I’m sorry if I’ve missed people off but there’s no more space on the previous thread.

CD day 1 today. Oh my effing god! So bloody painful! TMI but I’m so heavy, much more so than normal. Those norethisterone pills are bloody terrible!!!

Stims start tomorrow though, scan on Monday.

How is everyone today?

@User491 Hopefully you get to transfer. Fingers crossed. I know how it’s hard to think positive though, but 50/50 is a decent chance in this. It just sucks you only have the one to work with. I’m willing in on for you!

I really need to get a handle on my weight over this break I’m having. I’ve put on about a stone since January with IVF I could really do with losing it!

Think I’m going to bite the bullet come Monday and join the gym!

OP posts:
User491 · 13/08/2023 10:29

@Lauralozzle I really hope so, even if it's a lower chance of it sticking, I want to at least have that chance of transfer!

That's great about joining the gym, well done! it's a big step when it's something out of your comfort zone, but I love the gym, it's such a good distraction and makes me feel so much better! I have also put weight on but continued to train, just went a bit wild with the meals out etc! But I've had to take time off just recently with everything, I'll defo be back asap!

The ivf and stress of it all and the meds do not help with weight at all 🙈

I'm now thinking has my BMI being over a bit made the difference to the eggs 😢

Lauralozzle · 13/08/2023 10:47

@User491 I think that about BMI too. But actually first cycle it was 29.8 this cycle it was 32 and this cycle has been a better cycle with better quality blasts so I don’t think there’s that much in BMI and egg quality. I just want to get down so I don’t feel so fat, rather than anything else!

OP posts:
User491 · 13/08/2023 12:01

Yeh your results actually show that it's not been BMI related!
That's my aim, I feel uncomfortable at the moment, and I don't like it. So regardless of the outcome, changes will be made!
My husband is completely gutted, i am still trying to remain positive..

User491 · 15/08/2023 10:45

Embryo Arrested at some point on Sunday 😢

Crap news, but got to keep positive for future rounds.. I'll get a call this afternoon with the rough timescales for a new round, I'm assuming it's going to be about 3/4 months 😢

Lauralozzle · 15/08/2023 16:37

@User491 Oh no! I’m so sorry 😢

Hopefully they can get you in with a new round. 3/4 months seems like a realistic shout.

Do you think they’ll change your protocol slightly due to this round? It’s horrible that it’s over so quickly.

User491 · 16/08/2023 08:11

@Lauralozzle thank you ❤️ I know it's been a shock.
Our file will be discussed tomorrow, and then We will get a video call in 4-6 weeks to discuss what will happen next time round. I'm hoping they change it up!

There is no waiting list at the clinic which is good, so as soon as I feel ready at least we can go straight in, rather than being bound by the clinic and their back logs! That's helping me right now 😊

User491 · 18/08/2023 08:37

@Lauralozzle good luck for your appointment on Monday!

My clinic called me yesterday, which I wasn't expecting. They discussed my case and will put me on the same medication as the first round but will double the dose this time as they think that will help me to produce more 🤞🏻 they've actually just booked me in too, so I start end of September and go in for egg collection 2nd November! I am so happy to have the dates booked in 😊

Lauralozzle · 21/08/2023 15:22

@User491 That’s excellent news! End of September will be here before you know it. Looks like we’ll be transferring within a couple of weeks of one another!

We’ve just had our review.

Frozen transfer planned for October.

I’m going to start progesterone 6 days before transfer. Day before transfer I have to have a blood test to check progesterone levels and if needed, I’ll have lubion injections.

If next transfer fails, we’ll be looking at immunology and blood clotting issues.

I need another TSH test, and this time a vitamin D test. I’ll see if I can get a vitamin D test through GP.

All in all, she said this round was much better. Getting x3 good quality embryos out of 4 fertilised is very good.

DH is a bit upset. I’m fine, I think. I’m beginning to feel a bit like it’s all my fault though, which I know it isn’t.

I’ve got to call when my period starts in September and then they’ll get the ball rolling so I’m ready to start October.

OP posts:
User491 · 22/08/2023 14:43

@Lauralozzle that's brilliant news and fab about the progesterone too!

Bless you husband, you think it's all overwhelming? My husband took this round worse; and I'm actually ok really. Obviously deflated, but positive and ready to go again! So thankful for there being no wait list, I think that would have been far worse.

