Has anyone used one of these before?

I sent my sample away this morning first thing and just wondering the timescale everyone received results in? Online it says 2 working days so thinking it won’t be until Monday now 🙈🙈🙈

Incase anyone looking up this thread my sample was sent Thursday morning and got my results Saturday morning! Was quite disappointed as hoped for either negative or high positive but got 55. A few people had said that it should be >100 at 9dp5dt. I’ve done a clearblue which is saying 2-3 yesterday and a normal test so I think my levels are increasing but not getting hopes up yet. I’m going to beg my clinic to repeat the hcg to check it’s doubling ok x

Ahh @Ellenn those are very positive tests!! I am cautiously hopeful for you. I get what you mean about the 55 being a little low but I think the doubling is often much more important than the actual number. I've done a lot of obsessive googling about it all since having them, seen so many stories of people where it starts low but climbs nicely and everything works out- but totally understand you not wanting to get your hopes up too much.
Have got everything crossed for you.

kirstysmbc · 14/08/2023 11:08

@Ellenn That's a great sign, fingers crossed for more positive news later this week 🤞🤞

Lapforendo · 14/08/2023 12:54

Was it FET? Those results are often lower than fresh. Congrats OP!

Ellenn · 14/08/2023 13:05

@Lapforendo yes was for FET 😊 I’m trying to stay neutral but will definitely want to confirm the levels are actually going up normally. Hopefully my clinic will do it if I beg them! My very first fresh transfer my levels was 75 and ended in biochemical so was just worried it might repeat again but just going to have to keep going and try not to obsess too much!

@Walker12 you do get so consumed by everything don’t you 😳 it’s impossible not to google literally everything you can think of!

Lapforendo · 14/08/2023 14:28

@Ellenn anything over 50 is great for FET 😊

Ellenn · 14/08/2023 14:55

@Lapforendo thanks 🥰 I really hope it is! Just so many people say you need over 100 at that stage so was disappointed. Hopefully it will stick around. OTD is tomorrow so excited to phone up the clinic and hopefully get my lubion 😳

are you having fertility treatment at the moment?

OP posts:
Lapforendo · 14/08/2023 15:06

@Ellenn not at the moment but I had a successful FET and my figure was also under 100. I was very worried about it at the time but I was assured by my clinic that they look for 100 or over for fresh transfers and 50 or over for frozen transfers

Ellenn · 14/08/2023 15:35

@Lapforendo thats so reassuring to hear! I hadn’t realised their was different numbers for fresh/frozen but it does make sense. Thanks for letting me know x

@Ellenn have you called your clinic yet??

Ellenn · 15/08/2023 13:01

@ASGIRC yes, they have given me scan date on the 31st august at 7 weeks 😳 hopefully I get that far. They wouldn’t do any bloods, I tried to convince them but didn’t work 😢 so I’m not sure if I will do another medichecks or just leave it now was really hoping they would just do one

OP posts:
kirstysmbc · 15/08/2023 14:21

@Ellenn Good to have that scan date booked. My clinic wouldn't do bloods either, until after I did two sets that showed a lack of progression and I forced them in to an early scan (also didn't show what they expected) and follow up bloods. I think if you are willing to pay the extra, they should just do them anyway. If you're anxious, perhaps another test will help put you at ease? Keeping everything crossed it's just a late implanter and now progressing nicely

LongerthanMrTicklesarms · 15/08/2023 14:21

Is it an NHS clinic? Otherwise I don't see why they wouldn't do a blood test if you're willing to pay. I would do another myself in a few days for peace of mind. Hopefully you'll find it reassuring.

Ellenn · 15/08/2023 17:26

Yes its an NHS clinic. I think the EPU only do bloods if you are bleeding/spotting. I think I will just have to do any medichecks and then leave it at that, hope for the best 🤞

I need to go and collect lubion tomorrow so I will ask again and try and get a blood done, with a shot 🙈

@Ellenn honestly, I wouldn't do another beta so ling after your previous one.
A better option would be to do another digital weeks in a few days, when your hcg might be above the 2700 ish for the 3+ weeks.
And pee on sticks to see that line progress.

Betas are only really helpful when done in 48h intervals. And particularly once levels go above 1200,the doubling might slow.
And you know for a fact that your level doubled.
POAS from now on.
My line go darker until I was about 18dpt.

Ellenn · 15/08/2023 21:31

@ASGIRC already ordered the medichecks one 🙈 I do have one clearblue weeks test which I thought I’d do next week as it should be at 3+ weeks then. Just want to make sure the number is still going up since that’s the only way I found out about the biochemical on one of my transfers….

