Had my second round of iui this lunch time however this time I’ve been put on progesterone pesseries But like an idiot I forgot to ask the nurse when I’m suppose to insert my first pessary and my clinic is now closed until Monday!! Would I insert the first one tonight or start them tomrorow night? I’ve tried googling but its no help and I’m pure panicking now I’m gonna fuck it up

Yes glad we have it in place, I’ve just started spotting this afternoon 2 days too early again!! So onto ivf I think which makes me sad. How are you getting on are you back on treatment with new sperm?

xx

Oh no, I hope it's not AF, do you normally spot before it? Keeping my fingers crossed for you 🤞 I know the idea of IVF feels daunting, it does to me too if our next few aren't successful, but the success rate is often higher!

So this cycle is clearly going to be a bit of a longer one as I only peaked with clear blue ovulation last night (not yesterday morning though) on cycle day 14 and previous ones I'd peaked day 12! So I had the IUI today, and yes with a new donor so we'll see if that makes any difference.

Oh no I'm so sorry to hear that :( big hugs! Take some time to process it all and treat yourself to something nice even some chocolate or something. What do you need to do to look into/start ivf do you know?

Mrsrmcc · 29/02/2024 20:17

Thank you 🤗 everything’s ready to go for ivf I just need to drop my paperwork off at our current clinic and they’ll send it over to a different clinic. Our clinic is at nhs hospital which only deal with iui so have to be referred to private but the first round is funded by nhs. Referral takes about 3 weeks but we’re away over Easter and away for 2 weeks in may so looking at June time before we get started. Xxx

Ahh that makes sense. Our clinic is also NHS and only does IUI so if we have 6 IUI attempts and it doesn't work they can refer us for IVF (I think if we self fund 6 IUI attempts we get a funded IVF). Hoping we won't need all 6 but we'll see!

I hope you can enjoy some time off and your time away 🥰

Mrsrmcc · 01/03/2024 05:42

It’s so unjust it’s laughable really. I hope it doesn’t get to that for you I’m manifesting for this new sperm to work 🙏🏼 keep me updated I’ll be on the look out for your reply 😆. Thank you xxx

@Mrsrmcc thank you! I'll try and remember to update but feel free to tag me if you remember and I don't 😂I hope that you enjoy some time off and to relax and it'll be time before IVF before you know it! 💕

Hey how are you getting on?

strawberrylaces12 · 13/03/2024 18:10

@Mrsrmcc started my period today so no luck sadly. Going to start a medicated cycle next and see how it goes. How are you? Xx

Mrsrmcc · 13/03/2024 20:32

Ah I’m sorry to hear 😢 medicated Cycles have slightly more success rate though don’t they? Focus on that 🙏🏼

im having a right mare. So I went to the walk in centre yesterday (couldn’t get in my gp) thought I had a uti and was vaginal spotting so wanted it checked out asap, has urine dip and pregnancy test urine came back clear but pregnancy test was positive?! Referred me to gynaecology immediately where I had another pregnancy test which was positive and hcg blood test which came back as 1014 confirming pregnancy. I had a massive big bleed on 1st March clots and everything I just can’t get my head around how it’s happened? I’m back in Friday for bloods again to see if the levels go up or down if they’re down I’m miscarrying. I’ve just been to the loo not long ago and I’ve started red bleeding and cramping a little bit. Both signs of early pregnancy and miscarriage so just need to ride it out and hope it doesn’t get heavier xx

strawberrylaces12 · 13/03/2024 22:36

@Mrsrmcc yeah they do a bit so we'll see how it goes! 🤞

Oh my gosh how stressful! I mean on the one hand congratulations on being/becoming pregnant that's obviously a very good sign. I really hope it's a good outcome for you but keep me updated and I'm here to chat! Sending lots of luck and love! xx

Mrsrmcc · 16/03/2024 08:08

I know I said that it’s kind of a good thing. I think I’m miscarrying though bleeding is getting heavier now just waiting for epu to ring me back with my last blood results. They’ve lost them so trying to locate them which is typical! Just need to know so I can deal with it xxx

OP posts:
strawberrylaces12 · 16/03/2024 09:34

@Mrsrmcc sorry to hear about the heavier bleeding. Really hope you get the results back soon so you have some answers. Can they repeat the test if they've fully lost it? Sending you lots of love!

