Looking for some buddies who have had a transfer recently. I had my frozen transfer on Tuesday 👀 looking for any suggestions to try and make me forget about it and not obsess too much 🙈

It is actually impossible not to obsess over it 🙈🙈🙈 the 2ww is a nightmare 😂

Emmcm7 · 04/08/2023 17:39

Hey! How are you feeling? I’ve literally joined tho site today in the hope someone else can keep me sane too! 🤦🏼‍♀️
we had FET on Thursday so currently 2dp5dt.
this is our second transfer our first was fresh a month before lockdown in 2020, successful with our son 💙
how’s it all going? X

Ellenn · 04/08/2023 18:08

@Emmcm7 hey! Welcome to the club. Trying hard to stay sane too 🙈 only 3dp5dt today as my transfer was on Tuesday for me. That’s lovely 🥰 here’s hoping for a sibling for him!

when is your OTD? Mine is 15/08 it’s so far away!

OP posts:
Emmcm7 · 04/08/2023 18:45

I honestly nearly poas today 😂 I’ve lost it already!
It’s 14/08 feels like forever away… are you feeling ok? Been doing the usual symptom checks? 😂
is this your first IVF cycle x

Ellenn · 04/08/2023 18:53

@Charming81 have you had a transfer recently?

OP posts:
Charming81 · 04/08/2023 20:28

I did, 19th July. Had a positive test but, considering I've had 2 chemical pregnancies, I am not very hopeful at the moment. Too soon! Let's hope for the best 🤞🏻🐞🍀

Ellenn · 04/08/2023 22:37

@Charming81 ooh how exciting! Actually remember seeing your name now. Did you manage to get another blood sample? It’s a horrible wait isn’t it

OP posts:
Charming81 · 05/08/2023 07:01

@Ellenn I am actually going today 🤞🏻🍀🐞

Ellenn · 05/08/2023 07:27

@Emmcm7 🙈 it’s so hard to wait isn’t it! Wish mine was sooner I think it has to be full 2 weeks as I’ve taken ovitrelle a few times due to being on a natural cycle. I’m on my second cycle of ivf with this being my 3rd transfer. What about you?

@Charming81 oooh exciting I hope it’s good news 🤞🤞🤞

OP posts:
Charming81 · 05/08/2023 08:27

@Ellenn I hope it too but I really struggle being positive. After 7 years trying with lots of other problems in the middle, 2 miscarriages, I believe it is impossible that it might go on. We'll see 🍀🐞🤞🏻

Hi I have a scan this Tuesday to check lining for transfer. I had a fresh transfer in 2021 and had our son in early 2022. Hopefully no 2 is on the cards for transfer. Not sure what the timings are after the scan on Tuesday. Anyone know? Currently on progynova since last sat. No nasty side effects just yet. Not looking forward to the pessaries.😫

Ellenn · 05/08/2023 19:30

@Ep2023 if your lining on the scan is good to go you will start progesterone and then have transfer 5 days later for blastocyst embryo 😊

im so glad I don’t have to take those pessaries on a natural transfer 🙈 they are the worst!

OP posts:
Ellenn · 05/08/2023 19:33

@Charming81 its such a horrible long journey isn’t it and you just don’t know when it will end which is hard 😢 when should you get your blood results? I’ve decided I’m going to take a medichecks blood test at 11dp5dt (unless my period has arrived before that) instead of doing normal test to stop me compulsively peeing on sticks 🙈

OP posts:
Charming81 · 05/08/2023 22:22

@Ellenn I should have them tomorrow.

My clinic only wanted a pregnancy test at 12dpt, but I have done a first test at 9dpt merely because I was about to run out of medicines and it it was negative I would have not bought them. But it was positive and I went for a private blood test at 11dpt.

DauntedAF · 06/08/2023 00:02

hi all, joining thos TWW train with you guys if that's ok. Transfer was on Thursday so I'm only two days later. @Emmcm7 looks like we're twinning on our transfer dates

My official test date is 15 august but think I'll do an at home test on Saturday / sunday the weekend before which would be 9/10 days post transfer. That's what I did last time and I think id prefer if I knew there was bad news ahead that I was at home rather than in work. (Same with good news too I suppose)

How are you ladies holding up?

