FET February 2024

Hi, just thought I'd see if there was anyone else doing a FET cycle in February that is looking for a cycle buddy?

I'm due to start meds at the end of this month, hopefully with transfer mid Feb. This will be my first donor embryo cycle after final attempts with my own eggs failed last year.

Thanks everyone for the positive vibes - they must have worked, as I had a BFP this morning! Hoping my blood test later shows a decent HCG level. I am over the moon and hoping for a healthy pregnancy ☺️

beachbum85 · 29/02/2024 09:07

Ohhhh amazing! So happy for you @muddlingthrou 🤩 congratulations! enjoy this special feeling xxx

IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday · 29/02/2024 11:11

@muddlingthrou huge congratulations!

Sorry everyone, I haven't been on the chat for a week but have just caught up. Huge thanks to everyone who has shared supplement details etc., I've made lots of notes.

It is lovely to hear of a few BFPs, absolutely delighted for you and really hope you have happy healthy pregnancies.

I'm incredibly sorry for those of you who have ended up with chemical pregnancies - sending love to you and to everyone else who had BFNs 💕

girljulian · 29/02/2024 12:30

Oh, congratulations @muddlingthrou!

seekingbabyk · 29/02/2024 12:38

@GCS34 @kaydevo7777 yes definitely up for a group all helping each other!

I'm so sorry @kirstysmbc - hope you are ok! Sending hugs 🥰

@beachbum85 - really glad you have a plan and dates now! My AF has arrived today too but so painful at the moment. Just want to sit with a hot water bottle tbh but I'm sure I'll be fine in a couple of days. And yes I had a couple of drinks on Monday too and ended up with the worst nights sleep! Haven't even thought about another one since so it's definitely a deterrent!

Yay thats amazing news @muddlingthrou ! So pleased for you ❤️

kaydevo7777 · 29/02/2024 16:56

@muddlingthrou congratulations on the bfp ! so wonderful!

i just got my results back from my first OTD 9dp5dt and my hcg was 96.
I know the general thing seems to be, don't worry too much about the number but about how it progresses (so I have another blood booked for friday) - but still it'd be nice to have a sense of how standard that number is. it's all so confusing.

ivfjourney2023 · 29/02/2024 20:04

Hi All. I'm new to this thread so thought I'd say hi 👋🏻.

I've just seen your post @kaydevo7777. I had my OTD last Friday at 10dp5dt and my HCG was 103. I had a repeat blood test at 14dp5dt and it had gone up to 650 which my clinic were happy with.

Sending love to all of those who have had a chemical pregnancy or BNF - everyone on this journey is an absolute warrior.

biscuitsndtea · 29/02/2024 22:57

Thanks @beachbum85 and @kaydevo7777 for your lovely wishes 🤗

Congrats @muddlingthrou on bfp, thats awesome !

@ivfjourney2023 welcome and congratulations :)

muddlingthrou · 01/03/2024 06:17

@biscuitsndtea - thank so much! Have you decided whether to test earlier or wait until OTD?

kirstysmbc · 01/03/2024 08:10

@muddlingthrou Huge congrats on the BFP!

@kaydevo7777 @ivfjourney2023 Also congrats on your great beta numbers. The betabase website is a great one to get an idea of where your levels sit.

Fingers crossed to all three of you for happy, healthy pregnancies 😊

And keeping everything crossed for you too @biscuitsndtea

@kaydevo7777 amazing to hear you continued to get BFPs! I hope tomorrow's call confirms everything for you xxx

@muddlingthrou well done for holding out (and yes, impossible to stay focused whilst waiting!) and best of luck tomorrow - I'll be thinking of you and hoping for the best news xxx

@biscuitsndtea good luck whenever you decide to test! keeping everything crossed!

@kirstysmbc I'm so sorry the beta came back low, and that the clinic are not being helpful at all... that is super hard especially knowing the extra effort it wil take to try again! Sending you huge hugs xxx

@Staryskylark that sounds very positive and I hope all goes well at your scan! Keep us posted and I hope these couple of weeks fly for you xxx
Oh, I also kept myself too warm one night and woke up in a sweat so I'm glad you're saying you did that and it didn't affect implantation... stops me overthinking what if... so thanks for sharing 😄

@seekingbabyk I started a bit of a withdrawal bleed yd, 5 days after stopping, but still waiting for proper AF. Last time it was full on 3 days after, so it varies. I hope it won't be too bad for you. A bad period after a failed attempt is really hard to deal with... Totally with you on feeling less alone in struggling together whilst also wanting to see more positives for others. It is odd, but I definitely feel like a positive after a struggle is a win for all of us going through this journey 😍I really hope your next round is the winning one! 🤞🏼3 months prep and a holiday sounds like a great way into it again.
And your dog is gorgeous!!!

