@MaybeBabyTwo the past 2 times I have waited til 9DP5DT as that is technically 14 days after ovulation, so by that point it would show up on most pregnancy tests! I've just always thought if i wait til then i will know a definite answer.

The first time, the positive line showed up straight away. The second time i had the faintest of lines barely visible and it turned out to be a chemical pregnancy. So from my own personal experience I will still wait the 9 days. First response tests would probably show up even earlier but I would personally drive myself crazy trying to see the lines getting darker/worrying its going to fade if i tested too early!

Good luck!!

Not been very active at all on here as I'm still waiting for my period to arrive to start my FET cycle! But caught up on your messages and wishing everyone the best of luck.

With regards to grading.. its so hard to not focus on it but they can look perfect but then be genetically abnormal. Our first embryo (my daughter) was a 5AA. Our second (the last failed round) was a 5BB and our final frozen embryo for this round is currently ungraded (frozen on day 6 but looks like a good embryo). I've been panicking thinking there's no point going through with it as it was obviously behind the others, but the Dr has reassured me basically saying there's no way of knowing how they will respond unless you try, and they would never freeze/transfer anything that didn't have a chance. One can look like its behind but actually develop really well after that. Just hoping once it thaws they can get a better idea of how good it is!

ObsidianDeck · 16/03/2023 09:47

Thank you everyone who replied regarding the 'partially fertilised' question. I drove myself mad with this..

Anyway, just got a call from the clinic with the day 3 update and all the slower eggs are now at the correct stage - I have 13(!) top quality and 1 good day 3 embryos. I also got a confirmation that I will have my transfer on Saturday.

I hope everyone is looking after themselves in this process!

nizo1245 · 16/03/2023 10:16

@ObsidianDeck that's awesome news, congrats!

Had my scan this morning and my lining is nice and thin so they've started me on Gonal F injections from today.
Last time I had ovaleap which is apparently the same medication, but they sometimes find switching brands can give better results for different people so hoping for a positive outcome this time.

Hope everyone is having a good Thursday!

SimplyThis · 16/03/2023 16:23

I have been following this thread without posting anything and it's nice to hear about everyone's experiences. I started my first (of three) cycle with gonal f last Friday but when I went to have a scan on Tuesday one follicle was too large already (probably immature) and the other 3 were too small so the cycle was abandoned. Waiting to have a follow up call with the doctor to decide on next steps. Quite sad with the outcome and also low number of follicles (last months had 6, was never high as I am older) but keeping my fingers crossed for next month to be better.
Wishing you all the best for the different stages you are at!

Jx3303 · 16/03/2023 16:34

@SimplyThis just wanted to drop in after reading your post and say I also had a cycle (2nd of 3) cancelled after my first scan where I only had 3 follicles, which were too small and my blood results came back all wrong too. So heartbreaking but i hope that the next cycle for you is lots better x

SimplyThis · 16/03/2023 16:46

@Jx3303 thank you for your sweet message! It's nice know we are not alone and that one failed cycled doesn't mean there would be issues with other cycles. As we abandoned this one after 4 injections and 1 scan, we still have the three cycles to do so hopefully we will have some good results over the next few rounds! x

Jx3303 · 16/03/2023 17:34

@SimplyThis you most definitely are not alone! I had a good first cycle (3 embryos in the freezer, after two disastrous NHS cycles with no embryos) and I also don't start with many follicles either. Some months are just not good months sadly. Yes we were the same, I just had to pay for the scan and it's not counted as a cycle. Are you with create? We are with create wilmslow but we are from Scotland, so it was very unfortunate to go down and have it cancelled as we lost money on some of the accommodation we'd booked. Xx

SimplyThis · 16/03/2023 17:59

@Jx3303 yes, I am with Create at St Paul's and the cycle was supposed to be mild IVF. Not sure if the next cycles will be the same, waiting to talk to the doctor. I'm sorry you had to travel and stay away from home, it adds to stress and costs! I am not living in London at the moment but can get there easily by train (about 1 hour away) so I can come back home at the end of each visit. I am so happy you got 3 frozen embryos from your first cycle at Create! Hoping to get some embryos to freeze too, also because I plan to do PGA before implantation due to my age.
Are you still going for further ivf cycles? If so, hope they go really well and you get a few more embryos! xx

Jx3303 · 16/03/2023 18:20

@SimplyThis I thought it may have been create! We are mild IVF too, I have low amh and follicles. I had to get some bloods done after the cancelled cycle, thyroid and prolactin. Prolactin came back a bit high (which can be due to stress - not ideal haha) but it's normal now so fingers crossed after my call next week we get the go ahead for next week! The initial plan for our second cycle was to be the same as the first (150ui bemfola) as we did get a good outcome first cycle, but I'm not sure if that might change. As we got 3 embryos cycle 1 our plan was to do another collection, and then have our included paid for transfer after cycle 2 (as we've never got to that point yet and really want to have given it a real shot!). So I think that made the cancelled cycle harder as we'd thought we were close finally to a transfer. Yeah it's made me very cautious now about booking too far in advance, I just need to book a few nights initially next time xx

LF82 · 16/03/2023 18:51

@SimplyThis @Jx3303 wishing you both lots of luck for your next cycles x

CorriSoph · 16/03/2023 19:25

👋

SimplyThis · 16/03/2023 20:07

@LF82 @CorriSoph
Thank you! 😊x

LittleDoveLove · 16/03/2023 20:29

@SimplyThis @Jx3303 what do you think of create? I am thinking of moving clinic if this is not successful. I actually would like to try ARGC in London as they are really good for 40 but it's a long way from where I am and I worry about the costs however I haven't dismissed it due to its good rep - unsure if anyone has experience of it?

