I’m due to start my second round of FET in August so thought I would set up this group for some treatment buddies ❤️

@KG1244 oh I didn't know you could have progesterone as injections. I wonder if it's a stronger dose?

@Peonies19 how did it go with the doctor today?

@GCS34 how are you finding treatment so far? I completely get why you feel that way, everything is so unpredictable in IVF, its an anxiety nightmare! Really hoping it goes your way this time!

I'm still waiting on my period! Typical that it's a week late...I blame the PCOS for that one. Just want to start now and get it on the way

Hey guys! I just thought I'd join is as I'm in week 1 of treatment, with first progress scan Saturday. @Peonies19 reading your post - sorry that one has retracted a little. I have had this myself previously (but on OI not IVF). They seemed to think the 2 that were really big ruptured? I was like what surely not, but my lining wouldn't thicken up and my body just stopped responding to the meds, so they just abandoned the round (But that was OI not IVF so bear that in mind!) I'm really nervous for Saturday that my body won't respond again so I totally feel your pain and worry.

What day are you on now with your IVF treatment, and have you got any others looking good in the background as well as the 20 and 17?

@GCS34 Welcome!! good luck with your scan! hope everything goes well! Sending you lots of love and best wishes!! I was preparing for IVF but finished my stim on CD9 and told to do trigger on CD10 because i had 2 dominant follicles that was running ahead of everyone else. My doctor suggested to convert this cycle to a IUI cycle instead. So I will be going in for IUI instead of egg retrieval. At this point I think we're pinning all our hopes on the 20mm follicle. A little nervous but hoping the 17mm have grown a bit since to join the race too. I did my trigger last night so we're not scanning anymore just straight to IUI.

My concern now is the progesterone. The doctor had suggested to go back 2 days after IUI to check or go back on day 3. I opted for day 3 due to appointment conflicts but I wonder if that would make a difference because I may need progesterone supplement. What do you ladies think?

@Justkeepmoving1234 hey! it was ok. Did my morning blood work and trigger last night. Everything looks good they said and getting me ready for IUI instead because there aren't too many follicles to make it worthwhile to continue IVF at this point. With my insurance we only have 3 tries so we choose to trust our doctor and give IUI a try with this cycle and hope for the best. I tried not to stress over it because its not under my control. I did all that I can and that's it. There's no explaination as to why we havent fallen pregnant. Every boxes checked off for us. I had a couple of failed IUI cycles last year and a very demanding schedule at work. I was super stress so this year I'm trying to stay calm and just go with the flow. I don't let things/people stress me out anymore. Whatever happen happens. Taking it day by day. Where there is a will there's a solution as someone once told me and sometime its all about timing. Our turn will come.

How are you feeling? Im sorry you have PCOS. It must be really frustrating. Please take good are of yourself. Self care and self love is very important. Remember your very brave and strong and resilient to be going through what your going through and still keep on going. Sending you lots of love and best wishes!! we're here rooting for you!

Ellenn · 21/07/2023 07:52

@Peonies19 that’s good they were happy to convert to an IUI! At least you still get to try something 😊 is it today?

how is everyone else getting on? I’m waiting for my ovulation tests to go positive 🙈think it won’t be until next week but I already have two lines just not quite dark enough yet!

Morning! @Peonies19 rhats good they have a plan regardless! Did they give you any idea why they thought your body stopped responding? Also, is this your first round of ivf? Have they found out the cause of your guys issues conceiving?

@Justkeepmoving1234 i have pcos too so I feel ya! Ii think we’ll do a freeze all this cycle as I have had ohss before. Im on cd5 scan tomorrow AM. Have you had one round of ivf or more? And are you waiting for ovulation before your fet? Thanks for your wishes lovely. All just a mind game isn’t it? 🙈

Hey @Ellenn When do you think you'll ovulate? And how many embryos do you have in the freezer? The injections for progesterone are £18 per injection btw, where as the pessaries are no where near that. So if you're on a self fund cycle, it could stack up ££ pretty fast!!

Ellenn · 21/07/2023 12:19

@GCS34 usually I ovulate around day 16/18 so don’t think I will get a positive ovulation until maybe Tuesday-Thursday next week! If you end up getting a fresh transfer we might be around the same time! Are you just seeing how you respond to make the decision?

