FET February 2024

Hi, just thought I'd see if there was anyone else doing a FET cycle in February that is looking for a cycle buddy?

I'm due to start meds at the end of this month, hopefully with transfer mid Feb. This will be my first donor embryo cycle after final attempts with my own eggs failed last year.

@kirstysmbc
Solo Mum- I salute you! That's so inspiring to hear. How empowering!

@HeyBulldog have you looked into Access fertility? They do unlimited FET packages.

@beachbum85 love your username! Thank you 😁 Scan was quick! All ready to go on 1st Feb.

beachbum85 · 26/01/2024 14:41

@Skylab24 glad to hear it! Is that your FET date, or when you start progesterone?
Thanks haha I'm definitely in the wrong place in London in winter... nothing vaguely resembling a beach in sight 😅

Skylab24 · 26/01/2024 15:21

@beachbum85 also in London! Wish I was on a beach though!!
FET date ✨️ start progesterone today.

Hope everyone is having a fabulous Friday ✨️

SadieBarts · 26/01/2024 15:23

@Skylab24 how did the scan go?

Too many msgs, if this one fails, maybe ill try acupuncture next - sorry I got lost who stated it.

@beachbum85 which clinic in london are you using, if you dont mind me asking?

beachbum85 · 26/01/2024 15:53

@SadieBarts we're at Barts as we used to live in East London when we started treatment, so we kept our frosties there and have gone back to them... just noticing your username, are you there too?

@Skylab24 amazing, that's so soon! hope the progesterone won't be too much of a pain 🤞🏼
And yes, ALWAYS wish I was on the beach 😅I'm from a country in the Med and the winter struggle is real!

Happy Friday and weekend to everyone 🌻

MrsWindrush · 26/01/2024 17:32

Hello all! Day 17 here of a FET cycle. Have transfer booked in for next Thurs (1st Feb). Had chemo so we had embryos frozen before that - thankfully got the all-clear and had my son who's now 13 months old on our first transfer attempt last year which felt so lucky.

Have 3 embryos left but once they're gone that's it so feeling a bit apprehensive about this but also don't really think it could work first time again. Will be good to have some cycle buddies to go through this with!

beibikeiks · 26/01/2024 17:58

Hey all 😊

Just jumping on board if that's OK.
I'm getting back into the IVF game and it looks like my transfer will be right at the beginning of February (next week 😱) rather than the end of January.

I'm doing a natural FET and monitoring the ovulation myself at home (also had a scan on Wednesday).

It's kind of stressful because I'm supposed to get one of those smiley faces with Clear Blue, but last cycle when I was testing it out, I missed it and never got the smiley 😂😅😩 (but I saw a positive on line tests)

Aaaand I have to fly between countries for the transfer 😅😅😅

Hope you are all doing well and enjoy the weekend! ♥️

Skylab24 · 26/01/2024 18:38

@SadieBarts the scan was OK and I am ready to go. Transfer is on 1st February. How are things going at your end?

@beachbum85 the protocol is pretty full on but ahhh I'll get through it. You must miss the med winters. Hopefully we've seen the worse of the winter!!

@MrsWindrush another great username 👏🏾 and well done for getting the all-clear!
@beibikeiks welcome 🙂

MrsWindrush · 26/01/2024 22:08

@Skylab24 it looks like we're transfer twins - next Thursday is the big day 😬

My embryos are at hospital in London (it's where we used to live but have now moved) - so husband & I are going up for a cheeky Wednesday night hotel stay beforehand as I don't want to risk trains not working on Thursday morning!

@beibikeiks you might be similar FET timing to us too?

Feel like I "ought" to be preparing...in reality I'm just currently binge watching Traitors instead...

kirstysmbc · 26/01/2024 23:13

Hi @MrsWindrush and @beibikeiks!

Fab news about the scan @Skylab24, always good to get that date confirmed! And great to have a transfer buddy in @MrsWindrush too 😊

Typically my cycle, which has been all over the place since it came back after I had my daughter, is playing up again and looks like my period has come very early. It's only 10 days since ovulation. Will need to speak to my clinic tomorrow, but work stuff means there's no way I can go out to Portugal for the potential transfer date as it stands now. I'm hoping I can just delay starting progesterone by a couple of days and it might be ok 🤞🤞 If not, it will be another month delay.

That's exciting, looks like @Skylab24 and @MrsWindrush are transferring at the same time ♥️

I thought I might be transferring next week Thursday or Friday. But I'm honestly losing hope now 😩

I'm just not getting that bloody smiley face on the clear blue ovulation kit. I've been taking line tests as well and I don't know what to think about those, they seemed positive yesterday. I'm trying to see if the line is getting lighter today.