With regards to create I would be using Liverpool with collection and transfer at wilmslow. Any honest thoughts I would appreciate.

@Katie12444 Cetrotide felt like my nemesis I really struggled swapping the needles over. I got the hang of it in the end but did have to order a few more. I found the stims made me very scatty and forgetful - that wasn't fun but definitely lifted a few days post collection!

LF82 · 16/03/2023 20:40

@LittleDoveLove I am with Create and have really rated them so far- very honest during consultation and appointments, good care from the doctors & nurses and my patient co- ordinator has been good. I don’t have anything to compare it with as never had ivf before I first round with create x

SimplyThis · 16/03/2023 20:50

@LittleDoveLove
I am quite happy with Create too despite my failed cycle. The staff and doctor are friendly abd explained all the options abd which would be better for our case and the patient coordinator has been very responsive. Please note that Create does not do regular IVF, they moto is fewer eggs with better quality so they only do mild, natural and natural modified ivf. They are also quite resistant to implant more than 1 embryo. I decided against ARGC because the regulator had lots of complaints of non compliance and lack of response in addressing those whereas Create has zero complaints from the regulator. I also believe ARGC is more of a bootcamp style approach which I can't commit to due to work. Hope this helps! x

Jx3303 · 16/03/2023 21:10

@LittleDoveLove I agree with the other ladies, I am so far happy with Create. I had two NHS cycles on max stims with really poor results and no transfer. I am now doing a 3 cycle package of Mild IVF - aiming for quality over quantity. All of the nurses, Drs and staff have been amazing and my patient coordinator is super helpful, responds fast and never seems to get annoyed at my constant questions. Although it's far for us to travel, and the second didn't go smoothly like the first, I am still very glad we went there and so grateful for all of their expertise x

Katie12444 · 16/03/2023 21:39

@LittleDoveLove so I had my first jab today and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be pain wise. Had a bit of a rash after but did spend about 20 minutes trying to prep it and set it up. So fiddly! I’ve just found I’m very tired and and headachey at the moment so trying to take it easy. Saw in one of your chats about clinic options. I was going to go with CRGH but nhs came through quicker than expected so haven’t needed to. I had a couple of consultations with them and was pretty impressed and I know a couple of people that have used them. If I did need private in the future, I would definitely go back to them. I saw Dr Nikki Chronopolos and was really impressed with her.

Hi all.

Just come back from my first scan since starting stims and they can see what appears to be a polyp in my uterus. They said it could be a uterine fold and should be able to confirm after a few scans. If it is a polyp, I will have the the embryos frozen and wait until the polyp is removed 😔 feeling very disappointed as I had a polyp removed in June last year so can’t believe it could grow back already. Hoping it could be a fold but probably kidding myself. Anyone been in a similar situation?

LittleDoveLove · 17/03/2023 14:31

Thanks everyone that's really good to know your experiences.
My worry about mild ivf is I've just done traditional ivf with rekovelle and Cetrotide and despite my 17 follicles and AMH of 13.4 I only got the 3 eggs out so I'm worried that lower dose would be even worse! 😞

Jupiteer · 17/03/2023 17:58

Hi all
I'm on day 7 of stims on Gonal F... Anyone else at a similar stage? I was started on a very low dose as my first cycle was cancelled due to over stimulation. However this time nothing seems to be happening so far 🙃
Dose has been increased and hoping for some action next week 🤞

LittleDoveLove · 18/03/2023 07:32

Hi everyone for those that have done ivf before, I have been told to wait 11 days post 5 Day transfer to do a pregnancy test which is 17 days post ovulation. Usually AF would arrive for me between day 12-14. Does AF break through the progesterone with IVF and start as usual if it's been unsuccessful or does AF only start once you stop taking progesterone after the negative test
Thank you for any help

greentreeseverywhere · 18/03/2023 07:43

@LittleDoveLove my last round I knew my period was coming before I got to official test date. it started the day of the official test day and I was still taking the progesterone

how are you feeling? I'm a rollercoster or its worked, its failed, I'm scared I'm happy🤣

still have bad back ache but did have sticky CM yesterday? boobs don't hurt as much as they did

Greenlee · 18/03/2023 07:44

@LittleDoveLove the progesterone will stop you from starting AF (normally). If you didn't have stims this month, you can actually test on day 15 post-ovulation equivalent, or 9dp5dt. If you test early on a stims cycle the pregnancy test might detect the trigger shot and give a false positive, but I think that's only for a few days after transfer.

Greenlee · 18/03/2023 07:51

I also wanted to let everyone know... after a really anxious day yesterday (with three tests only showing results after the cut off time) today I got a definite BFP. Now I switch my anxiety to wondering if I'll stay that way!
