@IVFfirsttimer91 amazing news!!!! Right back on it xx

Frisbeee · 18/05/2023 08:24

Glad to hear everyone is doing well!! Good luck for your scans. I had my second blood test yesterday and all good, it was 261 on Monday and 519 yesterday. My scan is booked for 5 June which seems ages away!!

@IVFfirsttimer91 great to hear you are starting again! It feels so much better when you have a plan to move forward doesn’t it. Do you know if they’re changing anything for you this cycle?

IVFfirsttimer91 · 18/05/2023 09:00

Thanks @CR7 &@Frisbeee . They might give me extra progesterone, and are going to do extra hcg tests so that we know if the foetus stops developing early again sooner so I can avoid 8 weeks of EPU visits and bleeding 🤞. They’ve said we should go for a single transfer again though which is a bit disappointing xx

I’m good thanks @BiscuitLover3678.
Had bloods done today to check my progesterone and its risen to 152 which is really good. Hoping to hear tomorrow if I can do my injections every other which would be great as I’m so sore. I also asked them to check my hCG level which is now 2051, so that’s good. My first scan is booked for the 31st which seems so far away but my consultant is on leave, I’ll be 7+2 by then.

How are you doing? Feeling ok? Xx

Snap again! I am also being scanned then. Does it feel real to you yet?

@BiscuitLover3678 I had it this cycle and maybe that's what made the difference third time around xx

CR7 · 18/05/2023 12:58

@IVFfirsttimer91 wrong tag there sorry it was for you xx

IVFfirsttimer91 · 18/05/2023 13:03

@BiscuitLover3678 thanks! I really hope so. I’m just feeling so tired all the time and equally impatient, it’s a weird mix of feelings. Only a few more weeks to wait though so that’s something!

IVFfirsttimer91 · 18/05/2023 13:04

Thanks @CR7 hopefully it will make the difference for me too! These next few weeks waiting for my period are going to drag so badly 😂

CR7 · 18/05/2023 13:18

@IVFfirsttimer91 this whole thing is a drag xx

Myrtle82 · 18/05/2023 20:50

Hi everyone,
Great to hear things are still going strong for ye. I am so happy to read positive stories.
Unfortunately my update isn't good news. My Otd was last Sunday and my blood test Monday showed a hgc of 102.
I returned this morning (Thurs) and it was only 130. It didn't double.
So from what I understand and have read, the pregnancy is not viable. I knew the 102 was low but I did have hope it might double.
Now, my clinic has asked me to repeat the hcg bloods on Monday and continue all my meds too (progesterone, prednisone) but I wonder whats the point?
This was my 4th Icsi round and the furthest I've ever gotten. I just can't seem to hold the embryo. I wish there was a way to find out why or more or do tests to see why this is failing. My clinic just says it's a positive sign that I get implantation but €25,000 spent so far, if feels like I'm just in the dark.
Does anyone know what tests I should ask for? Any advice?
I will have to park it for a few months as 4 rounds in 11 months has left me drained and feeling hopeless. I thought it was all worth it when it took last week but now I feel back to square one.
Disappointed 😪

IVFfirsttimer91 · 18/05/2023 21:38

@Myrtle82 im really sorry to see your update, that’s exactly what happened with our last round and it’s so hard when you’re in the limbo of not knowing for sure. Don’t give up hope yet, sometimes things just take longer. I hope your next test gives you good news. Xx

BiscuitLover3678 · 19/05/2023 17:07

I’m sorry you are going through this @Myrtle82 and I hope it is still good news for you. If no then I hope you get some closure soon.

@Myrtle82 sending you lots of love x

Myrtle82 · 19/05/2023 19:35

Thanks guys @IVFfirsttimer91 @BiscuitLover3678 @CR7 , it's all just part of this rollercoaster of ivf. I feel less distressed today and just more acceptant of it.
I am starting to read up on surrogacy and if anyone has any links or advice I'd appreciate it?
I will let ye know my hcg update Monday and then leave you to enjoy your journeys. I love reading positive stories, it gives me hope so keep them coming xx

Vallef · 19/05/2023 20:34

@Myrtle82 I am so so sorry but try and weight until Monday at least you never know sometimes you hear stories with a slight delay? Stay positive. So many of us have done 4 and 5 rounds and heck I've known people who did 9 rounds before they got a successfully pregnancy so never give up. I PM you with some info on tests xx

No idea but just as a warning a lot of people on mumsnet are really anti surrogacy and a couple of posts recently have been really, really negative about it :( I’m sure there is a lot of info out there, just wanted to give you a heads up! I know it can work wonderfully for lots of people. Actually it might be worth following some surrogacy mums on instagram as a start.

@Vallef thank you, your so kind. Your pms are v welcome.
@BiscuitLover3678 thanks for the heads up, the last thing I need is to upset anyone. It's just a choice some people might need to make and knowledge is everything.

I was thinking more about it upsetting you tbh. You have enough to think about. Please keep us posted and hopefully there is more positive to come :)

@BiscuitLover3678 that's actually really disturbing I can't believe there's people like that. Everyone should do what they feel is best for them I wish people could be more understanding. To be fair I considered it when I was going through my womb cancer as I was told I had to have a hysterectomy due to mot responding. People where horrible and said I should adopt which killed me because I had looked into it but they won't let you adopt when you have cancer as they don't want ro place a child with someone who might die. Wish people woulndt be so quick to judge no one knows the heartache of wanting a baby so much it consumes you.

@Myrtle82 you do what's best for you and we are all still here to support you whatever you decide xx

I agree, people really don’t get it.
We are a safe space here :)

Totally agree @BiscuitLover3678 hard to relax until the scan! When is yours?

Is anyone else having lots of cramps still?

Fizzle1987 · 23/05/2023 17:21

@BiscuitLover3678 exactly the same 🙈 I’ve got until the 31st so still a week to go. 😕 xx

@Frisbeee i tend to get them now if I get up to quick or do a quick movement from lounging on the sofa to standing up, if that makes sense? Sometimes I get the odd one when sitting at my desk at work but definitely less frequent than last week xx
