Hi all,

I'm about to start my first IVF ICSI cycle. I expect to start my stims next week and all being well will have a fresh transfer in April.

Looking for buddies to come on this journey with me.

@charja100 thank you. Well my PGTA testing cost £750 for first embryo and £350 for each one after. I also obviously didnt get a fresh transfer because of testing and so there is an extra for frozen tranfer too which im not sure exactly how much is but over £1000 anyway. So the more u have obviously the more expensive.

@April623 i havent had a consultation yet to discuss what tests are suitable for me yet but i know that i have no issues with lining, i do want to ideally check my progesterone and ive been looking into, and ordered myself a Vaginal Microbiome test online which im doing myself at home and sending off to test ph levels 'down there' as ive always had a bit of trouble in past and with all 3 of my miscarriages i had 'discomfort' down there so want to cover that off in case that has anything to do with my MC also.

@VioletCookie fingers crossed it all goes to plan for you. I find stress helps delay a period!!!🤞🤞🤞🙏

Hey lovely ladies!
How is everybody getting on?

I'm patiently waiting for AF to arrive so hopefully we can do the transfer in a couple of weeks.

I've been regular forever, but have been told after all of the treatment you can be a bit all over the place, so hoping that doesn't happen!

charja100 · 23/06/2023 22:58

@VioletCookie and @Flowerlover010 thank you for the i formation on PGTA. Definitely one for me to think about for next collection of my transfers are unsuccessful.

Did AF hold out? Did you make your appointment?

So update from me... Works been pretty hectic but it's been okay as it's kept me occupied! I felt like I was waiting for AF to arrive forever! AF finally arrived on Wednesday, and I now have my down reg scan booked for next Wednesday. Getting nervous again now.

@Flower356 waiting for AF is the worst, when are you due? Mine was late but I think that was caused by the Buserilin I've been taking.

Glad to be back on the road to getting somewhere again. It's felt forever since our fresh transfer failed in April.

Morning! AF managed to hold out. Had the hysteroscopy yesterday to remove the polyp... but there's no polyp. The ultrasound showed something that looked like a polyp (we could all see it) and what looked like a blood supply going to it (will attach picture, it's the long blue line) but yesterday there was literally nothing! I've not had a period since so it's not like I've bled it out, so I'm really confused. I'm not sure if I'm happy or worried now! The whole procedure was about 2 minutes. Was interesting to see inside my uturus though! And it confirmed I'm arcute not subseptate so there's no septum to worry about at least 🤷🏼‍♀️ just wish we'd gone ahead with the transfer now and not wasted this time

@charja100 I really hope everything works for you this time and you get a BFP 🙏🏼 there's always a lot of waiting isn't there, feels like months pass by each time. Keep us updated.

@Flower356 hope AF makes an appearance soon! When are you due on?

Flower356 · 24/06/2023 09:20

@charja100 Tomorrow, but I don't feel like I normally do if that makes sense?!

I've not been on any medication this next, and it's my second cycle since egg retrieval but the nurses did say it might mess up a couple of cycles.

Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly for you - it's a tough journey.

@VioletCookie it's so tricky isn't it - just adds to the roller coaster. Did they seem puzzled too as to where the polyp had gone? The human body is very strange!

Flowerlover010 · 24/06/2023 11:13

@charja100 good luck with your next transfer i bet it cant come soon enough. So much waiting.

@Flower356 hope period comes soon i heard it takes longer the next cycle after EC, im a couple weeks off mine as yet but already feel like everything is late with ovulation so i expect mine will take forever too! AF NEVER plays ball does it!

@VioletCookie hope you can press on now and put it all behind you with some answers at least.

VioletCookie · 24/06/2023 17:32

@Flower356 hopefully you're only delayed a few days if at all! How are you feeling about having a transfer soon? Do you know what grading you'll be using?

They told me it was probably never a polyp so we could have gone ahead with the FET. Perhaps just some thick lining, no idea 🤷🏼‍♀️

I feel terrible admitting this, but I've actually really enjoyed having some drinks sat in the sun! So although we were really upset, it's not been the worst time of year to have an IVF break.

charja100 · 25/06/2023 11:01

Great news AF held out @VioletCookie and also that there's no septum! It's good to have the peace of min and although I know it feels like a further delay but at least you know 💯 And as you say being able to have a break and a drink and enjoy the sunshine is a nice break. We do need to have lives too otherwise this journey would be even harder!

Thanks for the positivity 🙏🏼. I'm really hopeful but also struggling to be that positive this time around. The clinic were so upbeat about our chances last time talking about the grading and the hatching etc and it really made us think it was going to be successful. So when I started bleeding 6dp5dt after a feint line I was a bit broken. Not sure I can deal with that again so trying to be a realist.

Thanks @Flowerlover010 . How are you? Any update on your consultation / tests? Do you have an guide of when will you have your transfer?

@Flower356 hoping AF arrived for you soon. Mine was "late" but can't be sure if it was the buserilin or just my body getting back to normal after my unsexy was full fresh.

