I’m due to start my second round of FET in August so thought I would set up this group for some treatment buddies ❤️

Thanks @Lowo21 and thanks for the wishes. I will keep your thoughts and luck onboard, and hope my little men make it through the next 2 x hurdles! I'm expecting the big drop to come from now to day 3. We shall see sunday. Eeeek! }

Awww I bet. Is that due to the wait list, or is that due to your personal circumstance? Are you in a NHS hospital, or private clinic? Did you say you were at ABC? Sorry if I got that wrong! Am I right in thinking you had 4 embryos? I'm getting lost and also losing my mind slightly haha

@GCS34 doing ok thanks, this wait is horrible though isn’t it! Trying to distract myself in any way possible. Hope you can go ahead with your transfer soon 🤞🏻

@Lowo21 having a fresh transfer- hopefully, obviously based on how the embryos progress! They’ve pencilled me in provisionally for a day 3 transfer on Saturday and then have said they’d contact Saturday morning to confirm if it’ll be that day or day 5 on Monday.

@IVF23 thank you. Glad you have your provisional booked in for egg transfer on Saturday or Monday. I spoke with an embryologist yesterday who was explaining what the process is for Freeze all cycles and fresh transfers, was all super interesting

@IVF23 it is isn’t it? Did you say you had 3 fertilise? Sorry I’m so rubbish at remembering today. So many numbers flying around plus our own numbers - im getting lost! I know you were a bit low at your last scan. Hope you’re okay and great you’re doing a day 3 tf. You must be recovering well! Do you know what your bloods etc are and I assume they keep the others going to day 5?

@GCS34 yes between day 3 and 5 had a big drop 😔 have found out today my total number frozen and feel very blessed but also sad for all those that didn't make it. Had a big collection but the % of those that didn't make is huge !

The gap from now until transfer is due to my hormone levels and the clinics nervousness in my risk of OHSS. I also don't have a natural cycle due to PCOS so I will have to have the hormones to support but a break in between now and then if that make sense!!!. What did they say to you about it? Unfortunately we have had to go private as my OH has a child. It was a heartbreaking moment as we are struggling to afford it but I get that there are rules! We are with TFP they have been phenomenal, I couldn't fault them. Who are you with? Hahah yes so many numbers it's ok, I think it's just a case of we banked a good number and like you have mentioned it's a blessing so don't wish to rub anyone's face in it 🥰

@IVF23 you must be in such a state of suspense at the moment. I have so much admiration for the strength you all have doing fresh transfers! Hoping this is it for you and that the next 24/48 hours goes quickly for you!

@Lowo21 i think that’s the biggest drop of all the stages. I didn’t realise until the other day that up to date 3, it’s all egg quality carrying it through. Then day 3-5 is the sperm quality. So for my sister, she had a huge drop from day 3 to 5 as they had MF. so sad like you say how many dont make it but guess you have to think they wouldn’t have ever been able to be a baby 🤍 really pleased you’re happy with your final number. It’s a blessing when that’s the case for sure 🥰

I remember you saying about your pcos as I am the same and I don’t have natural cycles. Probably why we got a good turn out as we don’t regularly ovulate! My estrogen level yesterday was 5,500 p/mol so I’m wayyyyyyy over what’s normal or safe. You know what yours is? We’re like twins - I’m with TFP nurture in Nottingham. They’re fantastic aren’t they? I’ve had 7 progress scans throughout the stimming phase, when a friend of mine only had 1 at Care fertility before EC. Hope you’re on the mend. Has your ohss reared it’s face or you free for now?

@GCS34 no we had more than 3 fertilise and had more eggs retrieved than was predicted from final scans which was a nice surprise! We won’t necessarily have a day 3 transfer, it just depends on the development of the embryos and the drop of numbers. My clinic just provisionally books in day 3 transfer and then it’s moved to day 5 if they’re doing well and the number is also doing ok.

I’m struggling on the antibiotics from egg collection currently, they make me sick! And I have bad bloating but not sure if that’s egg collection or the pessaries, or both!