The clinic might want to cancel this round, I don't know. I've never done a frozen one before 😩
Good thing I didn't buy the flight yet

muddlingthrou · 27/01/2024 07:36

@kirstysmbc, @MrsWindrush, I'm sorry you're both struggling with timing, it's so tough trying to time transfers and life around our unpredictable bodies 😩 I really feel for you both xx

muddlingthrou · 27/01/2024 07:47

Apologies, I meant @beibikeiks not @MrsWindrush - sorry, not awake yet this morning

beibikeiks · 27/01/2024 08:02

Thank you @mumuddlingthrou ♥️

My premom app is picking up a peak on my line tests yesterday and the line is lighter today. So I'm pretty sure my test was positive yesterday, but Clear Blue just didn't detect it. Looks like my LH is just lower in general 🤔

I'm going to see what the clinic says and whether I need to book a flight early next week or not 🤞🤞🤞

beibikeiks · 28/01/2024 13:09

Well, I got my smiley face positive this morning 😁♥️

So I guess I'm doing a Feb 3rd transfer (just need to get the confirmation from the clinic tomorrow morning) 🤞🤞🤞

Skylab24 · 28/01/2024 14:25

Excellent news@beibikeiks !!!
Where are you having treatment?

beibikeiks · 28/01/2024 15:17

Thank you @Skylab24 ♥️

I'm actually going to Iceland for the transfer. We have one embryo left over there (I don't live there anymore). But it's easy to get there and only a short flight 😊

Skylab24 · 28/01/2024 16:57

@beibikeikssuch an amazing country! Wishing you all the best ✨️

muddlingthrou · 28/01/2024 18:30

@beibikeiks - crossing everything for you, best of luck!!!

HeyBulldog · 28/01/2024 18:39

That's fantastic news @beibikeiks 🙌 Iceland is such a beautiful country too!

Great news about your scan too @Skylab24!

I hope you get some good news from your clinic about delaying progesterone @kirstysmbc 🤞

I have a scan tomorrow and if all goes well, will be transferring 5th Feb 🤞 Our clinic is also in London so currently planning around various train disruptions to make sure we will be able to get there! I love your idea of staying in a hotel the night before @MrsWindrush. Anything that reduces stress has got to be good!

MrsWindrush · 28/01/2024 19:16

@HeyBulldog I have a nightmare vision of the trains not running and not being able to get there in the morning but them already having thawed out frozen embryo and it having to be discarded as a result! I've only got 3 left so would be DEVASTATED if that happened (although that may well not be what would happen if we couldn't get there - I haven't actually asked!)

beachbum85 · 29/01/2024 12:57

@kirstysmbc so sorry your period is early - it's so hard having to depend on our bodies and try to time everything around cycles when some things can't be moved. We've been there and I totally feel your frustration... I hope the clinic had some workaround for you 🤞🏼🤞🏼

@beibikeiks so glad to hear you got the smiley finally! Hope your clinic confirmed transfer... So lovely to get to go back to Iceland too 🤩

@HeyBulldog hope your scan went well today!

@MrsWindrush that is a really scary scenario I hadn't thought about before... but I do think embryos can be thawed and frozen again, because some people thaw the embryos to test them and then freeze again. Still, sounds like a good idea to come down this way from the night before, and get some time with your husband 😊congratulations on your son too 😍
Great that you and @Skylab24 are transfer twins, and I'll be thinking of both of you on Thursday!

Hope everyone else is doing well too

beibikeiks · 29/01/2024 13:36

I just got my transfer confirmed on Feb 3rd!

So it looks like we already have these transfers pencilled in:

Feb 1st @MrsWindrush & @Skylab24

Feb 3rd @beibikeiks

Feb 5th @HeyBulldog (if scan is all good today?)

I hope I got this right, I'm so bad with threads like these and keeping up with the usernames 🙈

Also @kirstysmbc so nice that you can get a bit of a holiday with your transfer in Portugal 😍 Embryo donation is also such a beautiful concept. I've followed a couple on YouTube that has 2 girls from embryo adoption and I believe they even have a third on the way!

I also hope the clinic can help you sort out the timing 🤞🤞🤞

SadieBarts · 29/01/2024 16:54

@beachbum85 Yes were are at Barts too. Cant say I particular like them. Nurses are amazing, but I had a really bad experience with the consultant. Since my complaint about them, I haven't seen her again luckily - I prefer the male consultant, all the women I have had, are not nice.

@Skylab24 My next scan is Wednesday, but I woke today bleeding quite a bit. I know it can be a symptom of all the estrogen, but with a thin lining, not what I need. Feel like I am on too much. The symptoms are quite extreme this time round.

muddlingthrou · 29/01/2024 16:59

@SadieBarts - sorry to hear about the bleeding and side effects. Sending you much love.

I'm with Create, and my experience has been the consultants are lovely - when you can reach them! The admin side is unbelievably disorganised and frustrating... not what you need when you're panicking because you accidentally bent the needle of your trigger shot 😬 I was hoping this go around would be smoother, but they already messed up ordered up my meds, gah!