I've done two injections now of gonal f (to stimulate more follicles to develop) which have been fine thankfully. Just hoping the scans next week show if it's started working okay and the right dose. Just hope I don't over stimulate!

Mrsrmcc · 16/03/2024 09:50

It seems to have slowed down a little bit since I wrote you so hopefully it’s a good sign. It’s just messing with my brain. They’ll repeat them once more anyway to see what the levels are at. By calculations I’m 6 weeks 2 days so hopefully they can scan if need be.

oh fab how do you find injecting it’s not so bad once you get in the swing of it is it. When I overstimulated I felt like shit to put it bluntly my lower abdom felt very heavy and full and just felt generally unwell. I’m sure everything will be absolutely fine let’s pray you get some big juicy follicles!! Let me know how they’re growing next week if you remember. Xx

strawberrylaces12 · 16/03/2024 19:54

@Mrsrmcc how have you been getting on today?

Yeah the idea of injecting was much worse than the actual thing, barely felt it haha. Thankfully I don't mind needles or injections (when done by health professionals) but injecting myself just feels a bit odd but all fine. I've felt a bit nauseous on and off but not bad at all. Just hoping that as I do more injections I'm free from bad side effects! Yes I will try to but please do tag me! xx

Mrsrmcc · 19/03/2024 09:39

I ended up in emergency surgery Sunday for ruptured tube I had an ectopic pregnancy so they had to remove the tube and obviously the pregnancy. Not quite processed it all yet mainly for the fact it hurts too much if I cry so just trying to keep it at the back of my mind for now and focus on healing. It was a bit of a rush went in for a transvaginal scan Sunday morning to see if there was a heartbeat and within 30 mins they got me in theatre so that’s partly why I’m still in shock I think. Hope everything is ok with you any side effects from stims yet xxx

strawberrylaces12 · 19/03/2024 18:18

@Mrsrmcc omg I'm so sorry! :( So glad they sorted it quickly but how awful for you. There are no words. Sending you my love and wishes for recovery. Take all the time you need to process and heal. Did they give you a time frame in terms of healing? xx

Well, it's not been the most straight forward. I thought I had been injecting fine then day 3 of them I realised the number of the pen hadn't gone down to 0 (I wasn't told that it needed to) so I hadn't been getting the dose. I just hadn't pushed it down enough to make it click. Thankfully I did my first full dose within the first 5 days of my cycle so when I told the clinic they just pushed back the scan back a day to tomorrow to give it more time to work. And the nurse was lovely and said not to worry too much as I produce good follicles naturally the gonal f is just an added bonus. This evening I've got some dull ache pain so I'm just hoping it's just follicle development and no overstimulation but I doubt it as I've not had as many doses. Will just see what the scan shows tomorrow!

Mrsrmcc · 19/03/2024 18:29

You know what I did the exact same thing on my first ever cycle!!! Luckily it was just one dose I missed but you think omg I’ve fucked it up don’t you 😂 glad you got it sorted though. I wouldn’t think it’s overstimulating yet I remember being a bit crampy think it’s all new to your body it’s never experienced it before it’s trying to force something that isn’t entirely natural I’m sure you will be absolutely fine xx

yeah there really is no words for it mixed feelings about it at the min think I just need time to process it I did have a little cry earlier but I’m sure it’ll come full blown soon you know how hormones make you feel 😆 to rub salt in the wound we were suppose to be flying out to france next week for Easter (my family is all in france) but been told no flying for 3 weeks so I’m gutted!! Xxx

strawberrylaces12 · 20/03/2024 09:54

@Mrsrmcc thankfully my scan this morning shows 3 follicles starting to develop which the nurse seemed pleased with so I've not fucked things up 😅will continue the injections and have another scan on Friday. I'm currently on cycle day 8 today. Lining is also starting to thicken up.

