I followed the recommendations from it starts with the egg.

I'm pretty down after my egg collection. I only got 3 from 5 mature follicles which is low considering my AMH is 13.4 and I actually have 16/17 follicles. I know they where aiming for 10 mature.

I think we will have to do another round. So disappointed as funding privately and just doesn't seem to tally up with my counts. I am going to ask for different meds next time as my concern is they haven't done as planned.

LF82 · 07/03/2023 13:57

@LittleDoveLove so sorry you are feeling down, it’s such a hard journey. When will you know how the 3 have fertilised? Sending you lots of luck x

Irisjj · 07/03/2023 14:48

@MaybeBabyTwo I totally get your feeling. My anxiety is also through the roof. I try to take it slow but its just very stressful with work and not knowing if the cycle is going well! I know.. google is so tempting but giving worst case scenarios. I feel so negative with like anticipating the worst…

@LittleDoveLove good luck today, hopefully everything will go smooth!!
@Banbi im glad you are doing well. Hopefully the wait isn’t too long. Are you doing a transfer as well if everything goes well?

I’m feeling super stressed. I had a scan yesterday and on day 4 I already have a couple of 14mm follicles. Everything went through the roof!! So… they immediately called me to inject cetrotide to avoid me ovulating too early. I was worried the whole night. This morning I had to drive to the other office 1 hour away from my house for another scan. I know have 8 follicles on each ovary but the biggest one is already 18MM.. Just worried that it grew way too fast and will impact the quality of the eggs :(

Happy that my body is responding but it is responding waaay to much. They cut me back on meds now twice in a row. Just hope we make it through the weekend bc they won’t do a collection before Monday. We might loose some of the bigger ones but hopefully I will not ovulate too soon. The doc reassured me that they are on top of it, but still feels weird!

And.. milestone! I injected myself this morning… we had to inject in the car and my husband had such a weird angle to inject so I was like ehhh noooooo give me that. Felt like a big step to do it and I didn’t pass out haha.

Katie12444 · 07/03/2023 15:14

@Banbi @LF82 thanks both! X

Thank you @LF82, they ring in the morning to say how many have been fertilised. Trying to stay hopeful but just feels an uphill battle with so few.

@Irisjj well done on injecting 😊 once you have done it once it's easier x

LittleDoveLove · 08/03/2023 10:12

Hi all
Just an update 2 of the 3 have fertilised so we now have the wait. Crossing everything one can make it. They have booked my transfer for day 3. Possibly day 5 if both looking ok. So anxious as so few of them and my age is not a helpful factor (40) X

Katie12444 · 08/03/2023 10:31

@LittleDoveLove fingers crossed for you! X

@LittleDoveLove got my fingers crossed for you! I know it’s so hard not to worry but do your best to stay occupied x

Irisjj · 08/03/2023 13:38

@LittleDoveLove good luck!! Im keeping my fingers crossed for you ❤️

laurapop · 08/03/2023 14:59

Hi everyone, just trying to catch up so sorry for my lengthy message!

@MaybeBabyTwo try not to worry too much about the injections. Each person has a different treatment plan so its hard to google these things. And the clinic do this day in day out so you just have to trust them. I understand the anxiety going through the roof though i was exactly the same during my last pregnancy too! Weirdly I wasn't too anxious during my last FET cycle (maybe because it worked first time with my daughter), but since that failed I'm feeling really apprehensive about this one coming, and feeling like its going to fail before its even started!

@KLM25 its a weird position to be in I think trying again after having a successful pregnancy. I feel so grateful to have my daughter and almost feel guilty that I'm trying again?! I'm sorry you've had 3 more failed attempts - fingers crossed for this one. We have one more frozen embryo for this round but if that fails too, we will have to do another egg collection/fresh round which i really didn't want to do :(. I found that bit so stressful waiting to hear about all the numbers!!

@Irisjj I can't remember fully the size/number of my follicles when i had egg collection 3 years ago but i definitely responded well too and had a couple of follicles that were too big (one the size of a grape!). But as there were so many we still got a fair amount of viable eggs - 15 maybe? Sounds like even if some of yours are too big you will still be in a good position :) when do you have another scan?

@LittleDoveLove 2 out of 3 to fertilise is a really good result so sounds like they are good quality! i know its really cliche but it only takes 1!! its obviously reassuring to have some embryos to freeze but you just never know how they will perform. When will you hear back?

greentreeseverywhere · 08/03/2023 15:46

Hi all. Egg collection done! 14 were collected and they just rang to say my Husbands sample was really good so no need for icsi as this was a query they brought up after my failed round.

I'm back in bed and very tired so hoping for good news tomorrow and wishing the days away for a 5 day transfer

Sd183 · 08/03/2023 15:56

@greentreeseverywhere thats great news!

and @LittleDoveLove great news on your 2 fertilised!

greentreeseverywhere · 08/03/2023 18:31

@Banbi hope you got good news!

LittleDoveLove · 08/03/2023 18:58

@greentreeseverywhere best of luck with your eggs! I am so nervous

@laurapop they have booked me in for Friday for a Day 3 transfer. They said if they are both looking ok they may push to Day 5 but I think they are keen to get them back in with me having so few. I've booked accupuncture for pre and post transfer and reflexology tomorrow night!

