Abc ivf 2023

Hi all,

Just did ER at Abc over weekend and waiting for embryo update. Very nervous as the fertilised rate is not as high. This journey is so stressful and sometimes I feel so alone.

hey I hope all goes well and those lovely eggs gets fertilised and grows into nice embryo. You are half way there! Remember, you only need that one lucky strong embryo and it will work :) All IVF can feel like a very looong and lonely journey, however just look on the forum - so many of us are going though this - you are not alone.
I am going though abc ivf too in Somerset, Bristol. Where about are you?

Thanks for your lovely message. Yeah this forum definitely helps me through some worrying time.
I am waiting to hear day 5 updates.

Hi Everyone, i’ll be receiving my day 3 update tomorrow.
I had 9 mature eggs collected and 4 fertilised. Its just such an anxious time isn’t it.
Does anyone know if its better to have the transfer on day 3 or 5?
I’m abc Birmingham :)

How are you getting on? I hope you managed to get some day 3 or day 5 blasts. I’m 9dp3dt from ABC London and it’s such a stressful time!

Sorry I was been away for a while. Congrats with your 4 fertilized one. How was the update?
I have 2 embryos on ice now and will probably have my FET this month.

@LR94 I hope everything is going well. I found it was hardest waiting for news from embryologists. Did you ask about day 3/5 fresh or frozen transfer?
@BH2023 sorry I am not really good with terms. What is 9dp3dt if I may ask? Yeah I have 2 fair quality embryos and will have FET as I am high risk of OHSS.

I managed to get one embryo which was a grade 1, this was transferred on day 3 but my other 3 embryos didn’t make it to blast.
i’m currently 10dp3dt and i’ve had positive tests for the past 3 days! X

@Sunflower5858 my test date isn’t until Friday but I would really like a blood test to see where my Hcg levels are at.

I’m at exactly the same timings as you @LR94! Must have transferred 4th feb?

I had my first very faint positive at 10dp3dt yesterday but still feeling nervous as it wasn’t dark. Test date isn’t until Friday but it’s not a blood test either. Have you had any symptoms? I’ve had nothing! Xx

@BH2023 yes my transfer was on the 4th!
Since the evening of my transfer I have had extremely sore boobs!! And over time i’ve had like little twinges and cramps and now I’m SO tired constantly and feel sick and starving at the same time which is horrible.
I started testing from day 6 which was negative and day 7 which was also negative.
I started getting faint positives from day 8 however the line isn’t getting darker, day 11 today and the line is lighter than yesterdays which is causing me lots of stress thinking i’ve had a chemical.
I thought the line should get darker as your hcg increases so i really want a blood test.
Do abc do blood tests if you’ve had a positive urine? I’m not 100% sure on the next steps xx

They are all really good signs that you body is producing the HCG! I’d definitely be reassured by that as I’m the opposite - haven’t really felt any more tired and I did have sore boobs which went away at the weekend :( Had a tiny bit of spotting early this week so hoping it just implanted a bit later. I did read the positive line can sometimes look less dark depending on how much you’ve had to drink - more diluted will mean less HCG so that might be why it’s fainter today? No ABC don’t do blood tests but you can order HCG tests online from Blue Horizon and it’s delivered the next day for £55. I might get one! Xx

@BH2023 yeah I 100% want a blood test because if my hcg levels aren’t rising and the embryo isn’t progressing, I would rather know now instead of at a 6 week scan.
i’ve heard loads of people don’t have symptoms so I wouldn’t worry!
when are you testing? Xxx

@Sunflower5858 I feel the same - it’s so amazing to see a positive test but I will be so nervous until I have the scan! My official test date is Friday so scan is likely two weeks or so after. I also ordered one of the HCG blood tests! Try not to worry and sending lots of baby dust to you for everything progressing as it should xx

Thanks @Sunflower5858 you too. Have you had your call from ABC yet? I spoke to them just now and have to wait until 15th March for the scan but they’ve agreed to doing a blood test for me on Monday to reassure me things are progressing ok. My line doesn’t seem to be getting darker now so with the no symptoms too, I’m worried! You should ask about a blood test too if you haven’t already xx

Hi @Sunflower5858 i had a blood test on friday and my hcg levels were 210, that was 13dp3dt and today i had another blood test which was 840! 16dp3dt. Seems quite high but she said it was really positive.

do you know how to calculate how many weeks we would be? Is it from egg collection or embryo transfer?

Any updates with your FET? Xxx

the clinic did my bloods which was good. I’ve got a scan on friday and a scan next friday aswell.

Ah @LR94 I’m so pleased for you, that’s amazing news! All sounds like it’s going on the right direction which is great.

@Sunflower5858 thanks for checking in. Not great news for me unfortunately, my test lines weren’t getting darker so went for my blood test today and HCG is only 22, meaning it’s a chemical pregnancy unfortunately. Really sucks as you can’t help but get excited when you see a positive! Hopefully everything will pass soon and then I can get planning for a future FET as we luckily have a couple of embryos on ice. Let me know how you get on when you have yours! X
