IVF/ICSI April 2024

Hopefully find others in a similar boat 🙏

Just made my ‘Day One’ call to the clinic this week to set the ball rolling this will be my second cycle, first one failed on 12th Feb 2024.

Bit of background to how we got here, I have had 4 ectopics since Nov 2020 2 resulting in emergency surgery and losing both my tubes. No reason why our first cycle failed, we will be doing IVF/ICSI this time round.

Anyone joining me in the April emotional rollercoaster? X

@Lucylaughing so happy you saw a heart beat. You’ve had a tough time! Really hope it continues to go well and that your next scan is positive and reassuring

Hopingtobe4 · 01/05/2024 18:16

Girls we caved,I can't believe I'm writing this,it's positive. Just now hoping that it's nothing to do with the trigger, trigger was 17th April...

Yes first transfer,i still cant believe it. We did know the donor was a success though as we already have a toddler (that my partner carried)

Omg!!!! Wow congratulations!!!! Tell me all your symptoms cause I’ve still got a day left!!

Becky105 · 01/05/2024 22:50

OMG OMG OMG!!! @Lucylaughing I got emosh reading your post, against all the odds a little heartbeat. Congratulations.

Then, @Hopingtobe4 that's amazing news. The two news combined did make me cry... But I did also start my withdrawal bleed just now too, so I think my hormones are running high 🤣

So happy for you both

I really thought my period was coming i was so disheartened that's why my partner agreed to testing lol, especially when I got very cold.

Although what I can say was my back muscles already felt relaxed if that makes any sense.

I in myself felt so relieved after it and even today I feel so much more content. Just hoping now everything is OK,will test again Saturday and Monday.

Fingers crossed for everyone.

What is concerning me though is i only have enough progesterone to do me until sunday evening, teat day is Monday and my clinic aren't keen on prescribing after the first 2 weeks - NHS so I've no option of buying (I'm in N.Ireland - prescriptions are free).

My partner didn't have any after the initial 2 weeks - anyone else's clinic the same?

I feel really sore and tender cramps today abit like period cramps.. I’m due on 4th.
I only have enough pessaries to last me till tomorrow morning. When I ring clinic and tell them results I’ll ask about it because I’ve read that people can be on them up until 12 weeks.

im going to hold off till the morning for the morning wee.. really hoping for the same results as you!!! Congratulations again!!

Aw really hoping that's a positive sign for you. I forgot I also have noticed a change in nipples and the area around it,getting wider and darker.

I didn't even do a morning one lol we just sort of did it. Still can't believe it,keep looking at it.

Let us know how you get on tomorrow.with testing and clinic!

Lucylaughing · 02/05/2024 11:21

Thanks everyone for your good wishes. It's all a bit surreal tbh. I am just really hoping it continues to develop, poor little thing is obviously trying its best.

@Hopingtobe4 congrats on your BFP, what fantastic news. I would definitely push for a progesterone prescription, my clinic said to continue to take it until 12 weeks.

I took the day off work today because I've been so moody the last couple of days, started my withdrawal bleed last night and just all round feeling funky. I was confused about which day they would give me my embryo update on and one nurse said yesterday another said today. So I waited all of yesterday eventually emailed and they said I'd get a call today.

They just called and from our 14 that fertilised we've got 12 embryos. I'm so relieved.

Kp1210 · 02/05/2024 15:04

Thats great news @Becky105 What stage are your 12 embryos?
i got my withdrawal bleed this morning. Hope you feel better soon

@Kp121 11 are day 5 blastocysts and 1 is a day 6 blastocyst. I asked the Embryologist for the gradings and to start with she just said all good, so I asked again and she gave me their grades: 4BC, 4BB, 4AA, 4BA, 5BB, 4AC, 4AB, 3BC, 4AB, 4AB, 5AB and 4BB.

So they are all in the freezer now and I don't have a clue about the plan to get started with my frozen cycle. They haven't replied to my email about withdrawal bleed, so I'll just wait and see.

@Hopingtobe4 that's a good line!!!

lemonyfox · 02/05/2024 18:08

Urgh still no sign of my withdrawal bleed yet, just want to get it over with.

Those are really good numbers @Becky105 well done!
