FET/IVF/ICSI - October 2033

Anyone due to start cycle/have transfer in October jump on board!

Little history:

TTC our first. Trying for 4 years. Officially unexplained but I only have one ovary that responds/works. Fertilisation issues. Positive Sperm Oxidative Stress Test (likely DNA Frag). So it’s really a bit of a mix.

Dec 22/Jan 23 - First ICSI cycle. 8 eggs, 6 mature, 2 fertilised. One poor blast to transfer. Nothing to freeze. BFN.

July 23 - Second ICSI cycle. Using AOA & ZyMot chip. 8 eggs, 8 mature, 4 fertilised. One fresh to transfer and 2 to freeze. BFN.

Oct 23 - First FET scheduled.

Currently waiting for my period to start so that FET cycle can start. Should start beginning of Oct, so FET likely towards end of the month.

Had a huge roast yesterday aswell. There were minimal amounts of veg on the plate 🙈. Ate like pure crap after the retrieval too.
I Think I definitely deserved it after going through ivf and I ate so well leading upto retrieval but I definitely let loose over the past week. I'm going to try and be strict during the tww as I know my blood sugars are a problem. Now that I've got the taste for the junk stuff its hard to curb it again .

@IVFKinster we really are going through identical cycles… I just started spotting too. I have such a knot in my stomach 😓

@IVFDublin I hope it’s implantation bleeding for you! I totally understand how it makes you feel though! It’s horrendous. I

I’ve been so paranoid all day. No spotting for me yet. We’ll see tomorrow- 8dp5dt is when it got worse and I was bleeding a small amount throughout the day.

I’ve had cramps on and off all day. Still full of cold tbh. I’m a bit fed up with it now.

@IVFDublin oh no! I'm sorry you're having it to ☹️ I wish you weren't. It's so horrible. I'm genuinely shocked at how I just spiralled into doom mongering. I just want to get into bed and stay there until OTD. I never want to go to the toilet ever again. My clinic phoned to do a check in call right after it happened (coincidence) and I told them and they basically shrugged down the phone as if it's not a big deal when I feel like I'm dying inside.

I spent so much of my day inbetween appointments looking up spotting stories and there are so many cos it's so common but literally none of them made me feel better.
I always get a hot flush before my period starts and have been having that all day so I know deep down.

We are going for a freeze all cycle. We are planning to do a transfer in a later cycle.

Got 4 embryos of varying qualities frozen.

1 6AB+
1 6B+A
1 6B+B+
1 6B+B-

I am clueless about the gradings. Any idea if they are ok ? Which grades are classed as good/average/poor ?

@biscuitsndtea your top two 6ab and 6ba are good quality and the 6bb average so odds are in your favour

I am sorry for those struggling in the TWW, I hope any spotting etc stops soon.

My clinic have just emailed to move my scan forward to CD8 rather than CD10 so that is good news. So will be in on Wednesday and hopefully will see some growing follicles!

Thanks to all those that replied to my cycle change concerns. At the end of the day…it will be what it will be, if cycle dates align I will do another retrieval soon.

Sending my regards to all of you in the TWW saga…it’s such a mental/emotional game at that point. I don’t know if I would cope any better than you girls. I’m a sucker for looking at forums/google searching and symptom spotting everything 🫣. But in my limited experience - unless the full flow arrives a gleam of hope still remains. In regards to testing, I commend you for the self-control, I’m not one that likes to be hanging in agony so when my turn comes I will definitely be an early 7-8dpt tester 😅 I will probably not tell my husband straight away and just test for a couple of days and keep the results to myself (either way it goes) until I’m sure of the outcome 😬

@4thcyclelucky had never seen this grading chart, thanks for posting. I’m so clueless about grading systems/quality of embryos as they differ from place to place. Wish I knew a bit more ahead of my meeting with consultant in a few weeks time.

@biscuitsndtea 4 embryos gives you a good shot 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻do you have an idea of when you would like to transfer? Are you doing any genetic testing?

Hi everyone hope you all doing good .. so I went for day 6 scan today and I’m half disappointed with the follicle growth 😭 I had 6 10mm and over 4 between 7/8mm and the rest below 6 which probably won’t grow … she didn’t seem bothered and said that’s about right I go back Friday which will be day 10 do they usually grow and catch up on the other half of stims I’m worrying myself silly now 😭 so disappointed

@Millie89xx Those numbers still sound good! They always got more eggs for me than they saw on the scans. Quality over quantity.

@Lauralozzle really.? This is my first cycle so I don’t have anything to go off .. she did say though they don’t expect to get an egg from every follicle though do they grow at a more rapid pace on the second week.?! Mine seem small 😭

@ViVRe We are not going for PGS testing. We were in oscillation and then decided not to.

@Millie89xx Dont worry, They look very normal to me.
at my day 6, I got only 1 at 10mm at day 6. a few at 9 , 8, 7 and few < 6.

Most of the ones > 6 were fine in the later scans. They will be progressing in the day 8 scans.

@Millie89xx Really! Yes, my numbers on first scan were 2/3 about 8 and everything else lower than that.

My first cycle scan on higher dose - I was nearly ready but my eggs were crap! A longer stim on my second cycle worked well for me!

So yesterday I officially made it without spotting. Today I will hope the same. I really do feel like my period is about to start though! I’m a bit scared to test tomorrow- maybe I won’t 🤔

@Lauralozzle so glad to hear you've not had any spotting. That's such a good sign and secretly I think your cold is a good sign too. I've got everything crossed you're going to get a positive this time around 🤞 you've been through enough!

@Lauralozzle thats great news!! Mine has seemed to have temporarily stopped… though yesterday certainly tempered my previous confidence!!

@Millie89xx from what I gather it's really not unusual to be at that stage on day 6. If they were worried they'd be talking about changing something so it sounds like you're on the right track! Hard not to worry when it's such an unknown process!

@ViVRe that's exactly how I've been during this tww without expecting it 😂 I think I've clicked on every symptom page for 5,6,7 dp5dt in existence!

But now worrying if they are good enough grades. There is always something to worry about in this journey.

Meriofert for me this evening and then CD8 scan tomorrow. So nervous about how that goes.