So pleased we will hopefully be close together for transfers, we can keep each other going 😊

User491 · 22/08/2023 14:46

@Lauralozzle interesting about the vitamin d test too, do you take one each day at the moment? My clinic told me to take them from out first app so have just stick with them. My levels have never been checked though..

Lauralozzle · 22/08/2023 15:20

@User491 I think it’s because there’s an actual chance with transfers. He doesn’t like how clinical it all is. I don’t mind that. It either works or it doesn’t, I want it to work, but I think my many months of not getting pregnant have taken it out of me. DH was always we’ll try next month. I often felt like it just wasn’t worth it and it exhausted me. I like the fact that I can separate our time together and IVF now. We don’t do the deed to try anymore. Trying is IVF.

I’ve been taking vitamin D for ages. Increased my dose in March following medichecks blood test where it was like only just on normal level - 1 point off a deficiency. Be interesting to see if that works.

OP posts:
User491 · 06/09/2023 08:09

@Lauralozzle how are you getting on? How did your bloods come back?
Hopefully you will get some dates soon for your transfer ☺️

I'm at my clinic in 2 weeks to collect my meds and have a scan to make sure I'm good to go. I had a withdrawal bleed, then a few days of spotting the week after which I assume would have been my period but they want to make sure everything is looking ok.

I just want to get started again now!

Lauralozzle · 06/09/2023 08:15

@User491 That sounds good! I totally understand wanting to get started again as soon as possible.

So, thyroid is nicely under 2.5 (1.8) and vitamin d was 80-something so supplementing is working!

I’m in the middle of my first natural bleed following our failed cycle. We’re on holiday next week so I’ll order our meds when we’re back and then I start with my October cycle when it starts which should be very beginning of October. So transfer planned for October.

Meds are much cheaper for the FET, which is great!

OP posts:
Lauralozzle · 24/09/2023 09:33

How is everyone getting on?

I’m waiting for my period to start for our FET. Due first week of October.

I really hope we’re third time lucky!

OP posts:
User491 · 25/09/2023 14:20

Hey @Lauralozzle

How are you doing? Did you enjoy your break?

Will keep my fingers crossed for you, hoping 3rd time lucky for us too 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I start down reg tomorrow, and scheduled for retrieval 2/11!
How many days after your period is your transfer usually?
Bet it's a bit random praying for your period to arrive this time! Only time it is welcomed 😂

Lauralozzle · 25/09/2023 14:55

@User491 I did thank you. It was lovely!

Oh! Down reg tomorrow sounds good! How are you feeling about long protocol? Transfer beginning of November - that will fly by!

Last cycle was short, but after my period I was stimming for 12 days, egg collection on cycle day 14 and transfer cycle day 19. It followed my usual cycle.

Long protocol was different, from my second bleed (hadn’t down regulated properly, I had two bleeds in about 6 weeks), had scan about 5 days after the bleed to confirm down regulation, stims started cycle day 6, stims for 9 days, egg collection two days after, transfer 5 days after that so about 22 days.

OP posts:
User491 · 25/09/2023 15:02

Wow not long for you to wait at all!! How exciting 😊

I'm fine about it, I've always been long protocol and not had any issues in the others, as in always ready to start stims.. hopefully this will be the same!

Me and my husband always wanted a summer baby (before we knew there was issues) I'm hoping that this all means that it was meant to be and this is our time!!

It's bitter sweet for me this month as if I hadn't miscarried I would have been due this week 😢 weird to think about it, but is what it is!

Lauralozzle · 25/09/2023 20:26

@User491 Oh, that’s tough. Hopefully having this cycle to focus on will help.

Yes, not long for me now. Hoping either my period is early, like Wednesday/Thursday or holds off for the weekend. I don’t want to be socialising and going to a spa this weekend if I’m on my period during the worst of it.

OP posts:
User491 · 26/09/2023 15:25

@Lauralozzle definitely.. if I had longer to wait think it would be far worse!
First injection of cycle 3 done ✅

Ohh a spa weekend sounds lovely, really hope your period plays ball 🤞🏻

I think are the only ones left in here. I wondered whether to start an IVF/ICSI group for October/November and see if anyone else is starting soon.. what you think?

Lauralozzle · 26/09/2023 16:54

I’ve started one for October! A few in there looking at transfers late Oct/early Nov. It’s IVF/ICSI/FET Oct 2033 (stupid typo obv meant 2023 lol)