I overstimulated on my last cycle too, I think if I end up doing more I might just ask for a freeze all as it’s so disappointing waiting to find out! We have 8 embryos in the freezer atm 😃

That's great number of embryos chilling @Ellenn 😊Do you know what the problem is for you guys, or is it unexplained? I think like you I would rather prepare for a freeze-all, then I won't be dissapointed. I think we'll see what's going on tomorrow when we have our scan and see what my lining is saying. I've got really really thin lining (my baseline scan came in at 1mm!!) I managed to get to 6.5mm once, but I think now we're going for it with IVF, they'll put me on a freeze-all if the lining isn't thickening tomorrow. If we did a fresh, we'd be transferring around the 5th (ish) Aug, so similar to you! If frozen, because I don't have a natural cycle due to really bad PCOS, will prob be EO/August for transfer.

I'm high risk of OHSS because of my PCOS (my first ever scan to see what was going on had 69 follicles on one side!!) And also the fact I'm slim too, so the two together make me a perfect fit for Mr. OHSS to rock up! We shall see. I'm so nervous for some reason!!

Ellenn · 21/07/2023 13:07

@GCS34 we are unexplained! Although my partner does have low motility but they don’t think that would cause infertility for this long, so we did ICSI. I did question if I could have lean PCOS as well as I have really high AMH but because I do generally ovulate they said I don’t.

Wow 67 is a crazy number 😯 have you had your first scan yet? Is this your first ivf cycle? The nurses are usually super helpful at answering questions/supporting you. They will probably do oestrogen bloods to check you aren’t overstimulating too much as well.

got my fingers crossed for your lining and lots of follicles growing 🤞🤞🤞

Helene2019 · 21/07/2023 17:13

Hi Everyone, just joining the August thread. We are on our 5th round of IVF ICSI. Had to take a break of a couple of years after round 4 because it does get a bit all much when you've spent so many years ttc. Not looking forward to being covered in belly bruises for the next few weeks...

@Ellenn Ah man - I'm not sure what is worse, unexplained or their being a reason. It's like on one hand, you'd rather know their was a problem and you can fix it with the right treatment / fertility treatment, but on the other hand, their being no reason why you wouldn't conceive, means their is a good chance you can conceive naturally (albeit not ever happened!) Great that you have some little mini Ellen's on ice now though, and once you have your lining up and you've ovulated, you will hopefully be getting the news you want! Is this round 1? 🤗

I know - it's a wonder I ever manage to sit down haha! I had my baseline last week, and we started injecting Monday. First scan tomorrow (day 5) but i'm really scared nothing is going to have happened and we're not going to have anything showing and i won't have responded 😓First IVF round, but not first round using injectables and stimming (we did OI before which is when I had OHSS etc) Thanks for your wishes - I hope you're right!! 😬

Ellenn · 21/07/2023 17:47

@GCS34 yeh I know! Sometimes wish there was an obvious issue tbh. Just need to be patient for another 10 days or so hopefully 🤞 the only thing I’m worried about is if it doesn’t work they have said it can be up to 6 months before I can get another transfer 😢

this is our 1st transfer in our 2nd ICSI round (had two early miscarriages in 1st one)

I was exactly the same for my first cycle, was so nervous! I’m sure with the amount of follicles you have that they will be busy growing nicely. I also found on my second scan ended up having even more follicles than from 1st scan! Not sure what protocol you are on but they did end up reducing dose of stimulation so that might be an option if they need to with you

@Helene2019 hey welcome 🤗

Gosh have they said why you have to wait 6 months?! That feels like a really long time. Have you been given your chance % or anything?

oh of course. Sorry. I did know that sorry 🙈did you have any iced last time or did you transfer the only ones?

I think it’ll be the other way to f anything - I won’t have stimmed enough. I’m on short antagonist with a relatively small dose but I don’t think it’s enough, you know? Maybe I’m just stressing but dunno. My nerves usually have reason to be something not great. But I will see tomorrow. What dose were you on?

Ellenn · 21/07/2023 22:19

@GCS34 i think it’s staffing levels in the hospital, so frustrating though especially when we have waited so long to get to this stage.

last cycle I had one fresh and one frozen transfer!

I was also on a short antagonist and both cycles I started on 150IU of stimulation (and quite different results from 2 blastocysts to 8) so I think sometimes it’s just so random even with the same drugs! I think if you really aren’t responding they can also increase the dose as well. I’m sure you will be fine! It’s just the unknown though isn’t it, I felt scared going to the first scan too. If it doesn’t work this time/you don’t get results you are expecting there is no saying that the next cycle will be very diffferent!

@Ellenn Yeah that’s not fair they’re making you wait for their problem. Would you consider transferring your embryos elsewhere if it was a long wait?
sorry both your fresh and frozen didn’t stick. 😞so had my scan. I worried about nothing 😂🙈 10 x over 9mm which is where they say you should be, and 26 between 5-8mm. 36 in total and lining is thickening up nicely.

