Hello!

Just wanted to start a thread and see if anyone was going ahead with a transfer in July.

I've just had my nurse consult and hoping to have my second FET in July (my first was successful in Jan 2021 and I had my wonderful DD).

The first time around I was of course beyond nervous, excited, terrified it wouldn't work etc. This time it feels like that's doubled! I'm a private patient so I've saved everything for this but should it fail, it'll be a long long time before I could afford to try again.

To add some nerves, I'd need to be cycle day one no later than the 6th July to go ahead, as my clinic is moving locations. I'm currently due on the 5th...! So every chance it's moved to a Sept cycle.

Would be nice to have some company!

:)

Hi all. I hope it’s ok for me to join here? I’ve been a long time lurker here but now I’m due to start IVF with ABC this month I thought it was time to join! I’m likely starting meds around 22nd July 😊

ttcsolomumtobe · 07/07/2023 14:17

@IVFfirsttimer91 well I hope these next 8 days go quick and the box sets keep you occupied.
And yes, defo need to be as stressfree as possible, was due to start IVF last month, but booked a last minute trip away and then hours later my period arrived days early, the panic in that moment about injecting on trains and how busy I had been made me realise I needed to delay and slow things down so hopefully in the best place possible for when I start.

@ASGIRC that's so interesting, thank you for sharing that option and if I find myself in a possible or having remaining embryos I will definitely speak to the clinic more about offering them. It's all so costly isn't it, but also it's the time involved and the impact on you. Hopefully this route will be easier than the double donor. I don't know much about grading, trying not to get too overthinking on that stuff but like I've read alot, they would only freeze if they thought it could develop.

@Caroline2023 welcome! I'm also with ABC and my meds will be starting around that week too! I got mine delivered last month and seeing them in the fridge everyday just makes me egar to want to start!

ASGIRC · 07/07/2023 14:23

@ttcsolomumtobe From what Ive read, one grading is about the amount of multiplying cells and the other is about how they look (if theyre uniform or not). AA is the best, a CC would be discarded as non viable. I think the 3 is the day it was frozen at, so it s a day 3 embryo, as opposed to a day 5. So basically it is the best possible embryo (would only be better if it was day 5 already)

Caroline2023 · 07/07/2023 14:42

@ttcsolomumtobe ah we can be cycle buddies! Is this your first cycle? How are you feeling? This is our first and I’m feeling very apprehensive about it all!

SH998 · 07/07/2023 15:36

Hi ladies,
My transfer is planned for Thursday, this will be my 4th transfer so it’s nothing new to me 🤦🏼‍♀️
However this cycle they have upped my eostrogen meds and will add add Lubion this time as well as the standard suppositories. Just wondering if anyone has had any luck ysing Lubion?

ttcsolomumtobe · 07/07/2023 16:06

@ASGIRC thank you for the info! And wow that is very exciting, not surprised you jumped at the chance.

@Caroline2023 yes would love to, will be my first IVF. I'm excited to get started and feel like something happening rather than waiting and hopeful for a great outcome but also trying to be realistic/fair to myself that it's a process and can sometimes take more attempts and more can be learnt from IVF, think that's more to protect myself if it's not the outcome hoped for.

With you being with ABC are you doing Mild IVF? I feel a little worried that it may not yeild as many eggs but have to remind myself that it only takes one, shorter injection times and hopefully less chance of OHSS.

@SH998 welcome! Good luck for your 4th transfer, have you found that with each transfer they have made adjustments to try and improve the next one? Sorry can't answer your question as first timer.

Lauralozzle · 07/07/2023 17:50

@BananaHammock23 & @ASGIRC Good luck with your upcoming transfers and welcome 🤗

@AnaS86 Welcome 🤗 I’m sorry to hear about your previous miscarriages and ectopic. Good luck with your cycle and injections!!

Little update: no more norethisterone for me! Now just waiting for my period to show its ugly head. I’ve still got cramping, so hopefully once the norethisterone is out of my system my period will show.

