How’s everyone doing now?

@Katie12444 are you about to have your transfer? I’m about to have my EC. Hope you’re doing ok :)

Katie12444 · 10/06/2023 09:20

@amoobaa hey, hopefully should have my transfer later this month. Got my second scan on Tuesday so hopefully my lining is starting to thicken…. Lots of luck for your EC. How are you feeling?

@amoobaa 💜

@Katie12444 I've got a scan on Monday to give me an idea of transfer date. Hoping it will be the week after :)

amoobaa · 14/06/2023 10:55

@Katie12444 And @Lyrabee how did your scans go?

Been thinking of you both, it’s so intense all this waiting!

I have my egg collection tomorrow at 08:30… I’m really beating myself up about how I’ve eaten in the last few days… I’ve been so good but in the last few days the hormones have been so intense and I’ve been craving all my favourite foods…

My follicles seem to have responded better than the last round. Hoping for high quality eggs, as many as possible. Taking a deep breath and preparing for the rollercoaster ride of daily updates as the eggs are fertilised and hopefully grow into healthy blastocysts.

Sending so much love and hope!

Hopefully I’ll be joining you soon for transfer xxxx

Katie12444 · 14/06/2023 11:10

@amoobaa hey, good to hear from you ❤️

scans are going well and my lining is behaving how it should at the moment so feeling good but also mindful how things can turn so trying to not get too excited about the ET.

lots of luck for tomorrow. Don’t beat yourself up. It’s so so hard and all those hormones make it hell! Keep us posted xx

@amoobaa great to hear about your follicles!

My scan went well, I'm at 12.6mm lining. Started cyclogest pessaries today, got a blood test on Saturday to check progesterone and will hopefully have transfer on Monday :)

amoobaa · 14/06/2023 15:27

@Lyrabee that’s wonderful news! Sounds promising… I’m keeping fingers and toes crossed for you. Hope for good news and no matter the journey, hopefully we can draw support from all the lovely people on here :) thinking of you for Monday and hope you are able to do relaxing things!

Irisjj · 14/06/2023 19:03

@amoobaa hope all went well x

@Katie12444 and @Lyrabee good luck with your transfers hope you have sticky beans - sending a lot of positive energy 🍀✨❤️

Katie12444 · 14/06/2023 19:23

@Irisjj thank you! hopefully should happen in about two weeks…. 😬 How are you doing? xx

@amoobaa hope today went ok xx

@Katie12444 so exciting you can finally do the count down!!

im doing well.. we had two scans and saw and heard a heartbeat. If all is well we graduate this Friday from the clinic!! (Still very unreal and nerve wracking with my previous losses, but trying to convince myself that this time will be different ❤️)

Katie12444 · 14/06/2023 21:35

@Irisjj i can’t quite believe it. I’m also very apprehensive and feel like there are so many hurdles so taking a step at a time but really hoping for the best. I’ve got one very good embryo so let’s hope it’s a sticky one ❤️

So exciting for you. At how many weeks can you hear at heartbeat? I’m sure it’s very nerve wracking but all sounds good and long May it continue! Do you have any ET tips? Any particular foods you did or didn’t eat before testing? Also, are you meant to rest after ET or walk around as normal?

OP posts:
Lyrabee · 14/06/2023 23:34

@amoobaa thank you so much! I've booked the day off work so I can distract myself and take my time getting there and back :)

Thanks @Irisjj how exciting for you that's amazing! Have you had any of the pregnancy symptoms yet?

Irisjj · 15/06/2023 01:03

@Katie12444 yes I know!! Its such a long marathon 🙈 with every step there are ‘new concerns’ - sometimes a bit sad that the nativity was taken away

We already saw a flicker of the heartbeat at 6 weeks - we were very lucky. The sound was still very far away. With 7 weeks the heartbeat was very obvious on the scan and also loud!!!! Friday is my 8 week scan 🤞🏻✨🍀

I did acupuncture a couple of hours before transfer and after. And ofcourse the typical ‘mac Donalds fries’ my doc recommended bed rest, so I took it easy but did move a bit to get drinks etc and keep the blood flowing (no walks or anything) but honestly the research doesnt prove bedrest is necessary - however with my history of miscarriages I didn’t take a risk.

Food wise, I just ate normal - hellofresh meals and a lot of water!! But I did adhere to the obviously no alcohol, raw meat fish etc!

Just enjoy the moment for ET, it felt very special for me to bring home our embryo and hope it was there to stay ❤️

@Lyrabee not really!! Just a bit of sore boobs but thats it.. made me freak out if all was well - but so far so good, guess I’m lucky on that end!

keep us posted xx❤️

Lyrabee · 15/06/2023 09:48

@Irisjj oooh thats fab! What do you mean by mac Donald's fries?

amoobaa · 20/06/2023 14:10

Yes… what’s the Mac Donald’s fries about?

@Lyrabee how did it go yesterday?

Sending positive thoughts 💭

@Katie12444 and @Irisjj thinking of you both too, hope all continues to go smoothly.

I’m so hoping to have a transfer after my next period has come and I can start getting prepped.

Hope everyone is doing ok. I had the egg collection last week and we got 24 eggs, 20 were mature (that’s double the mature eggs we got last time)

Of those 20 eggs, 5 fertilised (we have sperm issues)- that’s the best result we’ve had so far. I do find it really disheartening to know that I’m essentially sacrificing most of my healthy eggs for this process. Especially when it could be our last chance. I know that’s silly, but I feel so guilty for those tiny little eggs that never had a proper chance!

