 11pm tonight with my procedure at 11am on Friday.

Ladies any tips for post EC ?

Omg as if I thought it was just standard lol 😂 told me none from 3 weeks before stims until either period or scan

Is it okay for me to join? Still on day 4 of stims, and I know a lot of people on here have had EC and transfer. I have my first scan booked in for Monday 20th to check the growth of my follicles and I feel quite anxious about.

Just getting in my head a bit :(

Welcome @EvaA17 😊 Of course you can join us! We’re all at different points, some have had egg collections and transfers and others are just started stims, some haven’t started stims yet at all, so you’ll fit right in.
Yeah it is nerve wracking at lots of points in IVF, but with your eggs, you’ll definitely have more than a month of trying naturally! And it only takes one egg anyway. You’re always going to worry but try and focus your energy on imagining all those eggs growing, and feeding your body with all the good healthy food and supplements and get lots of rest. I think the stims also make you a little anxious too.

If it helps I cried my eyes out at my first scan, I only had 4 eggs showing, one big one and 3 teeny tiny ones. I got 3 at my collection, 2 were mature and both fertilised, one made it all the way to be a perfect day 5 blast and I’ve just got a positive test. Definitely not out the woods at all, but it gave me so much more hope knowing that even with really low egg numbers I could still get to transfer. So hold out hope and stay as positive as you can ✨

Trigger shot done! Whoop, hopefully that’s the very last injection I need to take. A month to the day since I started this loooooong protocol cycle.

@EvaA17 welcome! everyone is at different stages on here so hopefully this support thread will keep going till we’ve all finished. Is this your first cycle? What protocol are you doing?

Daft question but when I have my shower before egg collection am I okay to use shampoo & conditioner as it's not scent free or should I not?

Im planning to wash my hair tomorrow and then on Friday morning just have quick shower using my shower gel which is perfume-free anyways. Hard to remember not to use any moisturiser as that’s my instinctive thing to do after the shower.

Morning everyone! I did another test this morning and it was negative, so must have been the trigger! I'm going to be realistic and say this cycle hasn't worked 😣 as I feel like I'd be getting some sort of positive by now if it had and honestly I really don't feel pregnant at all now my bodies have gotten used to the pessarys.. still another week until my blood test but wish I could just get it over and done with now 😅

@Ashleighlouise You’re not out!! You’re only 5 days past transfer today, most people don’t get positives until day 7-9 from all the threads I have read! Hang in there. It’s a horrible 2WW. 🤞🤞