@IVF23 we managed to get a few surprises too. We were warned that it’s likely a % of our follicles could be empty, so was expecting a lot less than the scans, but turned out great. Glad you were pleased too!! Our bodies can surprise us still 🥰ah okay. So at what point do they decide to do a day 3? If theirs others developing or is it something else? How do you feel in yourself bar the sickness? Are the antibiotics for something in particular? I know some clinics do them for some but o never really understood it or knew much about it.

hope the bloating subsides soon! Have you had any bloods done to know your estrogen? Mines sky high which I’m assuming is my stupid pcos.

Hi all. Officially PUPO following my FET yesterday! Day 1 of the TWW today!!

Re the FET, it's so much nicer than. Egg collection. There's no sedation and apart from a bit of discomfort it's overall a really pleasant experience

Main advice re prep is accupuncture in the run up to it and then immediately pre and post transfer . On the day, no perfume, wear warm socks and bring the camera to take a pic of your precious cargo!!

@GCS34 my clinic just gives the antibiotics after egg collection to minimise chance of infection. No I haven’t had bloods done as there was no concern of OHSS for me as I didn’t have many eggs. They decide whether it’s a day 3 transfer on the morning of day 3. I believe the decision is based on the development of embryos and the number of embryos.

@IVF23 ahh cool. Think my friends clinic does that too. Mine doesn’t unless theirs sign of an infection I think. Where are you at? And were you based in the uk?
ah that’s good re ohss. I think the odds of ohss and the fact I have to have a freeze-all are the serious downside of pcos. I guess the good is lots of eggs and usually respond veg well to the drugs, but bad is if you have some embryos that aren’t a-c as you lose them due to them not making the freeze/thaw. For us that’s the big next hurdle - hopefully we get a couple a-c otherwise we’re f**ked and have to start again.

have you a preference re day3/5 transfer? Hope you’re feeling okay and sending luck to the embryos in the lab for day 2!!

I have just taken my second dose of Clomid, no side effects as yet :)

I have been given an antibiotic to take after egg collection too IVF.

Although I am gutted to have very low AMH I am glad that at least OHSS isn’t something I have to worry about, it sounds absolutely horrible.

@Hopingforno2in2023 fingers crossed it's plain sailing for you. Are you taking Clomid as part of an EC protocol ? It's interesting to see how many variations there are and uses of different medications. I had ovaleap injections prior to ovamex! @GCS34 as you are with TFP AND a PCOS sista! (This is awesome btw!!) did you do the same?

@GCS34 Totally agree though I think the big show of follicles and eggs is because I think I have naturally only had three or four periods since in was 21!! Unfortunately though a large portion of my eggs weren't Waitrose best so like you said huge drop off ! How are you feeling today ?? I had mild OHSS and still have a sore abdomen area/I can still feel my ovaries ! Sickness has passed though and starting to feel less tired ! They didn't take my bloods I'm guessing that's because we were never going for fresh ? Did they give you an option ?

Tell me you are an Aquarius and I think there is some weird parallel universe shit going on 😅Yes to ovamex too - I didn't think that was bad AT ALL. Did you? It stung after for about 10 mins, but the injection didn't hurt at all. Trigger though - did you have bureselin too?

That's mad as my PCOS is EXACTLY the same - I have been on the pill since meeting my husband 7.5years ago, and prior to that I don't really recall having periods or them being regular at all. I'm expecting the one next week to be a killer. 🙈I was quite lucky that my body clearly put in a Waitrose order prior to collection, so everything they collected, bar 1, were mature, but that doesn't mean they are guaranteed Day 5's, they might not have the cell make up to develop.

When did your OHSS start to show up? You're the same day post EC as me right? Glad you're feeling less sick - have you managed to eat much? They didn't offer me on the bloods - they took them at my last scan on Monday where they said I was through the roof, so still high on Weds. Today I feel completely different to the past 2 days. I'm not as bloated (famous last words) but I think that's because I went to the 'loo' (tmi), and has freed up some space! But I REALLY feel the cramping today and my ovaries like you. And nausea is beginning to set in. How are you doing aside from the abdomen pain?

Yes Lowo. My consultant said that due to my very low AMH and my relatively young age (34) he was going to throw everything at me as my body will hopefully respond. So I primed last cycle with testosterone and then this cycle I am on the max dose of Clomid from CD2-6. Then I start 450iu (which I think is the max dose) of Meriofert on CD7.

Ooh my abdomen is feeling a little sore, bit like if I have done some sit ups. Fingers crossed that means my ovaries are responding!