Emmcm7 · 06/08/2023 07:06

@DauntedAF welcome to the hell of 2WW I’m really struggling this time, become all reclusive and cancelled all my plans this weekend, need to get into a positive headspace as this isn’t me!
How are you doing? I know I’ll cave and test on day 5 🙈 xx

Ellenn · 06/08/2023 08:52

@DauntedAF hey 👋 think I’ve seen you on other threads. How are you doing?

im being so paranoid have had a little cramping on/off on day of transfer and last couple of days. No idea if good signs or if I’m just been obsessive about it all 🤣 I did have cramps with my other transfers and they ended up positive but it seems symptoms can vary massively. I’ve planned ‘fun distractions’ every day to see if I can pass the time! My OTD is the same as yours but planning on using the medichecks blood test maybe on Thursday/Friday this week? Will see!

@Emmcm7 its got to be the worst wait ever isn’t it 😳 just wish you could go forward in time and skip this stage

OP posts:
Ep2023 · 06/08/2023 13:03

@Ellenn Oh don't lol the nurse didn't make it sound that bad!! What way are they the worst?
I'm on progynova at moment and all going OK. I think!!

How are you doing? 😀the waiting is the worse and over thinking.

I did a natural cycle and I'm on 6 bloody pessaries a day!!!
The medication protocol depends on the clinics and doctors, not so much on what type of cycle you're doing!

@Ep2023 they are MESSY! You put them in, and then they leak the whole day long.
You need to wear pads all day, every day.
Unless you do them in the back door, but that depends on the brand/type you're prescribed, not all of them can be inserted that way.
Otherwise, I've not had any issues with them... Just the disgusting buttery/greasy discharge and the sour milk smell it has! 😂

@Charming81 I had my beta on 9dpt and am debating another one this week (the earliest I can do it), but since the doubling every 2 days tapers off after a while, I'm not sure it is such a good idea, in case the number isn't what I expect it to be!
Hope yours comes back as high as expected!!

DauntedAF · 06/08/2023 13:14

@Emmcm7 I'm grand really. Away this weekend with family so that's keeping me busy. If I don't keep busy I'll drown in Google and my own head so trying to fill my days. Just find time going sooooooo slow. Oh best of luck on day 5. I'm never any good at spotting whether Theres a line or not at that stage 🫣

@Ellenn oh great that were the same test date. What are those blood checks?? Never heard of them! I was just gonna go first response urine test. I've had zero sumpto s and feeling guilty everytime I lift my toddler (which is a lot!) In case I'm not supposed to be

Ellenn · 06/08/2023 13:20

@ASGIRC yeh clinics seem to do very different protocols! I only start taking lubion if I get a positive test (that’s due to previous miscarriages after transfer). They told me it wouldn’t impact implantation not having progesterone before then 🫣 the pessaries make you go through pants at a rate, I had to have a clear out last time!

@DauntedAF the medichecks hcg is just a finger prick and you need to post it to get results. I’d rather do that than test early and wonder if it’s a ‘good enough’ line especially as I’ve had a biochemical previously. It is a lot more expensive than the urine tests but if it makes me stop compulsively peeing on sticks (you end up blowing a lot of money anyway!) then I will do it!

OP posts:
ASGIRC · 06/08/2023 13:25

@Ellenn mine have been fine, as I've had pads on at all times! All my pants are part of matching sets, so I can't afford to have them get ruined!! 😂
Injections seem worse than pessaries! Why can't you just take them orally, like a normal person?!?! 😂😂😂

Ellenn · 06/08/2023 13:46

@ASGIRC they always caught me out though, maybe I just had really bad pads no idea 🙈 it was just such a mess!

I really wish we could take progesterone orally that would be amazing! I feel like some of the fertility stuff is oh don’t worry women will do it anyway we ask let’s not look at the best way for them to administer. Bet if it was men taking it they would of found a better way!

OP posts:
ASGIRC · 06/08/2023 13:59

@Ellenn the leaflet on mine says they can be taken orally and vaginally!
And they look exactly the same as my pregnacare tablets, only a different colour!

I just don't understand why orally is just for "progesterone deficiency" and vaginally "for IVF treatments".

Feels like they picked it at random 😂😂😂

Ellenn · 06/08/2023 14:12

@ASGIRC ooh nurses have told me before when I asked that it’s better absorption vaginally/rectally unfortunately. Although I have no idea why I need to take the injections instead of pessaries if the transfer works 🤷‍♀️
