Has anyone used one of these before?

I sent my sample away this morning first thing and just wondering the timescale everyone received results in? Online it says 2 working days so thinking it won’t be until Monday now 🙈🙈🙈

I used them earlier this year and it's two working days from when they acknowledge receipt into their labs. One of mine I sent off on a Thursday and didn't get results until end of day on Tuesday. It was very frustrating to have to wait so long...

LongerthanMrTicklesarms · 10/08/2023 11:42

I used medichecks for some blood hormone level tests but for my beta tests used a private GP in order to have the results quicker. I was able to have tests a few days apart to check the levels were increasing as hoped.
Anyway hope you get the results as soon as possible!

Ellenn · 10/08/2023 13:45

Thanks @kirstysmbc how annoying, I was really hoping they would give me the results on Monday but maybe not! I will probably know by then if my period hasn’t arrived yet as I’m 9dp5dt now so due to bleed imminently ….. 😳

@LongerthanMrTicklesarms whereabouts is the private GP is it online? I’m based up in Scotland and it’s so limited to get private blood tests especially with quick turnaround 😢

@Ellenn Would your fertility clinic do them for you? I ended up using a different IVF clinic just for beta blood tests for my next round. My own clinic is a 45 minute drive away. Or Google private gp near me...

Ellenn · 10/08/2023 14:17

@kirstysmbc no they have said only take the normal urine test at 14dp5dt! Couldn’t find anywhere that was easy to get an appointment/has fast turn around so decided I’d just go with medichecks as it actually seemed the quickest turnaround!

@Ellenn Did you try looking just for a private GP rather than specifically for a beta test? I know there are places near me that you can get same day air appts. If not, fingers crossed medichecks will come back quickly. Have you done a home test?

Ellenn · 10/08/2023 14:24

@kirstysmbc i had googled private beta test maybe I should of looked for GP that’s where I was going wrong. Not a lot of options in Scotland. Not sure if I will bother with another one or not if it works.

I just did at home test this morning wi tbh a finger prick 😊 got it in the priority postbox at 7am just incase the postie got there early 🤣

I’m not doing any urine tests as I have had multiple ovitrelle before/after transfer so don’t want a false positive if it’s really faint. Think should be fairly obvious level yes/no on the medichecks beta by now though

@Ellenn if you click "no doctors comments" you will get the result quicker. I have found I get the result the day it gets to the lab or at the latest the next day.

kirstysmbc · 10/08/2023 17:05

@Gardenlady543 This is an awesome tip, will def do this if I use them again!

Ellenn · 10/08/2023 18:04

@Gardenlady543 oohh great tip I didn’t realise you would get it sooner but I did tick that! So maybe I might get it before Monday 😳 I won’t get my hopes up though. I’m assuming the lab won’t be open at weekends/run tests but the parcel did say tracked 24 hr so think would arrive tomorrow morning ….

Gardenlady543 · 10/08/2023 18:07

@Ellenn if it's in the lab I call up the number and ask if they can prioritise it. Sometimes I get someone unhelpful that says they are prioritised as hcg tests anyway but others actually seem to do something. The results come through at random times, I thought it's a Mon to Fri 9-5 thing but I got a hcg result at 7pm on a Saturday and another result came through once on the evening of New Year's Day.

Ellenn · 10/08/2023 18:11

@Gardenlady543 ooh interesting didn’t realise you could call the lab direct - are those numbers on the medichecks website?

OP posts:
Gardenlady543 · 10/08/2023 18:23

@Ellenn yea it's the customer care number I think it comes up on the home page.

Ellenn · 11/08/2023 12:38

So the lab received my sample this morning and have confirmed it’s being processed, just going to keep my fingers crossed I get a result soon 🤞🤞 I’m so impatient right now 🙈

Walker12 · 11/08/2023 13:53

Hi@Ellenn, I sent one on Monday and got the results Weds about 3pm. Once it had gone to the 'testing in process' stage it was only a few hrs later that the result came in. So fingers crossed you get it today!

Walker12 · 11/08/2023 13:54

(I was also repeatedly checking the portal for updates!!)

Ellenn · 11/08/2023 13:56

@Walker12 oooh that’s exciting thanks for letting me know! Will check see what the status is when I get back home. Think unlikely I’d get today but I get still 🤞

OP posts:
kirstysmbc · 11/08/2023 13:57

@Ellenn fingers crossed you get a quick response!

Walker12 · 11/08/2023 14:00

@Ellenn no worries, really hope its good news for you!

Ellenn · 11/08/2023 15:56

@Walker12 so it says when I log in under my pending tests ‘sample received’ so don’t think we are quite at the processing bit. I will be repeatedly checking incase it changes though (assume it changes here?) 🙈 argh the wait is horrible!!

OP posts:
kirstysmbc · 11/08/2023 16:00

@Ellenn The labs work on a Saturday, but not sure if they release results on a Saturday as well...

Walker12 · 11/08/2023 16:07

@Ellenn ah yes so it will change to something like 'testing in process' (can't remember the exact phrase) so it may not be today, but I would be fairly sure you’ll get them on Monday latest. Hope you have something nice planned to distract yourself over the weekend!
Sorry to derail your thread but I recognise you from a thread I started a few months ago asking about the IVF process as I was completely new to it all- you were so lovely and helpful, thank you. And I've been extremely lucky so far (other than a brief hospital admission for bloody OHSS!), I'm 5w3d today and hoping beyond hope that it all works out! Will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Ellenn · 11/08/2023 16:36

@Walker12 awww thanks that’s so nice for you to say😊 I’ve found it super helpful these discussions as sometimes it’s so lonely going through fertility treatment and just the I known isn’t it 🤷‍♀️

Will keep refreshing it anyway constantly 🤣🤣🤣

yes I seem to end up being on a few threads and then I loose track 🙈 that’s amazing news!!! Do you have a scan date?

OP posts:
Walker12 · 11/08/2023 16:45

@Ellenn Yes it's a lonely and slightly insane world isn't it! Have learnt so much in the last 6 weeks it's a whirlwind to say the least.
I was you, madly refreshing, earlier this week.. They do email you about the results but I convinced myself I might miss it 😂 and I had already had a result, but kept doubting it and became a bit obsessed. What does this process do to us!
Thank you, scan is on the 22nd so a bit of a wait still, which is torture, but I'm trying to stay positive and appreciate where I've got to each day 😊