My line is already as dark as control line so not sure if it will go any darker for urine tests? Did the official test this morning and they looked the same so hoping that’s a good sign 🤞

your scan must be soon? How many weeks are you now?

OP posts:
kirstysmbc · 15/08/2023 21:33

@ASGIRC This isn't what I've been told in the past. Betas should be at least 48 hours apart, but can be done further apart. Some places will do them weekly initially. I was also told the levels of increase don't start to slow down until around 6000. I don't place much reliance on clearblue personally, I got 3+ weeks one day and a blood beta of 2000 the next day...

Ellenn · 15/08/2023 21:40

@kirstysmbc I had heard about clearblue sometimes being dodgey with the 3+ wks seems like it’s not reliable to the exact level of hcg. That’s why I think I will wait until start of next week as don’t want to worry myself unneccessarily!

OP posts:
kirstysmbc · 15/08/2023 21:45

@Ellenn I think the medichecks one is a great idea to get that peace of mind. There are some really useful doubling calculators online which will easily show you if the numbers are rising normally. One of my friends didn't ever get 3+ on a clearblue and tested every week up to 8 weeks, her son is now 2.5 🤷🏻‍♀️

ASGIRC · 15/08/2023 21:49

@kirstysmbc some people in the July group did betas later and the levels werent the "expected". As they hadnt doubled in the correct way. Cue an emergency scan, with everything being well.
Doubling slows after 1200 and then again after 6000.

@Ellenn if its as dark as the control, then yeah, it wont darken more. But the fact that it is as dark is a good sign! I had a beta of 335 on 9dpt and my line still darkened for a good week after that. Then it plateaud.
If youve ordered the medichecks, then I guess theres no harm in doing it! But if you line is strong, it isnt a chemical! Of that you can be sure!!

My scan is thursday!! I am currently 6+4!

kirstysmbc · 15/08/2023 22:00

@ASGIRC I'm glad it worked out for them, I had levels above 1200 that weren't doubling as expected (I was told they should double within 72 hours) and in my case a scan showed that all wasn't well and it was the first sign of an impending miscarriage. The clinic that did the test and the scan told me they should go up within that timescale up to 6000, roughly 6 weeks, before they start to slow down.

I hope everything goes well at your scan, you should see a heartbeat then which is super exciting 😊

ASGIRC · 15/08/2023 22:03

@kirstysmbc yeah, but 48 and 72h is very different, and people end up panicking if it isnt doubling in the 48h timeframe, not taking the 72h into account!
Thats why I said it is probably risky. I ended up not doing a second one, as it would be way past the week later, and my levels would have been above 6000 by then, and I didnt want that stress!

Oh yes! im very excited! Also kinda dreading going in and being told things are not well... But thats more of a back on the mind fear, not whats at the forefront!

Ellenn · 15/08/2023 22:31

@kirstysmbc oh gosh that’s crazy! Definitely will try not let myself get carried away if I don’t get 3+ wks then!! So sorry to hear about your miscarriage, they are awful and so cruel. I definitely am in the mindset I would rather get a heads up now if something isn’t quite right, then I can prepare myself. Are you thinking about starting a new cycle/transfer soon or taking a break?

@ASGIRC I don’t think my level will be higher than 1200 tbh since it was only 55 on Thursday, that’s if my test arrives tomorrow and I send it off! Suppose it starts to rocket up quite quickly. Maybe it depends what test you use how dark/light lines you get? On Sunday the normal boots test was almost the same colour as test line. Today definitely the same.

That must be so exciting 🥰 you need to keep us updated!! I’m sure there will be a perfect wee baby in there!!

I’m counting down the days for my scan now and hoping I never see red in my pants 🙈 I’m laughing but I’m actually obsessed I think after the outcome of my last transfers. It just makes you so paranoid

OP posts:
Ellenn · 15/08/2023 22:34

@ASGIRC I think if you miscarry before 6 wks (ie. Not visible on scan) it is also classed as a biochemical pregnancy. I miscarried at 5 wks despite positive tests etc but my beta hcg didn’t double unfortunately 😢 infertility journeys are not fun!

OP posts:
ASGIRC · 15/08/2023 22:39

@Ellenn they definitely arent!

But so far, your hcg levels seems to have doubled already, from 50 to at least 150. So thats a good first sign!

And only 2 weeks until your scan!!
