Hi, I don't think there's a thread for May, not that I could find anyway.

I've just started Norethisterone to bring on AF ready for my FET. I had my ICSI cycle in Feb but was high risk for OHSS, so after retrieving 24 eggs, this clinic decided to freeze all.
Luckily, because I ended up very unwell with OHSS for around 6 weeks and ended up in hospital for a little while!

But I've recovered and soooo ready for my embabies! We're aiming for transfer week commencing 22nd May unless AF comes earlier than planned then it might be the week before. It's likely as I'm on CD46 with all the signs of imminent AF 🤞🏼

If anyone else is cycling in May please feel free to share the journey ✨

Oh no, that second one sounds horrible... how bad was it if you don't mind me asking?

IVFGotThis05 · 25/05/2023 14:51

It's a blur because I was still drugged up with something but it was bad enough for me to kind of cry out, they were just telling me to breathe through it with the gas and air in and that I was doing well.. I still think they had to stop because I was whinging so much.

I'll be honest I think my pain tolerance is high but it was painful and I really wanted it to stop.

In saying that please try not to get worked up about it, everyone is totally different... even my 2 times were totally different! It may be painful during it but its a pain you forget afterwards!!

LittleWeed82 · 25/05/2023 15:09

For people that remember it and were given gas and air etc, were you given intravenous sedation? Just curious really as to how different clinics do it so differently. Or was it just a pill or something?

IVFGotThis05 · 25/05/2023 15:35

Both of mine were intravenous sedation

Ellenn · 25/05/2023 16:01

My last egg collection last year it was IV sedation and can't remember a thing! Literally woke up and felt like I'd had the best nap! I'm hoping its going to be similar although at a different clinic now!

Serendipity24 · 25/05/2023 16:02

In UK at the first two rounds I was given the option of Gas and Air or Conscious Sedation. I chose CS for both. I didn't feel any pain but was aware of everything going on. The nurses were giving me updates on how many eggs they have got etc. They gave me oxygen as well. All in all it felt really calming.

At my last round in Greece I was given Sedation and I fell asleep and don't have any recollection of what happened!

Serendipity24 · 25/05/2023 16:04

Just wanted to add that on all three occasions it was IV.

Infertilitylife · 25/05/2023 16:09

I had sedation through IV and fell asleep.

Sunflower360 · 25/05/2023 19:36

I had intravenous sedation and the whole thing (egg collection, including waking up) took 20 mins, didn't even notice falling asleep

Ellenn · 26/05/2023 06:23

Hope it all goes well this morning ladies who also have egg collection 😁 xx

Marisadea · 26/05/2023 07:12

Good morning everyone! Egg collection day, expected at 12:00pm! I am really looking forward to it, finally.
Good luck to everyone also going through this today! Fingers crossed

Sj2505 · 26/05/2023 07:30

Finally transfer day is here 🥰 my appointment is at 1pm. It's going to be the slowest morning of my life.

@Marisadea @Ellenn @FlapJackered @ManchesterGirl2 good luck for egg collection today.

Looks like this is a big day for a lot of women in the thread ✨✨✨

@MMMarmite my first EG years ago I had IV pain relief and sedation and I could still feel pain so they stopped whilst they doubled it and I don't remember anything after.
The second time in Feb they tried with just IV pain relief and I was horrendous! I could feel everything, I was in so much pain that I was shaking and trying to squirm up the bed. They ended up giving me sedation and the result was instant, I literally felt every muscle in my body relax and I couldn't feel anymore pain and I was drifting asleep.
However the woman before me didn't have sedation and she was fine and was able to walk out, so it's very different for everyone.

@LittleWeed82 that's excellent news! Well done embabies!! Fingers crossed for transfer tomorrow 🤞🏼 we'll have the tww together!

@Quickdraw23 hope your call yesterday went well! Thinking of you.

Welcome to all the new joiners 🤗✨ lots of baby dust to you all! @Ellenn @MMMarmite @Serendipity24 @IVFGotThis05 (I'm not sure if a couple of you have been here before because I recognise the names, or might be going mad haha).

To anyone hiding in the shadows of the thread, I hope you're doing ok ☺️

@Magic2023 Sorry it was a BFN :(

MBiss89 · 26/05/2023 08:25

Good luck @LittleWeed82 @Quickdraw23 @Marisadea
Out of my 12 mature eggs 8 fertilised just waiting on the phone call to find out how many went to day 5 blasts.

MBiss89 · 26/05/2023 08:28

@hereshoping123 yes I changed the protocol from long to short. Last 3 EC have been long so we changed it up and have seemed to respond better xx

kingster1 · 26/05/2023 10:46

Been keeping an eye on everyone's progress. Good luck to all who are having egg collections, awaiting updates, transfers today and over next few days.
I'm on 2 week wait, going a bit mad! Just waiting!

Sj2505 · 26/05/2023 11:12

@Magic2023 sorry to hear you've lost hope. It could still change and I will keep everything crossed for you.

@MBiss89 fingers crossed for those blasts 🤞🏼

@kingster1 glad you're still with us! I'll be joining the insane 2ww club as of around 2pm today! Going to be a loooooong road I think!

Hang in there @kingster1 👍🏼

might be all done but the time you see this @Sj2505 but good luck for your transfer!! Thanks for your well wishes.

5 of my 8 fertilised which I feel very lucky about and I am awaiting a 3 day update tomorrow morning 😳

Sj2505 · 26/05/2023 14:08

@Quickdraw23 thank you! I've just got home, it was done and dusted so quick.
The doctor said my lining looked perfect, the embryo had begun hatching after thawing and the transfer itself went really well. Fingers crossed it sticks!!
5 out of 8 is fab! You must be so happy. Hope the call tomorrow goes just as well 🤩

Hello everyone! Egg collection done. We retrieved 13 eggs! I feel some discomfort but all the rest is fine. Waiting for the call tomorrow ♥️

Ellenn · 26/05/2023 15:18

@Magic2023 so sorry to hear your update 😥 xx

My egg collection went really well but unfortunately I have to do a freeze all cycle due to risk of OHSS. I know i should be thankful that everything has gone so well but I’m so gutted that I can’t do a fresh transfer. The doctors have said I need to wait at least two cycles before a frozen transfer which just seems so far away. I think I’m just being hormonal and emotional about it all tbh and just need to stop being silly. Just one of those things you really look forward to isn’t it!

TheBirdintheCave · 26/05/2023 15:23

@Ellenn I know how you feel :( I had to have a freeze all too. It's such a sucky thing to be told and you're allowed to be feel sad about it. Why have they said two cycles? I was only told one 🤔