Helllllow everyone- happy Friday!! @GCS34 how was your EC procedure? Yours under sedation too? How do you feel?!? Mine is now scheduled for Monday.. any tips???

Catching up on all messages, We have MF too (kinda low motility I guess), so we are told to go with ICSI. I don't have any underlying conditions, good hormonal levels, so let's see what happens on embryo transfer..

I need to plan my leaves as well, and the NHS clinic isn't able to give me clarity. If my EC happens on Monday, when do u think I will be called for the transfer??

Hey @Hopingforno2in2023 nice to have another in the 34 y/o club and to be referred to as 'young' 😅I think that is the highest dose yes. It's good that they know your body and what protocol you need. For me, due to my AMH I pcos, I think i'd go into cardiac arrest with that amount. Mad how different bodies are isn't it? On the abs hurting - mine did too! that was after about 3/4 days of the stim injections, but I Assume with being on Clomid that is waking them up before you hit them with the hard stuff.

Can I ask a personal question please? Don't answer if you don't want to, but is your first via fertility treatment, or is this secondary infertility that you've had since?

EC was okay yeah - it ended up being 40 mins in the end due to the crop they had to go at! I was sedated yeah - bloody amazing. WAY better than general, as you don't have the post anesthetic sickness, weirdness. I'm okay... ish. Yesterday I had extreme bloating which was so painful. Was all below my boobs area and was just a lot. Like some sick joke, I genuinely looked pregnant 😂

Now, I've been to the 'loo' which has reduced the bloating and feel a lot better. However, with it has come intense cramping through my lower abdomen, in the period pain area. And around my right ovary. Assume it's just post being beaten up pain from 2 days ago?

Tips ... Ermmmm get the electrolyte tablets you put in water to help with the bloating, and keep super hydrated. It might feel counter productive with the bloating, but it will help with geting things 'moving' down there! (honestly TMi - everyone knows about my bowel antics this week!)😂sorry!! Are you having a fresh TF? if so, it will be likely on Day 5/6. So, that would be Saturday / Sunday - perfect for the leave from work thing!

You are right GCS34, it is crazy how much we all differ! I’m glad to be part of the 34 gang :)

I didn’t have any fertility treatment for my first, I was in my mid twenties and got pregnant easily. My cycles were much more stable and didn’t involve spotting etc then.

However we have ended up IVF this time as I had a massive mental health breakdown after the birth of DS due to childhood trauma. As a consequence DH had a vasectomy. Many years later I have had EMDR therapy as well as cutting out the family members who caused the trauma and I feel well enough to go again. We considered reversal or IVF but my low AMH decided us on IVF.

I always feel guilty about the vasectomy and whether I deserve to be on IVF boards etc but I have to remember that I was in an absolutely awful place when we made that decision.

The irony now is that they are confident they will get decent sperm from DH but aren’t confident they will get eggs from me 😂

I had my 4th EC this morning. Only 3 mature eggs retrieved. I'm so so disappointed and was hoping for more. I know it's not about quantity but quality. However starting with such a low number the odds are so low. I'm hoping to have one embryo left by day 5 and hoping and praying it tests normal with pgt.

This is my 7th cycle in the last 2 years. 4th egg collection. We have one mosaic embryo on ice. Doctors recommended doing another EC before transfer. I've been so hopeful all this time but the constant set backs and never good news takes its toll 😔

@Hopingforno2in2023 wow what a journey you have been on!? You are such a strong individual to heal yourself and then feel strong enough to carry this journey out ! Would you mind if I ask how you found EMDR? My husband has PTSD and is due to start 6 sessions of EMDR before further counselling but I know nothing about the therapy ! How are you feeling today? Hope you are doing ok?

@GCS34 it's scary how similar out situations are! Unfortunately my TFP clinic is in Portsmouth though 😔 I had my EC last Friday can't believe the week has gone by already! Hoping the next two months go equally as fast! Wow well done ! You should take out shares in Waitrose 😂🤣 hope you have a great day 5 number, at least the pressure will reduce.
OHSS was around day 3/4 but also had it on Clomid, odd but the symptoms were worse. My body is all over the place ! Stooopid PCOS ! Feeling good today and positive. Whilst I have a long wait im greatful for the break in treatment and just able to enjoy family and life. How are you feeling ?