Lauralozzle · 07/07/2023 17:54

@Caroline2023 Good luck with your upcoming cycle. Are you on a short protocol with ABC?

@SH998 Hi, I recognise you from other threads! Fingers crossed for this transfer. I’ve not had lubion yet, I’m having pessaries this round, so can’t offer any advice but hopefully others can.

Caroline2023 · 07/07/2023 18:30

@ttcsolomumtobe yes I’m also doing mild IVF with ABC. I’ve had similar worries, but I’ve seen quite a few posts of people actually getting quite a good number of eggs. We wanted to try mild before going through an nhs full protocol round (if needed). Yes definitely agree with it feeling good to be moving forward in the journey!

@Lauralozzle thank you! Yes I’m doing short protocol. I’ve just seen you have finished your Norethisterone, I hope you’ve been doing ok with it.

ttcsolomumtobe · 07/07/2023 19:00

@Caroline2023 is NHS funding still available after someone has gone private for treatment? Never looked at NHS funding being a single person but feel like the waits etc must be hard for people. Hopefully this cycle will work and it won't be needed.

I considered egg sharing (but couldn't do it as AMH had dropped slightly) thinking they would give me a high dose of medication and asked the question and they said it would still be the same dose and protocol. For egg sharing you have to get atleast 8 so that made me hopeful that a good amount of eggs could be produced.

Lauralozzle · 07/07/2023 19:09

@Caroline2023 I was doing ok on the norethisterone for first seven days, but day 8-10 it really caught up with me: exhausted, cramps, brain fog - one particularly painful cramp the other day. I was pretty down the other day and I’m glad I’m not taking them anymore, but, in the grand scheme of things not too bad.

Keepingeverythingxxx · 07/07/2023 22:57

@Lauralozzle @SH998
Hi ladies….I’m currently going through my 6th round of ivf. I’ve been on Lubion following my last 3 transfers.

The first of the 3 was solely Lubion twice a day which I found really difficult to inject as my stomach couldn’t take anymore injections by that point. We had one embryo transferred which failed to implant.

After discussing with my doctor we decided to change the treatment so for the last 2 rounds I’ve been on one injection of Lubion in the morning then 2 x pessaries on an evening. I’ve found this treatment much better. We had 2 embryos transferred on the first round last year with one implanting however I sadly miscarried at 8 wks.

We are currently going through another round following the same treatment plan. Again we had 2 embryos transferred and just received our 12dpt blood results yesterday which came back at 1203 so definitely pregnant! Just waiting for my scan in 2wks to see if we’ve been blessed with more than one.

Hope this provides some reassurance and wish all you ladies the very best of luck on your journeys ❤️💙 xx

Lauralozzle · 08/07/2023 07:58

@Keepingeverythingxxx I’m glad your new protocol is working. That’s fantastic. I’m sorry to hear about your previous losses though.

I think this time around, I’ll maybe ask the clinic for a progesterone test. I started spotting from 7dp5dt so I’m not convinced my progesterone was high enough. My consultant talked about doubling up on the pessaries but my protocol re the progesterone is the same as before. I’m paying for it, so I don’t see why they can’t check my levels. My embryo was poor quality and never really had a chance at implanting but the spotting signals something was off.

Your post has given me some reassurance though, that it can happen and it can work. I’m just apprehensive about this round, we’re changing lots of things but I don’t know if it’s a bit futile and we’ll end up in the same position this time around.

Caroline2023 · 08/07/2023 08:08

@ttcsolomumtobe yes my area allows up to 2 private rounds before 1 nhs round. Yes the waiting has been so difficult, so feeling glad to be moving forwards finally!

@Lauralozzle sorry to hear the latter part of the medication was tough. You must be glad you’re finished now and excited for the next step of stims.

@Keepingeverythingxxx that is fantastic news, congratulations. Sorry to hear about the tough journey you’ve been on.

Olivia199 · 08/07/2023 08:19

@Keepingeverythingxxx - Huge congratulations! What lovely news!