I will only hear from them now if neither of them make it. Crossing everything 🤞

LittleDoveLove · 08/03/2023 18:59

Also thanks everyone it's such a rollercoaster ride! Almost cried when she said about 2 this morning. Luckily was on the walk to work and not in the office ! X

Stopthatnoisemummy · 08/03/2023 20:42

Great news @LittleDoveLove and @greentreeseverywhere

All fine for me at my scan yesterday. Have to start ovulation tests Sunday and back for the next scan on Monday. Imagine I'll get told when to trigger and get booked in for transfer, so will be nice to have a bit more certainty over when things are happening.

MrsWatson84 · 09/03/2023 14:42

Hi ladies, hope it’s OK if I join? Had EC for round 2 yesterday and now in the wait for potential fresh transfer. Hope to share with people in the same boat, it’s such an emotional rollercoaster isn’t it?

Had 17 eggs collected yesterday, they were able to do ICSI on 15, 9 fertilised (a little less than would be expected). I’m being monitored for OHSS too due to number of follicles and only had a 5000 gonasi trigger which my doom googling says can affect quality.

Whilst the numbers above look good, it’s anxiety from our last round that’s making me worry. We had 15 eggs then, 11 mature, 9 fertilised then too, and whilst I had a transfer it was a very early blastocyst and all the rest had stopped progressing.

Short protocol both times, firstly with Gonal-F and this time with meriofert, as potentially the double hormone in the latter might make a difference with quality. Anyone have any real world examples of that?

Just finding the process so emotionally hard. I’m 39, and this would be my first child, so worrying about running out of time.

Really sorry to be a downer and the hopeful positivity from this thread is great. Hopefully some can rub off on me!! Good luck to all other March cycles x

MrsWatson84 · 09/03/2023 14:44

Wow I just read that back and what a Debbie downer! Sorry to hijack the thread and make it about me. At least I have a chance at this point that’s what I keep trying to remember 🤞🏼

Irisjj · 09/03/2023 23:23

@MrsWatson84 I totally get you!!! The process is just nerve wracking and a mind game in it self.

im also constantly nervous.. but keep trying to remember that its out of my control and take it step by step. Hopefully you don’t get ant OHSS symptoms!

@Stopthatnoisemummy sounds all promising! Hopefully you have the date soon!

@laurapop thank you for that reassurance!!!

Im having daily scans, its still progressing - doc said I shouldn’t worry about the sizes (a couple are around 19mm and 18mm) but the earliest I can trigger is Saturday night.

So just hoping my eggs will not overmature.. any one knows what size follicles they triggered? My estradiol is already 2000 right now so probably on the watch out for OHSS.

The egg harvest fest (EC) is probably on Monday!!

MaybeBabyTwo · 10/03/2023 08:18

@Irisjj it's a long time ago now since I did our fresh cycle so I can't remember the numbers exactly but I definitely remember being worried about this but the clinic knew what they were doing and we ended up with loads of eggs (27) and 7 embryos. So try to keep the faith, they know what they're doing x

KLM25 · 10/03/2023 09:11

@laurapop Thankyou. Yes I feel guilty in a way too, but I just keep thinking that I really want him to have a brother or a sister. It’s definitely much tougher than the first time round. Mind you, that was in lockdown, I was furloughed and I had all the time in the world to rest up, so it’s hardly surprising! Like you say, once you’ve seen a few negative pregnancy tests, it becomes more and more nerve wracking. I’m trying to just take it one step at a time and not look too far ahead. My transfer’s booked in for next Wednesday. Have literally just started the progesterone, 400mg twice a day and I’ll be doing my best to space it out 12 hours apart this time. I’m hoping that might make a difference but who knows 🥴
Hope everyone has a great Friday and the snow doesn’t cause too much disruption ❄️ x

MrsWatson84 · 10/03/2023 09:22

@Irisjj thank you that's good advice. My follicles were on the larger end too (circa 20mm) and they didn't seem too concerned.... only that then that's the reason for OHSS monitoring. They asked me to take a 5000 gonasi trigger rather than the 10,000 last time so it didn't push them too much. Good look for the harvest festival (love the name!) x

ObsidianDeck · 10/03/2023 11:58

Hi everyone! Joining a bit late - I have been booked for EC on Monday, so will be doing my trigger shot Saturday evening. My estrodial is also 2000 now and I am quite a bit worried that they will not let me do fresh transfer. Doctor says I am at medium risk of OHSS due to the estrodial and number of follicles (around 24).

Jupiteer · 10/03/2023 16:47

Hi all
I am on day 1 of stims for my second attempt to have our first baby 🤞
My first cycle in January was cancelled the day before the egg collection as I over-responded to the stims and produced way too many follicles and oestridiol went through the roof. They said it was too risky to go ahead as would be hospitalised with severe OHSS. I felt very unwell at the time and am terrified it happens again.
I'm on a different drug this time and the lowest possible dose so everything crossed we can get to egg collection. It will be a freeze all cycle but will be so happy just to get to that stage!

Jupiteer · 10/03/2023 16:48

Edit: the day before the trigger shot not the EC!
