@ExhaustedPigeon1988
YES I found that aswell, I always took them out of the fridge about 20 mins before and I had no problems.
I also cottoned on late 🤣 that numbing my tummy first also really helped with the bruising

Btowngirl · 15/02/2024 10:40

@MotherOfShihTzus how are you doing today, did you test again?

things are progressing nicely for everyone that’s so great!

@Lasagne30 sadly not, I hoped embryo transfer day was day 1 too but I looked it up and it’s day 0 apparently 🥲

MotherOfShihTzus · 15/02/2024 10:57

Yes great to see people progressing :)

@Btowngirl I got myself so overwhelmed that I got signed off work at the drs last night 😞 he's wants me to not test til otd Sunday so will try my best! It's done nothing but drive me insane and cause so much anxiety. How about you? How are you feeling?

Btowngirl · 15/02/2024 11:08

@MotherOfShihTzus aw no that’s no good sorry you’re having such a rough time! Hopefully being signed off work will give you a bit of breathing space ❤️ quite hard not to become obsessive isn’t it tbh, feels like emotional warfare. Also the hormones don’t help, I’ve not been this angry and erratic since I was a teenager I don’t think 🙈 all ok this side thanks. I’ve tested again this morning and all looks good, but I won’t be confident to say I am pregnant until 1. After Monday and then 2. After viability scan xx

MotherOfShihTzus · 15/02/2024 11:57

@Btowngirl arghh so hard to know what to do! Each day I think; 'I'll be happy if I can see clear progression today' but then it's not enough for me to feel safe? So glad yours have progressed! On this journey it's sad that each stage is punctuated with relief instead of joy - BUT you'll get your baby so it's all worth it ❤️

Sherr33 · 15/02/2024 19:47

Hi all

I hope everyone is okay

I've had such bad back pain today due to period. And I'm super duper tired.

We did our first injection gonal f 225 🙃 i snapped and worried about whether my partner was setting up right and then I just said il be quiet and put my head down till he was ready. And then I was getting panicky when he was going to injection then I need the toilet!!! And hes like baby its ready now look away so I shut my eyes and before I knew he was counting to 5 and then took it out. Then I panicked and said omg is that a drop of med still on the needle and he made a joke saying ooo the last drop that the eggys absolutely need and we just cracked up. I felt a slight sting and then ik not sure if its in my head but I felt like I could feel the medicine inside lol oh god all that excitement has exhausted me I just want to sleep! Instead I've warmed up some chocolate and having that with strawberries and marshmallows. 🙃

@Sherr33 well done on getting your first injection over with! Hopefully the first one will be the worst and will only be easier from here 😊 chocolate, mallows and strawberries as a reward sounds great

Cat191 · 15/02/2024 20:02

@Sherr33 well done the 1st one is always the hardest cos ya don't know what to expect and its not in your head cos I could feel the medicine going in aswel it's a weird feeling

Sherr33 · 15/02/2024 20:33

Thank you @180monkeys @Cat191 wow reading that post back you can tell how I quickly typed it all haha. So many ands. 🙈

I needed a treat 😌 🍓 are a fruit so I didnt feel too bad haha

Lasagne30 · 15/02/2024 21:04

@Sherr33 It's good he's got a sense of humour-my partner is the same and I find it very calming.
If you don't laugh you'll cry lol
Good luck with the rest! Before you know it it'll just be part of your morning routine 👍

Sherr33 · 16/02/2024 08:38

Im taking my injections in evening because il have a time where he can do that so around half 6. In the mornings sometimes he leaves for work early so cant have them same time everyday. I don't think il ever be okay watching a needle go into me 🤮 but somehow when I worked as a HCA at a gp practice I was perfectly fine jabbing other people 😀

I don't know what it was but I was extremely gassy last night I woke up at 11 as I couldn't sleep. I felt so hot and bothered. I was on YouTube till 3 and then switched my phone off and lay there still unable to sleep. Must have dozed off because next thing I knew the 6am alarm was going off. I hope its not like this throughout stims 😩

How is everybody getting on?

I cant believe next week Friday will be my scan to see how I'm doing 🙈🙈

OP posts:
180monkeys · 16/02/2024 08:57

@Sherr33 are you going to be taking stims and the injection to stop ovulation in the evening? My calendar just said stims evening and the other one morning but I would much prefer to do them both in the evening so don’t feel rushed for work or anything. Might send my clinic a message and see what they say.

Aw hopefully your symptoms from last night don’t continue through your stims!! And that’s exciting your scan is next week, all moving so quickly!!

yesterday was my last night on northisterone and thankfully didn’t get any symptoms from it. So drug free for a week now to have period then first injection next Friday. I’m so excited to get properly started but also nervous

TT82 · 16/02/2024 09:06

@180monkeys hi, I was taking stimulation injection and ganirelix both in the evening, dr said no problem at all. Definitely ask your clinic if both in the evening are better

buttonfour · 16/02/2024 09:44

Joining thread! 35, doing ICSI due to male factor.

Am with King's Fertility. First round. Egg collection yesterday and got 10 eggs. Got the call today that 7 was mature and 4 fertilised. Will get a call in a few days to see how it develops. We are doing PGTA testing.