@GCS34 I'm glad your husband agrees to go with the DET, and I'll be cheering you on doubly! And I was the same thinking that embaby better get used to travelling... and it worked, he stuck and is a great traveller now! I spent our holiday away in the tww telling that embaby: look, if you stick around, there'll be much more of this to come... aren't you curious? wouldn't you like to see more? haha my partner thought I'd lost my mind BUT that embaby is now my son 🥰

Just paid for our next FET today... the end of March appointment is both a review and planning appointment so I'm hoping that I'll be able to start immediately if it'll be around the start of my period and I'll be going with a natural cycle again. Lots of assumptions 😅 in the meantime, flying out for work and then holiday on Monday and just looking forward to not thinking about all this for a while - if I can stop myself Googling!

Weekend back home was lovely and I did have a HUGE commiseration glass of wine, which didn't sit too well on my stomach though, and will keep me off the alcohol for a while, which is no bad thing.
And yes please for the IVF tips and tricks club! Sweets are my downfall too, and I'm a super fussy eater so really had to push myself to eat the beets, but I'll save the soup recipe...
What's the podcast you mentioned @GCS34 ?

Sorry for the long post - I find it hard to keep up but I love reading all the updates and chat!

@kirstysmbc I totally get not being ready yet - it's a lot to process. Especially with donor timescales too, as I know their is often a waiting time of 3 months isn't there? How are you feeling now and are you back home?

@muddlingthrou Congratulations to you!!! That's a really great result and nice to see that positive's are a real thing, not a fictional mystery that only happens in our dreams. Really pleased for you and do you have a scan booked or anything yet?

@ivfjourney2023 They're some great numbers - congratulations, and of course, welcome! ❤

@seekingbabyk we're definitely going to set this "IVF Tips & Tricks" group in May and we can all reconvene there with some weird and wonderful old wives tale things we're following that have zero scientific evidence, but because some woman 8 years ago got pregnant doing it, we do it!
How are the PP's today? Do you have many plans for the weekend?

@kaydevo7777 that's a great number. When is your result from today's - will you get it this afternoon?

@beachbum85 Yeah we've said only in 'perfect conditions' will we do it though, as we've had some issues the past couple of transfers with fluid / cysts. So we said we won't be putting anything in unless it's perfect. So not holding hope that we'll get to transfer to be honest based on my track record! We had our scan this morning and there was a little endometrial cyst in my uterus, it wasn't in the cavity, just on the side, but they said they're not worried and to get started, so first pill of many taken, and see where we go from here.

And I love that -- I will defo be taking them on a wonderful mystery tour of Rome if we get to transfer, so I will be doing copious amounts of mental lady talking to my uterus too! Great news on getting paid and set up for your next shot! This is the final one right? And that's great that you're going to be [hopefully] starting there and then (or a few days later).

So exciting you're going away on Monday!! Get those sugar cravings fixed while you're there, then you can come back and go full saint on the cycle! Just maybe no American sized glasses of wine... 👀

muddlingthrou · 01/03/2024 14:58

@GCS34 - thank you. I feel so incredibly fortunate, and I am wishing everyone on the thread the very best of luck too.

We have an early scan booked for 19th March, so hoping all is well. After the high of yesterday's BFP, now it's the waiting game between scans hoping things are progressing OK.

kaydevo7777 · 01/03/2024 15:03

@ivfjourney2023 journey2023 welcome! (and congratulations!) and thank you for sharing your numbers. the range is so wildly large it makes me nervous.
@kirstysmbc rstysmbc thank you ! I checked out the betabase website - it does put my mind at ease to see that there are many people who start with these numbers
@GCS34 S34 thank you! and annoyingly the clinic told me to get my blood test at just anyplace today (which I just did) and they'll call me once they get the results. It's a bit frustrating that the follow up blood test isn't included as all the drop-ins range so wildly in how long the labs take - so i'm not sure when i'll get that second number - could be as long as a week which just seems pointless. I guess I can just continue with hcg urine strips and hope I see progression, I've been taking them too frequently and they sort of look the same

girljulian · 02/03/2024 13:58

BFN for me today, unfortunately. I actually had some symptoms this time and was hopeful, vs last time when it was positive (ended in MMC) and I had none! Symptoms are a lie but I let myself be deceived by them this time…sigh

IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday · 02/03/2024 14:46

@girljulian really sorry to hear that. The 'symptoms' are one of the hardest part of it I think. Even when you're trying your best not to symptom spot, it's so hard to ignore the physical sensations.

Hope you manage to do some nice things that make you feel a little bit better this weekend 🩷. Feel free not to answer if you're not ready to think about it yet/don't want to share, but do you have any ideas about next steps yet?

girljulian · 02/03/2024 14:57

Thanks @IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday. I’ve told my consultant and we’re going to do one more round. We’ve done two and I always said we’d stop at three — I was just lucky to have three embryos to transfer from round 2. I only had one the first time. So, hopefully straight on to that!

