CD day 1 today. Oh my effing god! So bloody painful! TMI but I’m so heavy, much more so than normal. Those norethisterone pills are bloody terrible!!!

Stims start tomorrow though, scan on Monday.

How is everyone today?

@Brown269 Paid leave for ivf would be the dream. My work are pretty flexible, I can credit myself the hours back from appointments and such, but it’s just super hard to concentrate and care about any of it at the moment.

@SH998 Glad your transfer went well. Meds myself was strange, definitely worse. Back to DH doing it now. I’ve heard the lubion is quite painful, but hopefully it’s what does the trick this time!

I had my first stims scan for this cycle today. Bit underwhelming, but follicles are growing - the nurse counted 7. I’m nowhere near ready yet though. Lining is looking good. My right ovary is still non existent, small and doing naff all. Exactly like last time so not much of a surprise at all.

Clinic called, I have to increase Gonal F tonight from 150 to 225. Meriofert stays at 75.

Next scan is Wednesday.

@Lauralozzle that's great news, you should be really happy with 7 🥳. More doesn’t always mean better, my first cycle they retrieved 14 follicles but only 2 made 5 day blasto, second time they managed 8 follicles and 5 made it to 5 day blasto. Based on my experience I would be thrilled with that.
How many days you been on stims? X

@SH998 I’m ok with 7, hopefully all of them grow enough and have eggs!

Today will be day seven of stims. So so, only 6 days of stims leading up to the scan.

Ir’s the fertilisation I’m worried about. We had 8 before, 7 were mature, 2 fertilised with ICSI. I really hope the AOA and zymot help!!!

How are you feeling? When’s your OTT?

@Lauralozzle i was worried about the drop off rate too, it never gets easier does it, you stress about how many follicles, then fertilisation rate, then implantation chances, it’s draining but will all be worth it in the end.
I hope the extras work for you :)
Im feeling ok thanks, happy living in my little oblivious world right now. Official test day is 27th but will never last that lol x

@SH998 No, it definitely doesn’t get any easier. I’m more nervous this time round than I was before. Think it’s because I know the process, and the stims/egg collection was the easy bit for me! It’s everything after that’s got me worried sick!

Im glad you’re doing ok. 27th is a while away, I don’t think I could hold out that long either!

I’ve had my second stims scan today.

Eggs are growing, slowly. Although one seems to have disappeared as she only counted six. One was at 15. Lining at 11.2. Got to go back on Friday for another scan and continue taking the increased dose.

Not much of an update at all, but I’m slowly getting there.

@Lauralozzle even with one going AWOL that’s a great number of eggs, fingers crossed they will all be mature 🙏🏻. How many days will your Friday scan be? Last transfer I had 2 scans day 10 and 14, this time just 1 on day 12.
I was quite naive the first round, you do learn a lot as you go along and as you say it does sometimes make it harder.

I didn’t manage to last until the 27th, I didn’t even last this week lol 😂. I tested positive, fingers crossed this one will stick x

Fridays scan will be CD12, so I will have stimmed for ten days for that scan. It’ll be my 11th day of stimming that evening. I’m guessing a scan Friday, maybe one Saturday and then trigger. Hopefully. I’m guessing though, to be honest!

@Lauralozzle thank you 😀. That sounds about right, the weekend will be here before you know it. Everything’s a waiting game with IVF isn’t it. Will be worth it in the end for us all x

@SH998 IVF is definitely a waiting game. You become an expert in waiting.

So, update from me:

Day 3 stims scan showed I was pretty much ready. Just have a few eggs that need to catch up so last stims injection last night of 150iu of meriofert. I’m glad they didn’t make me buy another Gonal F pen, worked out it would have been about £150 quid so I feel a bit richer already!

I’ve taken my last Fyremadel injection this morning. Just got trigger tonight at 8:30PM and then injection free day tomorrow!!

Egg collection at 8:30AM Monday morning.

@Lauralozzle oh fantastic news, how are you feeling about it? It’s not your first egg collection is it so you know the drill. A nice early transfer too so no waiting around. My last transfer we had to be there for 8am, they called us all in together and I had to watch 3 other people (I was the last typically lol) go in before me. I finally went at 11.15am and didn’t leave the recovery ward until gone 1.30pm as they forgot about me. It was a long day but worth it. My partner was tamping as he hadn’t eaten either and was afraid to leave the waiting room incase they called him to collect me. He was closer to fainting leaving there than I was lol 😂

Try not to worry if any smaller follicles showed on the scan, my last scan showed a small of I think between 13-15 range (not 100% sure of the exact number) but it was mature by the time it was collected. The trigger gives them that 1 last boost. X

8 eggs collected.

Hoping that is where the similarities to last cycle end. Hopefully more than 6 are mature and more than two fertilise!

@Lauralozzle what a great number to collect :) Finger's crossed you will get a good fertilisation rate, keep us updated.

@User491 I’ve got today, tomorrow and Wednesday off work. Hoping I’ll be alright by Thursday. Might take it a bit easier in those days though and just go half days.

@Brown269 & @SH998 I’m definitely getting rest and being looked after ❤️ I’ve spent most of this afternoon asleep, have a little snack then asleep again!

It seemed to go okay. Felt it towards the end, which was painful and there was some bleeding they had to stop. I feel a bit sore down there but apart from that I’m ok. Started the pessaries, which if I recall are a bit disgusting!

I'm good thanks, I'm saying Thursday, I meant to say Friday all being well. I had a bleed last week just 3 days, It was relatively light after the first full day, but the cramps were awful, they started randomly at the gym and I thought I was going to be sick 🤢 🙈

I feel good otherwise though, ready to get on the stims now.. transfer is 22 days away.. providing I have one to go in 🤞🏻

@User491 That sounds horrible. Fingers crossed you’re all ready for stims soon. My norethisterone period was shorter, the cramps were hell but I was super heavy that first day.

Had the call. 4 fertilised. All 8 were mature. It’s better than last time. Next 5 days will be nerve wracking though. Will try and keep myself occupied!

How are you doing?

@User491 I’m with CARE and they have a do not disturb policy so no update. I’ve received an appointment for the transfer tomorrow though so one must surely still be sticking around!

Yay for stims! It’s great when you feel like something is starting!

I’m hoping we get 2 out of this batch. Just hope the quality is there. We went from 33 to 50% fertilisation rate, and last time one of the two did reach blast was just rubbish quality. Hoping the proxeed and changes we’ve made means we might at least get a half decent blast. It would be a dream if one was good to freeze, but I’m not getting ahead of myself!