By day 3 all of the fertilised eggs (5) were growing well and they even saw a sixth egg trying to fertilise (didn’t progress)

Today is day 5 and they called to say that:

1 has stopped growing (statistically we knew this was likely)

3 have reached very early blastocyst stage

1 has developed beyond early blastocyst stage and has fully expanded but is not quite ready for biopsy as there aren’t enough cells yet (they think tomorrow morning it will be ready)

We are so grateful that (if all progresses as they expect) we will have one to biopsy tomorrow.

But we were really hoping for a day 5 embryo (for it to be ready for biopsy and freeze today)… not day 6 (all our day 6 embryos have either been genetically abnormal, mosaic or (even when genetically viable) have resulted in miscarriage).

The only time we have had success is with a day 5 embryo.

We were so happy with the 20 eggs result… and getting more to fertilise… and I know day 6 embryos can work but it all feels a bit worrying again.

Clinic are hoping to biopsy the one that’s growing well plus (fingers crossed!) another couple from the 3 slower growing embryos tomorrow.

anyone have any positive experiences of transferring day 6 embryos? Or any thoughts?

The waiting is driving me to distraction today.

hope you’re all ok!

Irisjj · 20/06/2023 14:19

@amoobaa ouch the drop is painful. What a process. I totally get the disappointment but Im glad you have more growing to the blast stage!!

I’m not sure what we transferred, my clinic didn’t call me on day 5 since there were a few of the embryos that had to go till day 6. My clinic says its not a big difference in pregnancy rates (for day 7 that is different). I hope it turns out like that for you as well!!

The mac donald fries is a superstition, a lot of ladies get them after transferring an embryo, no real science to support that it helps - but I def got some fries after!!

I’m feeling well - little babe is doing good - we graduated our fertility clinic and now waiting for my OBGYN appointment at 9,5 weeks!

Good luck to you all, I hope to see more posts of sticky beans ❤️ You all deserve it ✨🍀

amoobaa · 20/06/2023 14:23

@Irisjj thank you! very best of luck on your journey and thank you for the info, that’s really reassuring ☺️

I’ll definitely get the fries next time! 😁

Lyrabee · 20/06/2023 15:03

Hiya @amoobaa transfer went really well thank you! Now I'm in the waiting game again. I didn't get any macdonalds fries!

I never actually thought about the eggs coming from the reserve weirdly enough 😬 but what a drop, it's heartbreaking. I think day 6s are supposed to be just as good but I've not looked into that tbh. Fingers crossed for you my lovely!

amoobaa · 22/06/2023 17:57

Day 7 here… all 5 embryos stopped growing and are not viable.

Trying to get my head around going from 20 mature eggs (of 24 retrieved), to absolutely no embryos (when we had five seemingly growing well on day 3!)

We do have a mosaic on ice from a previous round. But really nervous about transferring it.

We will transfer it and it could work. But the chances are less than if it were a genetically completely normal embryo. And I miscarried a completely genetically normal embryo end of last year. So I’m struggling to be as much hope as I’d like.

really gutted about the results today.

sending hope to everyone ❤️

anyone have experience of mosaic embryo transfer?

Irisjj · 22/06/2023 21:14

@amoobaa im so so sorry.. that’s really harsh 😭 no experience with mosaic but I think there is a lot of research out there. Do you know if its low level or high level mosaic?

thinking of you ❤️

Lyrabee · 22/06/2023 21:39

Oh @amoobaa I'm so sorry lovely, that's an incredibly sad result :(

I dont really know anything about mosaics but surely if they froze it, it's viable?

amoobaa · 30/07/2023 09:37

Hey everyone 🙂

@Irisjj @Lyrabee and @Katie12444 how are you all doing?

I’m just starting meds for transferring our segmental mosaic which has been scheduled for about two weeks time. They said it had the same chances as a euploid.

Where is everyone at? I wonder if I need to join a new thread as this one was originally for March! Can you believe how quickly the time has passed!?

Lyrabee · 30/07/2023 09:42

Hey @amoobaa aww I'm glad you're getting your transfer, I'll keep everything crossed!
I cant remember how much I've said in here as I stared a June group for my second transfer which also didn't take.

I should get my meds for my third transfer this week and start them on my day one which will hopefully be next weekend!

amoobaa · 30/07/2023 10:02

Oh I’m so sorry to hear about your second round. So glad you have another to transfer.

that’s really interesting that you’ll be starting meds on day one… is that the oestrogen?

I’ve literally just been researching that because I’ve been started on my meds (oestrogen pills and patches) on my day one too- and I thought it was usually started later… any idea why they started you then?

really hope all goes well for you this time.

I’ll look for your new thread as it would be great to continue the journey. I think I’ll have my transfer on the 14th, only a couple of weeks. So scared and hopeful.

Irisjj · 30/07/2023 12:07

@Lyrabee im so sorry that its such a journey - I hope third time is the charm, keeping my fingers crossed for you.

@amoobaa good luck, please keep us posted here as well ❤️ I read a lot that you have the same chances, really hope the little one will stuck around✨🍀

I’m feeling well - it’s been a nervewracking journey after all my previous losses but I’m finally at the point that I’m starting to trust that we might get a real baby on earth side. 14 weeks now! I sincerely hope that you ladies are on this side soon too, you deserve it ❤️❤️❤️