Sorry I checked out a bit there. I've got a chesty cough and cold and feeling a bit yuck. Trying not to be paranoid and reassure myself it'll be gone by transfer.

How's everyone doing? When's our next transfer in the group?

Morning @Olivia199 still spotting over here, it’s got me feeling pretty down. Even though I know it’s pretty normal for day 4-5. Also getting cramps and my boobs are really sore today. All good signs, but also all signs of AF. So I’m feeling pretty low today. Cuddled up at the moment with my tiny best pal (Kitten) who is always good at knowing when I need some love. Hope everyone else is doing ok today!

Olivia199 · 08/07/2023 13:09

@IVFfirsttimer91 - I'm sorry you're feeling so down. If it helps at all, I was certain I was going to come on (even down to the "dragging" feeling down below!). Every single syptom screamed that AF was gearing up. As it happens, she wasn't, and my DD has just given me a big cuddle and a kiss. My symptoms only went from the same as AF to different when I turned 6 weeks and I had some nausea.

It's so normal to have the ups and downs though, one minute full of hope and the next it seems to dissipate.

So glad you've got a fluffy friend looking after you. I've got three of them and they're very very good at doing the same!

IVFfirsttimer91 · 08/07/2023 13:26

@Olivia199 thanks so much. It’s just quite an emotional journey isn’t it. And really exhausting! But it’s ok, it’s one of those things! I have 3 of them as well, it’s currently the dogs turn to keep mummy company, don’t know where the cats are! Hope you’re having a good day!

Olivia199 · 08/07/2023 18:37

@IVFfirsttimer91 - Hugely emotional and completely draining a lot of the time. Thinking of you!
Honestly I'm the same. Wouldn't be without these girls. Though one of them who used to be attached to my hip, has fully fallen in love with DD. So I get much less attention now. The other two are still firmly mine!

IVFfirsttimer91 · 08/07/2023 19:29

Mine are all boys so feel severely outnumbered at the moment haha. But yes I definitely wouldn’t be without them. Thanks for the thoughts and kind words. Means a lot! Xx

MindatWork · 08/07/2023 23:16

Hi all, can I join? I was on here years ago under a different name, had 5 rounds of ivf to conceive our DD who is now 4.5.

We’re just about to start an FET cycle for no. 2 after swearing we were one and done (and selling all our baby stuff last summer 😆).

Im going to the clinic (CRGH) on Monday to have all my screenings done and start norethisterone on the same day.

Feeling VERY apprehensive about it all really. I found Ivf - and pregnancy - really traumatic and can’t quite believe I’m putting myself through it again. It took me a long time to feel ‘ok’ with my body again after having DD (eg not being terrified every time I went to the toilet in case I saw blood as all my failed cycles ended with bleeding before test day and I had a lot of bleeds in the first trimester) and I’m really not looking forward to it.

But then we’ve paid the storage fees for our embryos for 5 years now so were
obviously not ready to let them go! We’re both about as old as we’re comfortable being as new parents, so it’s now or never.

Good luck everyone!

Olivia199 · 09/07/2023 08:20

Hi @MindatWork - Welcome to the group! I'm so sorry to hear about all you went through last time. 😔 you're incredible for going through all this again.
And hey, at least you'll get the joy of repurchasing the baby things?
Exciting that you're due to start soon!

Olivia199 · 09/07/2023 08:21

@Lauralozzle - How are you doing now? Have you started stims? It's so scary when they change so much. You never know whether it'll be the magical key or not.

OP posts:
Lauralozzle · 09/07/2023 08:39

@MindatWork Good luck for your cycle! Sounds like you went through a lot previously.

@Olivia199 Hey, I’m ok. Just waiting for my period to show up. It says on my protocol period is supposed to show up 2-5 days after taking last tablets so I’m still well within that time frame. Today is day 3 of not taking it. Lots of cramps, but no period yet. Other than that I’m fine - I’m used to the waiting that comes with the IVF now!!

Olivia199 · 09/07/2023 08:55

@Lauralozzle - The waiting feels endless! Every time you hit a new step there is more...!