Justkeepmoving1234 · 22/07/2023 22:47

@Peonies19 how did the IUI go? I'm not sure about the progesterone. What day did you decide to go with?
I'm doing okay thank you. Thank you so much for your kind words, they really resonated with me.

@Ellenn how are you getting on? So sorry for your lost embryos. Sending you lots of luck over for this round!

@GCS34 how did your scan go yesterday?
I had 1 round of IVF in 2019. Fingers crossed for my FET!

Hope everyone is holding in there!!

My period finally arrived today, I start meds tomorrow. First scan in the morning...here we go again!! Feeling a bit anxious all of a sudden

@Justkeepmoving1234 👋did your TF in 2019 work? Don’t answer if you’re not comfortable too. Hugh five on your period. Does that mean you’ll be doing a tf in 3 ish weeks?

had my scan. I worried about nothing 😂🙈 Lining is thickening up nicely - 5.9mm already which I haven’t had before (especially not only day 5 when we have another 7/8 days to go still). She said that’s bang on where it should be.

Follies she said by day5 they’re usually around 9/10mm. I have about 10 x 9mm and over, and a bunch under (between 5-9mm). theirs 36 in total 🫣 she said we’re heading for a freeze all cuz chance of OHSS due to pcos, being slim, and the fact that these results are only day5, but I’m kinda prepared for that anyway. Back in tomoz for another scan. added in the anti ovulation injection last night - anyone else find that bloody stings like hell

Justkeepmoving1234 · 23/07/2023 09:29

@GCS34 great news that your lining is thickening up nicely! Great news if your responding better than you have before.
Wow to 36! How you feeling about it? I remember the anti-ovulation injection from the first time round. It does sting so much more than the others. Do you have any idea when they are going to do a collection?

I don't mind any questions about the round in 2020, sorry I got my dates mixed! I feel like we all lost 2 years over the pandemic!
Yes, I had my son from my round in 2020, he's nearly 2 now. I'm 38, so I'm going in to try for a second as we have 3 frosties left over. Fingers crossed 🤞 we can't have children naturally due to my tubes being blocked with endometriosis, and a mix of PCOS in there which means I don't always ovulate regularly. We're going to see if any of the three we have left work. If they don't that'll be the end of the road for us.

IVFKinster · 23/07/2023 09:38

Hi everyone! I'm due to start IVF w/ ICSI due to MF and PCOS in two weeks when my next period hopefully starts. I'll be doing a short antagonist protocol so very low level stims and only for a short time, start on CD3/4 is my understanding! It's felt like a very long time getting to this point.
It would be nice to be able to join you all even if just to see other people are going through similar at the same time 😊

Thanks. Yeah I was so bloody nervous before. I think my lack of response to drugs one round has scarred me! Yeh not too bad. It’s not too painful down there yet but I imagine it’s going to get crowded the next few days! See what’s going on tomorrow. They said next weekend ish / next Monday so about a weeks time.

ah wow thats great news! It’s always so reassuring having someone have success off their first round ☺️ and awesome you have some siblings on ice. Think that’s a really good mentality to go in. Transfer the three. If nothing then call it a day. Well probs be the same. Sorry you have endo and pcos. Do you manager to ovulate with blocked tubes?

Ellenn · 23/07/2023 11:39

@GCS34 im not sure how it works with transferring embryos as this cycle is through nhs! Honestly if it was an option I would do it if it reduced the time between transfers. That’s great news about your scan!! I remember it being such a weight off your mind after that initial scan knowing that your ovaries are doing something 🙈

@Justkeepmoving1234 hopefully should be ovulating this week, currently got high fertility on the Clearblue so I’m hoping maybe Wednesday might get peak 🤞 are you doing a medicated/natural transfer?

@IVFKinster hey 👋 I was also on a short antagonist protocol but in may which was a freeze all so now getting to finally do my transfer 😊 seems like a few people here going through with you which is nice!

Hi all - I am a bit behind you in that I stopped the norethisterone pills on Friday. Just wondering was anyone else on them too? How quickly did you have a bleed after? It has been two days and I am somewhat panicking now that something has happened and it will delay our treatment.

Willard89 · 23/07/2023 12:00

Hi all, I’ve just joined and really feel like talking to those in a similar position will help me get through the next few weeks. I am due to start northisterone on Tuesday and injections on 20th subsist with a planned EC on 1st Sept. First every IVF round and nervous 😬

@Loulaki I've been on Norethisterone my last 3 rounds. Each time my bleed hasn't turned up until 4-5 days after stopping the tabs. The first time I panicked, thinking it wasn't going to happen 🫣. Though if it hasn't started before or on the day you are due to start injections you should get in touch with the clinic.