Just let any tears out that need to. I've sobbed each cycle with unsuccessful attempts and I can't even imagine what you're going through. But also yes it may take time for you to process it I bet it's still such a shock. Oh how annoying, really hope you can rearrange the trip or go somewhere else nice soon?

We've got a nice trip away planned for our wedding anniversary next month in London so not going abroad. But really looking forward to it we are treating ourselves to a posh hotel and meal. We have also told ourselves if we don't have fertility success later on this year we'll treat ourselves to an all inclusive holiday somewhere nice and warm. Got to get those nice things in if possible!

Mrsrmcc · 20/03/2024 10:38

Oh amazing news!!! My last cycle I only had 1 follicle and it caught so 3 is brilliant I’m pleased for you. Yeah deffo need to take time for yourselves don’t you. We have a trip planned in 7 weeks to Orlando so just praying everything is nice and healed for that but I’m deffo milking it on that plane I want first class please 😆😆😆 look after yourself and manifest those little follicles to get nice and juicy 🙏🏼 xx

strawberrylaces12 · 20/03/2024 17:47

@Mrsrmcc thank you! The only thing is that 2 of the 4 IUI attempts so far I've had two follicles grow (without any stims but I do wonder if the trigger injection may have caused me to grow 2 or perhaps it was just natural I'm not sure) and I've not been successful. Hoping that extra one may make a difference 🤞

Oh that's so exciting!! Great to have that to look forward to 🥰 ooh first class would be amazing that's on my bucket list for one day!

Thank you I'm going to rest as much as I can around work and just eat as well as I can. I've not bothered going back to caffeine or alcohol in the middle of my period and waiting for the next attempt as I've not been fussed without it. Not sure if cutting them out makes much of a difference to these things anyway!

strawberrylaces12 · 28/03/2024 12:11

@Mrsrmcc hey just checking in to see how you're doing? xx

I'm in the tww, about 4/5dpo. I had another scan two days after the one I mentioned above and actually had 5 follicles developing in the end, thankfully two were on the smaller side so they didn't cancel the IUI. I'm on double the dose of progesterone that I was on before (now on 200mg twice a day instead of once a day) and have definitely had more cramps, sore boobs and constipation from the start oh taking it - oh the joys, hopefully worth it one day 😂

Mrsrmcc · 30/03/2024 09:02

ah the tww is the absolute worst 😂. And progesterone is to be fair lol it’s a mind fuck cos the symptoms are the same as early pregnancy which is annoying! How are you feeling are you optimistic? Have you tested to see if the trigger shot is out your system yet?

yes I’m good we decided to fly out to france just for the mental break from everything so glad we did. Bleedings really slowed down and had a couple of days of really bad cramps and some questionable stuff coming out but dr google told me it’s just the pregnancy lining coming away as it’s thicker than non pregnancy. Spoke to my ivf clinic too who said we could crack on with ivf as soon as my next period arrives but I think we’re gonna have a break get Florida out the way and start again June time when we’re back

xx

@Mrsrmcc I wrote quite a long reply to this and then my phone crashed so I lost it 🙃 to summarise:

Yeah it definitely mimics pregnancy symptoms, especially on this higher dose now, my boobs are bigger and fuller and I've had pain since ovulation. I'm trying to stay as neutral as possible really, I know my chances are slightly better with the medicated cycle with multiple follicles but I can't get my hopes up otherwise I end up even more devastated if it doesn't work. I've not tested it out no, I think I'd end up obsessive over it and not too sure I'd like the waste of the strip tests. But if we end up having to have another cycle I might try it out of interest!

Aww that sounds lively, enjoy! Any particular plans whilst you're there? 😊glad the bleeding has slowed but still never nice you've had to go through it :( ooh that's exciting that you'd be able to start ivf soon. But yeah definitely enjoy your trip to Florida 😍