@charja100 nothing can prepare you for the rollercoaster. Absolutely nothing. It's just so hard. Did you get a progesterone blood test on transfer day? I'm such an advocate of it as I believe it made a huge difference for me (along with other things for sure) xx

Flowerlover010 · 25/06/2023 13:35

@charja100 its totally understandable how you feel and to try be realistic but its also hard to not secretly hope and believe it will work first time, we all do. I only have one to try and i will have to do a whole new round again which makes me feel bit sick really. I dont have a consultation until 5th july which seems ages away to find out what the plan is for next steps and what tests and thats about a week roughly before my period is due so really hoping to start the process next month. Hope AF doesnt mess about and comes at a reasonable time.

charja100 · 26/06/2023 00:32

@CR7 so I did get one actually. My result was quite high circa 200 odd I forget the exact number now but I have it written down in a book downstairs. They were insistent that I didn't need it and made me feel stupid for asking for it. But I was adamant I wanted it so paid for it in the end, as my clinic don't do progesterone testing on fresh cycles only on frozen.

My consultant has changed my protocol slightly for this round and has put me on lubion alongside cyclogest so we'll see if that helps make a difference. She said I shouldn't have bled so early. It's hard because we decided not to pgta test this round. As we paid for multi cycle, we said we'd try the first round without pgta testing and add it in on the next round if we weren't successful. It does mean that the chemical could have been the result of an unviable embryo.

charja100 · 26/06/2023 00:37

@Flowerlover010 that's so true. Of course we all hope for miracles, it's only natural when we all want something so badly. I have everything crossed for you. I know it's hard to hear but it really only does take one. And this one round has every chance of success as you've been though so much up front with the testing to make sure it's your best shot!

5th July isn't too far away now. It won't be long and you'll have your protocol and will be on your way. I find the waiting for it all to begin as hard as the TWW was. There's alway just so much waiting! The upside of all of this is that I've become a lot more patient. 😂

Really glad you asked. On transfer day they wanted me at 30 and I was at 20. They would have cancelled my transfer if I was at 15.

I am on lubion and will be until my 12 weeks scan in a couple of days. Really glad they have made changes and listened to you xx

MRSLMF · 27/06/2023 14:04

Hi all
How you all doing?! I disappeared for a while after our April fet as needed to psych myself up for another egg collection!
We started a long protocol this time do I'm 2 weeks into buserelin down regging.....this buserelin is awful! I've got terrible side effects, tired, dizzy, headaches. I didn't have buserelin on the short protocol.
Back at clinic 4th July for a scan then hopefully starting stimms at higher dose than last time! I'm so eager to get to stimms!
How are you all doing? Any bfps?

charja100 · 27/06/2023 22:38

Welcome back @MRSLMF I'm glad that you took the time you needed to prepare for the next collection. I'm sorry that you've all those side effects! I've also been down regging ready for my FET, I've not had too much dizziness but I keep waking up in the middle of the night with hot sweats and I'm so tired!

I have my down reg scan tomorrow and all being well will start adding in some hormones gradually. I also can't wait to get to oestrogen 😂. Really hoping down reg is confirmed and no nasty surprises. Not sure I could handle the disappointment.

One BFP so far @CR7 is giving us all hope!

Congratulations @CR7
@charja100 good luck for your scan, fingers crossed everything goes smoothly for you! This is one of the hardest journeys with so many ups and downs but eventually I like to think it all works out for everyone on the journey! Fingers crossed this is your time xxx
I've been signed off work due to side effects I just can't cope with the stress of work, meds side effects, and the emotional roller coaster of this journey!

Flowerlover010 · 04/07/2023 15:21

Hey how is everyone doing? Im starting to drive myself nuts with all the waiting now!
@Flower356 have you had a transfer now?
@charja100 when do you think you will transfer?

Flower356 · 04/07/2023 15:35

@Flowerlover010 not yet. I've just had my baseline scan, and I'm on the next drugs I've lost track of what they even are now! It should be in just over 2 weeks if all goes to plan. Feeling quite nervous but excited. I'm with you on all of the waiting, it all seems like it takes forever!

Flowerlover010 · 04/07/2023 15:42

@Flower356 blimey how many weeks from when AF started to transfer? I have no idea what to expect for transfer but do have my consultation tomorrow so i guess I'll know more then. Still waiting for my period too which still feels miles off

Flower356 · 04/07/2023 15:45

@Flowerlover010 I was a whole week late. Its 10-12 days of these tablets, then another 5 days of injections. I've very much enjoyed the break from the injections so dreading starting those again.

Flowerlover010 · 04/07/2023 16:08

@Flower356 thank you. Do u mind me asking what the tablets and injections are?

Flower356 · 04/07/2023 21:23

@Flower356 The tablets are osterogen and the injections are progesterone. There's some pessaries too which i believe are also progesterone.

Its really interesting how everyone has something a little bit different!

charja100 · 07/07/2023 19:30

@Flowerlover010 hello! I've been away with work so just catching up.

It will be interesting to hear at the consultation what your protocol is. If you're doing natural or medicated transfer, and then if you down regulate as that will help you roughly plan your timeline.

@Flower356 your just a little behind me!

I was also a week late for my period but that was because I had a longer protocol because I down regulated, and had buserilin injections. These can make you late.

So I had my scan today and they confirmed my lining is ready. So i've been scheduled for FET on Friday! Eek