Staryskylark · 02/03/2024 17:10

Sorry to hear your news @girljulian it took us three rounds before our DD we always said third time lucky!! I have everything crossed for your next round.

Hope you’ve got something nice planned and able to have a few days to look after yourself.

seekingbabyk · 02/03/2024 18:55

I'm really sorry @girljulian - I'm in the same boat as you having to do another round to try again. Sending you big hugs x

IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday · 03/03/2024 00:29

@girljulian good luck with the next round, it's hard starting again on a new round but fingers crossed this is the one for you

kaydevo7777 · 03/03/2024 14:18

@girljulian i'm so sorry to hear.. that's really tough especially as i'm sure the symptoms really raised your hope. that's great that they are good to just continue going directly to the 3rd embryo. i hope you're doing ok and finding some ways/activities to take care of yourself

beachbum85 · 04/03/2024 10:06

I'm so, so sorry @girljulian it's always so disappointing but especially gutting when you think it's worked! I hope this next round is your round - as the others have said, starting a fresh round is hard but hopefully third time lucky for you 🤞🏼🤞🏼

@kirstysmbc I hope you've settled back home and are doing as OK as possible xxx

@kaydevo7777 I've been thinking of you and I hope Friday's beta came back and gave you some reassurance!

hi and congratulations @ivfjourney2023 ! I hope you're feeling well 😍

@muddlingthrou best of luck for the scan on the 19th. The waiting game never ends, does it?!I hope all goes smoothly in the meantime xxx

@seekingbabyk I'm sorry your period was so painful... I hope it didn't last too long!
Scientific paper on the stomach effects of alcohol when stopping progesterone, anyone? 😅

@GCS34 glad to hear you've started and the cyst is not a problematic one! how are you feeling? when will you have your first scan. Keeping everything crossed for a lush lining ready to welcome the double bubble!
On my way to the airport now... not sure how I will stay even remotely healthy whilst I'm there, but not at all tempted by those American glasses of wine! It's our last frostie next time, yes... we'd have to look at a fresh round if that doesn't work so the pressure is on.

I hope everyone else is well too!

@girljulian sorry you've had a bad result weekend 😔The round after a MMC is always really hard as you have so much pinned on it, that it hits like a tone of bricks. Sending thoughts.

@kaydevo7777 hope your second results went okay. Have you had the results yet or you still in Nhs waiting limbo!

@beachbum85 Well, I'm not sure if it is or isn't. They said the only way they'll know if it's a problem is in the scan in 2 weeks time after being on the estrogen. She said it could be a Myoma, which I've since googled and it's another word for a bloody fibroid! I'm so upset -- anyone else had experiences with Fibroids and how it evolved?
It was super small, we're talking 2-3mm level, so it could be a cyst that hopefully will reabsorb, or just disappear. She said it also could be left over from my period, but it didn't look to be in the cavity. Basically she said a whole bunch of 'coulds' which has subsequently left me really low, googling fibroids and everything else left right and center and now feeling like we'll be cancelling our round next week and it's really starting to get me down. My lining is never straight forward, theirs always some complications and I just can't see a way out. If the environment isn't good, how can an embryo EVER implant again. Sorry, Monday misery over here!

First scan is a week on Thurs. How are you feeling and how excited are you right now!!! What time do you fly? And holiday's aren't meant to be healthy healthy, and if you're not drinking, then you're already doing better than 99% of the people there! So be kind, and just drink loads of water to counterbalance 😅

IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday · 04/03/2024 12:34

@beachbum85 have a fab holiday!

@GCS34 aww so sorry there's yet another potential complications for you. Fingers crossed it disappears before your scan and everything is perfect for transfer

kaydevo7777 · 04/03/2024 14:18

@beachbum85 @GCS34 the clinic just called this morning (mon) with the results from my friday beta. it was 353. So it went from 96 on 9dp5dt to 353 in 2 days. I feel reassured as it is clearly progressing but I find the whole hcg world so variable. The strange thing is, both times my clinic called it was just to be like, yeah you're pregnant and it's progressing - they don't seem to like to give me the hcg number, I always have to ask for it. So now i have an ultrasound appointment for march 19th...so a whole bunch of waiting, symptom reading, and googling.
@beachbum85 you're on vacation? or you just got back? if i recall correctly you have your next planning appointment at the end of this month so you're in a 'break' period for your mind. I know a break is never truly a break but you know...
@GCS34 i hope this complication is minor and disappears so perhaps you don't have to cancel. my understanding is that they're not an implantation issue if they're not in the cavity though right? sending you warm and positive vibes

IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday · 04/03/2024 14:24

@kaydevo7777 the rise in HCG seems like really good news for you! It sounds like you're still a bit uncertain though, I really hope the scan brings lots of good news and reassurance for you.
