IVF April 2023

Hi all,

I'm about to start my first IVF ICSI cycle. I expect to start my stims next week and all being well will have a fresh transfer in April.

Looking for buddies to come on this journey with me.

@VioletCookie gosh thats so heart breaking for you, I really hope you get some happy news soon!
5 to 8 weeks seems like such a long time to wait but fingers crossed will get you the answers you need.

@VioletCookie every bit of news we get is always filled with so many different emotions So don't feel bad it's a normal response. 4blastos is good but totally understand your disappointment in the drop of rate! stay strong and keep talking to Ur husband ( even if u don't feel like it !! X)

I'm feeling low this evening noticed a bit of light brown/ pink blood on my pad and feel crappy... Think it may be start of my period 😭. I'm day 8 of my 2ww....

Meant Feeling Crampy not crappy!!! (!although I do feel that too!!)

@Carly05 that must be really confusing and stressful to have seen 😔 I'm certainly no medical professional but I feel like 8 days after transfer is too early for your period.. so could this be a good sign? I'm sure while it's brown and pink it's not game over and could be burrowing in nice and deep! It's so rubbish how period and pregnancy symtoms are pretty much the same 🤦🏼‍♀️I hope you're OK and that there's nothing more to come, let us know how you are tomorrow xx

Thanks @VioletCookie I am really hoping that it is an implantation bleed but seems a little late for that I think?? There is More light brown blood this morn covering a panty liner.... Has anyone had spotting before and can tell me how much they had how long it lasted for?? Also if anyone else had their period start around day 8!after TF?..... panicking 😟😰!!

@Carly05 I think it can be at 8 days perhaps even later as it can be mistaken for a light period and around that time, but I don't want to tell you not to stress as I know it's really triggering! I'm sorry you're having to deal with this. Is your test Friday at home or at the clinic? X

@Carly05 did you have a FET? If so I could definitely be implantation bleeding. I read in the book ISWTE that frozen embryos can implant up to a couple of days later than fresh.

It's so hard to tell better period and pregnancy symptoms. If you're worried I would call the clinic. They might advise a progesterone test.

.@charja100 it was a fresh transfer. Think I will give my clinic a call later see what they advise. But have a sinking feeling it's the start of my period xx

Try not to give up hope! Until AF arrives it could just be spotting. Let us know how it goes if you call the clinic.

@Carly05 following my fresh transfer I bled heavily on day 9, there was no spotting first i just woke up with the heaviest bleed I've ever had (TMI) I normally have the most pathetic periods so was quite shocked!
The fact yours is spotting could be a good sign? I'm not very experienced at this whole thing but I'd say you still have some hope? Fingers toes and eyes crossed for you!
@VioletCookie my OTD is 28th.....feels a lifetime away! I'm wondering if to do some light exercise today as I'm going insane lounging round doing nothing!

Thanks for everyones comments and reassurance. I called the clinic today they think to late for implantation bleed but could just be progesterone spotting. I'm 80% sure it's start of period but will just keep going with progesterone until my test Fri and pray for no fresh red blood. If it comes Tommorrow I'm going to be a mess at work 😬 had a little cry break on a poor colleague today when they asked how I was !!!poor girl !!😂

@MRSLMF I felt the same re no exercise!!! I did lots of walking then did Did a gentle yoga day 3 then on day 5 a gentle gym session -hill walk /bike /xtrain 10 min each and some easy bodyweight exercises ( I felt soo much better for it!!)
How u feeling @VioletCookie ? I thought of u today when I got angry with my husband who wasn't as upset as me !!! Even though the men are standing by us through IVF its our poor body's and emotions that have a super rough ride

So we had four of the five make it to today. But one wasn't good enough to freeze so three really. Two have gone in the freezer bit he grade 2 (very good) and care maps of 6 and 7

The best one was also grade 2 (very good) with a score of 10 on Care Maps (which is the highest score). It's already started hatching, which I've been told is a good thing. Its now safely on board and I just have to wait.

Obviously we don't know if there's any chromosome issues but I'm being positive.

Now it's just time to wait! This is going to be a long two weeks!

I'm definitely doing some light exercise tomorrow it will be day 3 post transfer! I'm thinking 10min cycle 10 min xtrainer 10min Hill walk and maybe a bit of light gardening. I need distraction from the snack cupboard lol

Great news @charja100 — is your test date 4 May? Mine is 2…

@girljulian I've just checked my paperwork and it says test date is 2nd May. Feels so far away 🤣

@VioletCookie I'm really sorry your day 5 update wasn't as you hoped, and don't feel like you're being negative and ungrateful at all, completely understand and however you feel is valid ❤️ I hope you're feeling a little better and hopefully the test results come back quicker than they've suggested 🤞🏻

@girljulian congrats to being PUPO! Sending lots of luck and I hope it's a speedy tww! I have also been a poor responder in the past but my last two cycles with create and mild ivf have went so much better, 4 blasts and one embyro that was frozen on day 3.

@charja100 that's great you have three on day 5 💗 and yay congrats on your transfer and being PUPO too! Being positive is definitely the best way to be! I have tried to remain positive and not overthink anything! It's gotten harder as the days have gone on but just have to hope 🙏🏻

@Carly05 I'm really sorry you're going through a stressful time with spotting! I hope that's it's stopped and you're feeling ok 🫶🏻 as your clinic say, it may just be from the progesterone! I have everything crossed for you xxx

@Jx3303 thanks so much! Yes, I was utterly thrilled to have 3 blasts this time from four eggs. I mean I was thrilled to get four eggs, but a 75% eggs to blastocyst rate had me walking on air. I know it's not the big numbers some women get but I was never gonna have that!

@girljulian amazing! Really can be quality over quantity for some of us. We got 2 eggs this last cycle that both fertilised and made it to day 5, 100% rate made me very happy. One of those is back in 🤞🏻

How is everybody feeling in their 2ww?
I'm so impatient I wasn't going to test until Monday but now I'm thinking Saturday although that will only be 5dpt.
I've done a natural one so no evil progesterone (that stuff made me crazy) I have no cramping at all anymore, no implantation bleeding, no breast tenderness...

Hi everyone, sorry I've been rubbish at keeping up with the thread. Sounds like a lot has been going on!

Congrats to everyone who is now PUPO! I'm 6 days past the 3 day transfer and have still got 6 days until the blood test. Don't think I'll test at home before then, I couldn't bear if it was negative. How are people coping with the wait? I'm trying to keep busy while also take it easy, but it's so hard! Had some cramping yesterday and tender boobs but trying not to read too much into it, it's probably just the delightful progesterone pessaries 😂 other than that no symptoms really. I've also tried the IVF meditation on Spotify which someone suggested and found it really good.

Hope everyone else is also ok, whatever stage you're at. There's so many ups and downs and it's really hard when you're waiting for things to happen, here if anyone needs to vent!

Hi all. Feeling absolutely emotionally drained , Spotting/Light bleeding for last 2 days has just turned into my period 😭.supposed to test Tommorrow. Gutted... feels so much worse failing at this stage than after EC ( As in our 1st round) you build up soo much hope.... This is soo tough 😞
