@Caubabatko I have 5/6 follicles on my right side but there were only 3 after the highest dose of stims. On my left there was nothing. I am not sure how many are usually on my left as they usually cannot find it.

@Purtyburty it only takes one egg to have a baby, keep yours happy with affirmations! Is 3 normal for you or do you usually get more follicles on scans?

@BlueMumma2018 I bloated too, gentle exercises like fertility yoga made me feel much better and I managed to have a massage session the day before EC, with the belly down!

Except I wasnt priscribed Primolut, I think you're on a short antagonist protocol like me. In my first cycle I had 9 eggs harvested with 225iu after being told 8, so you might get more. That clinic was keen on ICSI so we did half and half. Then even though morphology was low(0.5%) other sperm parameters were good enough 80% of eggs with conventional insemination fertilised.
We spoke to a couple of other CZ clinics since and Olomouc was the first one who was willing to do PGT-A without ICSI.

The clinic only needs you physically for Day 10 scan onwards if you can do Day 6-8 scan locally. We had both scans there, but you can arrive as late as Day 9 to stay 6-7 nights at a minimum.
If you're thinking of banking embryos or a full cycle in CZ straight after your current one, maybe schedule a call with Dr Machac for a date after your PGT-A results. You can always cancel if it turns out you have enough euploid embryos. We first got in touch in May and was technically ready to start on the June cycle, but after paperwork and due to dr's availability, the earliest we could start was the cycle after so here I am!

@Caubabatko really appreciate all the info!! Need to discuss with my husband as he travels a lot and I am the one who takes care of our son (daughter is adult now). So abroad clinic a bit of a problem.

One thing I found really useful is to pack a sandwich as I was told to fast from midnight. Otherwise I'd have had to eat sugary chocolate croissants from the clinic.

After EC, they advised me to eat a lot of protein and drink plenty water with magnesium to prevent constipation. Was doing alright in the first week but constipation now kicked in! Started taking Lactulose😫

Hi all, just an update, back from EC this morning. All went well, funny enough probably the best part of all this - you are out of control, sleeping:)
They collected 8 eggs, no idea how many mature.. they will call us only next Monday with full report on how many if any they took for PGTA...no intermediate calls! Oh maybe better this way 😬 Then next EC cycle in 6 weeks..

@TT82 Fingers crossed for the fertilisation & embryo cultivation outcomes!
You're so lucky to have two children already and a good AMH, I've heard that if you've given birth before you're more likely to get pregnant.
Not sure if this will work for you, but with a fraction of the money you save you could theoretically pay your daughter to look after her brother for a week - just a thought.

@Caubabatko thank you, yes you are right, it can be solved. We didn't research this all before we started ivf, we worried not to waste time, so went with Zurich hospital. They are very good in all the surgical, testing etc. but communication could have been better...it is like with normal huge hospital, to get any information or call - you should book appointment.
Today missed their call and because they told me no updates till Monday next week, I straight away thought if the worst- none eggs made it! Then on top got email with telephone consultation appointment with our dr for next Thursday!! 😱 I thought if it is not now even urgent, definitely no good news... But apparently that's when our dr had a slot.... next Thursday only 🤷🏻‍♀️So I will be in a dark till then

None of our friends or family even suspects we are planning a baby! So apart from you all, cannot discuss this with anyone :(

Hey 😊 hope you’re all getting on ok. Congratulations on successful egg retrieval!

I had my first scan yesterday day 7 and there were around 16 follicles so have started ganerelix yesterday. Hoping to mature these now! From what I remember I had about the same first time around

@TT82 last time I had over 30 and got 16 eggs so I have no idea what i will get this time it’s like a lucky bag lol.

my consultant said it would be next week, but they would confirm the day on Friday 😊 looking forward to getting them out I feel a little weighed down! How are you?

Agree this all like a gambling..never know the outcome or what's coming next
I am ok, still feeling a bit with a tummy and boobs hurt, but probably progesterone went over the roof or something, as if i am already pregnant 😅

@TT82 they collected 4 eggs which is what I was expected. The procedure was fine just feeling a bit sore. They will phone tomorrow to say how many were mature and fertilised. I expect 3 to be mature just based on sizes during the scans.

Hi everyone, struggling a little bit with my egg freezing cycles so I thought I’d reach out to see if anyone has any advice.

I’m 38, AMH 19, and AFC 16. I did one cycle back in June (short protocol on pergoveris) which didn’t go that well. The doctor wanted to cancel the cycle but I was too invested and we went ahead - 5 eggs were retrieved although given my stats he had expected 10-12.

Now I’m doing a second cycle (long protocol this time so I’ve been taking growth hormone and Buserelin for about 10 days already) and will stim with a combination of Meriofert and Pergoveris. I had my day 1 scan today and there are pretty much the same number of follicles as last time (14). Worried that this cycle will be the same as the last one :-(.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Everything I read seems to suggest women with my stats get more eggs. Not sure why my body is not responding. Hope it’s not the universe telling me this is not meant for me :-(.

@BlueMumma2018 16 is really good! Fingers crossed all or more will be collected, if your drs are like mine and underreport in US scans.

@TT82 Sounds like a story with NHS if I were with them! Let's hope for good news next week and focus on recovering from the egg harvesting!
Having to keep secret even with family members sounds tough. Hopefully you'll succeed and won't need to go abroad.

@Purtyburty Well done with the collection, how are you feeling today and did they phone you yet?

@Wildflower317 14 is still a great number! Is your long protocol for the eggs to grow more evenly? How were they in size this time?

@Caubabatko yes they have phoned - 3 were mature and one fertilised. I feel disappointed. Was hoping for two.

Went for another scan this morning and have 29 follicles but atleast half of them are a lot smaller. That’s what happened last time, I seem to get another burst of follicles randomly, last time they didn’t mature in time.

@Caubabatko Yes exactly. Last time there were a few dominant follicles and the other ones didn’t grow. This time they’re hoping it’s more even. But still, out of 14, only 7 are above 4mm so I’m told only they will likely respond to the stims.

@Purtyburty Sending you thoughts and positive energy! I don't know how old you are but have you discussed a fresh transfer? Putting together a few doctors' comments, if only one egg it's better to transfer fresh, and some clinics do day 3 transfers.

@BlueMumma2018 Do you have polycystic ovarian syndrome? I was asked by a clinic once b/c of a high follicle number for the age. Women with PCOS often have 30 or more. Maybe it's good that half of your follicles grew last time because if 20+, the dr might have to cancel the cycle to avoid severe OHSS.

@TT82 They use the same lab as my first clinic and the date of report from the last one was over 20 days from the EC so I'll just pray for best results until the end of August🙏
Feeling slightly slow and low on the energy, my acupuncturist recommended organ meat and minerals to restore the "jing" or life force energy that went with the 14 eggs!