I am so nervous now that the number has dropped from 10 to 4 and it's only day 1 post egg collection. I know the number can drop more as days progress and also with PGTA testing (which has pros/cons attached to it). We ultimately decided on PGTA because 50% of miscarriages are due to abnormal chromosomes and HFEA has shown it can help reduce miscarriage. Now anxious we choose to do testing with small numbers 🥹

Sherr33 · 16/02/2024 10:09

@180monkeys I was told I could do it evening or morning for both but ive found personally that evening will just work out better. I was terrible on norethisterone. You'll be waiting for AF to arrive during that wait then...ive never wanted a period so bad haha thankfully mine came like clockwork. Hope so because I dare not think how I'm going to be without a good night's sleep.

@TT82 how are you doing?

@buttonfour well done on collection. The drop off is quite daunting but we've all got our fingers crossed. I hope this month is it for all of us 🙏 did you choose to have pgta testing or was this something your consultant recommended?

How's everyone else? How many are in the TWW?

OP posts:
TT82 · 16/02/2024 10:26

@Sherr33 all good so far, a bit down and sleep not best, but compared to last two times it is actually pretty good! Monday last day on the pill. Cannot wait to start injections and like move on (next Friday only).
Well done on going through injections!! I actually do into my upper leg, I think I would be scared to do into my tummy 🫣 Luckily dr insisted only upper leg 😅

@Sherr33 it was not something our consultant recommended as we don't have any previous symptoms and our age is still okay (35). I inquired about it and after hearing the PGTA consultant speak about it, my hubby and I decided to go for it (mostly because it helps reduce miscarriage and it is essentially a selection/vetting tool). There were some 2% margin of error and testing problems but we felt okay with that. Now that I'm seeing the drop off (not even to day 5), I am really scared!!!!!

taytay2020 · 16/02/2024 10:55

Hi everyone, I'm starting stims on Monday so I hope it's ok to join this thread now! I was definitely not in the zone when it was set up in January but I've caught up with all your posts now.

I'm 35, never been pg, this is our 2nd cycle of ICSI due to MF.

Our 1st cycle last year went well up to the point that only 1 of my 9 mature eggs fertilised, even though we used ICSI. This time they're keeping the same protocol but adding PICSI (more sperm selection) and Calcium Ionophore (injected along with the sperm to hopefully boost energy to get fertilised and to blastocyst stage).

I'm higher risk of OHSS due to high egg count, but it was fine last time - google suggested lots of protein and stay hydrated, so I used an app to track my water intake and ate a lot of pork pies and cheese. I definitely gained weight 😂

So far this cycle I've taken norethisterone for 10 days. I've had serious insomnia for most of this time and it was only DH suggesting this morning that it might've been the norethisterone that made me realise that, duh, of course it is! So I'm looking forward to more sleep next week, even if I'm dreading the injections (I hate them!)

Looking forward to seeing your updates as everyone's cycles progress! Good luck everyone!

Cat191 · 16/02/2024 12:08

Hi everyone had egg collection this morning not as great as what I taught they only could get one egg there was no egg in the other follicle so fingers crossed this egg will make it.. they will let me know tomorrow of it fertilised and if it is mature

Faith2024 · 16/02/2024 13:31

Glad to see everyone is making progress.

@Cat191 fingers crossed it will be Ok.

@180monkeys it depends on what injection you are taking for suppressing ovulation I think? My consultant said luteinising hormone rises in the morning so I had to take cetrotide at 7 am but it’s possible other clinics do it differently.

@buttonfour we are also doing PGT-A but we are in our early 40s so it makes sense for us.

Scan today with blood-work means EC on Sunday for us. 6-4 follicles. Looking forward to it, just to progress.

180monkeys · 16/02/2024 13:59

@Faith2024 ah ok, mine will be cetrotide too so probably why it has been scheduled for the morning. Will just have to get up early and be organised! Lol.

that’s great you have your collection on Sunday. Good luck for it!

Sherr33 · 16/02/2024 14:03

@Cat191 fingers crossed for you

@buttonfour oh okay. I think it was for this reason we didn't do that as an add on just thought its first cycle and dont want it to be where I'm left with nothing so we opted for embryo glue as additional treatment.

@TT82 ah id freak out more in leg. Oh not long left I just got a text to confirm my appointment for Friday eeek I feel like everything's happening quite fast

I haven't heard about embryo glue. What is this? Now I'm worried whether I should change my decision and whether I can still update the decision when I get my blastocyst update...

Bnichols89 · 16/02/2024 17:59

@Cat191 really keeping my fingers crossed for you, you only need one and hopefully this is the one 🤞🏻

We had our second scan today and all on track so we're booked for trigger on Monday night and egg collection on Wednesday. Feels very real now, just trying to take it easy and hoping for the best.

Prabs7 · 16/02/2024 18:09

@Sherr33 well done on the start of your injections! Not sure if it’s the stims or the mind running but I also had trouble sleeping the first few days and woke up 2am and couldn’t get to sleep! Was fine after a few days though.

Have my egg collection in the morning! Hoping for a few good ones but I’ve done what I can on my part.. I’m just feel so full and slight struggle to walk I am looking forward to getting it done with. As I’m not doing a fresh transfer I will be looking forward to a few weeks to decompress before I hopefully have a transfer.

I will also be having a biopsy and curettage done at the same time as my lining is quite thick (maybe due to PCO), so they want to investigate and also give my lining a ‘fresh start’ in readiness for a transfer.

Wishing everyone the best.
