Looking for buddies to come on this journey with me.

VioletCookie · 20/04/2023 22:05

Oh @Carly05 I'm so sorry. I know nothing will make you feel any better right now, but just know we're thinking of you. It's so unfair! Xx

Carly05 · 20/04/2023 22:48

Thanks everyone for Ur kind words. Good look with everyone's TWW xxx.

charja100 · 21/04/2023 14:20

Hey @everyone how are we getting in with the TWW? I'm only 2dp5dt and I'm impatient: I also have the worst headache today and it's come out of now where 😔

Anyone else had any kind of symptoms in their first few days/ week after transfer?

Hi, I’m currently on day 7 of stimulation injections, my fist cycle
of IVF at 38! 😬
Is anyone considering PGT-A? The clinic advised it but didn’t really go
into
much information

thanks
kez

charja100 · 21/04/2023 21:49

Hi @Ksangha welcome to the thread.
I'm also 38 and first round of IVF with ICSI. I haven't PGT A this round. We've selected a multi package option and cost us quite a lot up front. We will review If we're not successful from these rounds (I'm currently Pupo with fresh transfer. And have two in freezer). we will explore it for next time if unsuccessful I think

Ksangha · 21/04/2023 21:53

Oh thanks that’s good to know, I was thinking of doing the same, I also haven’t had much input from the clinic
i had an initial consultation with the doctor, and when I decided to go ahead with treatment Iv just seen nurses - is this normal?
I’m so nervous at each stage!

magh333 · 22/04/2023 04:00

Hi, can I join too?

35 this year, TTC for few years, married 7 years. This is my first IVF/ICSI, tried IUI twice but fail, 2019 chemical pregnancy.

So my journey started from: Gonal F injection from 30 March to 8 April. Egg retrieved on 10 April. ICSI ET on 13 April with 2 embryos and 2 frozen. Now I'm taking Duphaston 10mg Twice a day and utrogestan 300mg twice a day.
Today is 9dp3dt. Having few symptoms like backaches, headaches, feeling tired all the time, legs feel tired and no energy, left abdomen and waist area not feeling well, but afraid these are side effects from the pills.

Blood test will be on 26 April. Scare and nervous 😥😓

Flowerlover010 · 22/04/2023 07:57

@Ksangha hi im 37 going to start first ivf round with ICSI and PGTA. It was a hard decision to make but i decided to go for it because of my history of 3 natural miscarriages and the fact my last miscarriage got tested and was abnormal chormosomes so really PGTA is a sensible option for me to try avoid another miscarriage but it is still a hard decision as people have different views on it. Feel free to ask me anything i will try relay what my consultant said as we had to have a separate consultation on it, that might be why they havent said much on it to you yet.

MRSLMF · 22/04/2023 08:37

I'm 5dp5dt today holding off testing until tomorrow, I did a test yesterday at 4dpt and was negative and even though I expected it as really early to test it affected my mood all day!
I've had intermittent low down cramping and low back pain since day of transfer, mood swings, and some nausea. I've done a non medicated FET this time so no meds at all just timed with my natural cycle. With my fresh transfer earlier in the year (it failed)I had progesterone via lubion injections once daily and progesterone pessaries once daily and I felt terrible! I felt so unwell it was almost like the poor embryo was being put into a toxic environment lol. Hence the choice to go natural this time, although I do wonder if I should have had even just the pessaries but too late now.
@Ksangha I only see nurses now too. I had a TC with consultant after my failed fresh transfer but then back to nurse led care
Xxx

ho8ll8y · 22/04/2023 20:11

Help, I have just started my first round of IVF/ICSI this month! I had my egg retrieval yesterday. We retrieved 23 eggs, 19 of which were mature. The clinic called me back today to say that 10 fertilised. My instant reaction was disappointment as we lost almost half but my husband pushed me to stay confident. Fingers and toes crossed for our day 3 phone call. Sending everyone lots of love and baby dust 🥰 xxxx

Ksangha · 23/04/2023 10:06

@MRSLMF thank you, my main worry is that I won’t have many eggs on collection, the even less with testing.m, and some of the ‘bad’ ones could be glass positives.

I’m doing the IVF by myself using a donor, so never tried to get pregnant or been pregnant, so not sure what my body is actually capable of!

MRSLMF · 23/04/2023 13:16

@Ksangha my egg collection was poor I only needed up with 2 embryos, used one I'm a fresh and this one as a frozen....I'm 6dpt and testing negative today! Ah well! Not much hope so it will likely be back to egg collection again for us.
My friend used a donor she had 8 embryos and now has 2 healthy ivf babies :)
Fingers crossed for you xxx
@ho8ll8y that's a very good egg collection!!! Fingers crossed for you too!
Xx

Flower356 · 23/04/2023 15:43

I'm due to start my first IVF cycle tomorrow also ICSI. Feeling nervous and excited so glad to find some others a little bit ahead of me so I can know want to expect!

charja100 · 23/04/2023 18:54

@Ksangha you should definitely explore the testing if it's of interest to you. I think you have to make a judgment call based on your own circumstances. Let us know what you decide to do. And lucky you have @Flowerlover010 who can pass on their experience! I also only see nurses now. I haven't seen a dr since initial consultation or during a procedure.

@ho8ll8y welcome to the thread. Congratulations on getting so many eggs! You have such great numbers. I thought I was lucky with 14! My numbers below might help with some comparisons.

14 collected
13 mature
5 fertilised (using ICSI as were male factor)
5 made to day 5 blast
2 not good enough to freeze
2 in freezer
1 in situ, currently PUPO in TWW

It's definitely quality over quantity but you have had a great start! It's difficult to see the drop off at each stage but it's normal unfortunately. I know it's super hard, but try not to be too disappointed, you have great odds there! Congrats on starting your journey!

Thank you so much! Fingers and toes crossed for you too 🤞🏼🥚👶🏼 🥰xxxx

ho8ll8y · 23/04/2023 19:14

Yes the attrition is hard seeing the numbers go down like that! Thank you so much for your kind words! Fingers and toes crossed for you too 🤞🏼🥚👶🏼🥰 xxxx

Flower356 · 23/04/2023 20:00

Thank you so much, its just good to have other people to talk to in the same boat! It's such a personal thing and I don't think until you are in this position you truly understand. I am staying positive that this will be our time.

I start on norethisterone before the injections start. Have people experienced many side effects throughout the injections?

girljulian · 23/04/2023 20:09

@ho8ll8y hello! Remember you don’t always have a huge level of attrition — embryos don’t know about statistics! I only started with four collected and I ended up with 3 blasts, one in and on in the freezer. If you got the same attrition rate from fertilisation you’d have 7-8 freezable blasts on day 5.

girljulian · 23/04/2023 20:10

*two in the freezer

charja100 · 23/04/2023 20:22

@Flower356 I was so nervous about starting injections and the side effects but actually the whole experience wasn't bad at all. I think the unknown was what had bothered me and I'd worked myself up a bit.

In terms of side effects. On the first day I had a bad headache but that was rectified by upping my water intake. I did get a bit swollen and bloated towards the end of the meds before egg collection, which is to be expected, but other than that I was okay. Nothing at all.
