Hi all,

Just did ER at Abc over weekend and waiting for embryo update. Very nervous as the fertilised rate is not as high. This journey is so stressful and sometimes I feel so alone.

@Sunflower5858 I had no symptoms, no boobs hurting, nothing during the early stages, but I did test after 5 days as I couldn't resist and kept testing until the blood test with ABC.

Unfortunately, my thyroid test came a bit higher so I will need to take meds for 3/4 weeks and re-test before I go for my FET, my embryos are both day 5. and we did not do ICIS

I had my phone appt and they mentioned the medicated IVF starts on D2 of your period, when do you go back for the first scan?

Thanks for being so helpful and I have everything crossed for you.

Sunflower5858 · 03/03/2023 17:27

@MochaTea thanks a lot. A bit temped to test tomorrow as it will be my 5dpt 😅

I went for the scan at day 9 and that was the only scan I had for my FET. If I would know I would requested one more scan before the transfer day though.

@LR94 thats fantastic news, so reassuring when you can see the little one!

@Sunflower5858 just FYI that I didn’t feel any different post transfer either, still don’t!

Sunflower5858 · 06/03/2023 16:05

@1987ClaraBrown Thank you. Did you manage to get a blood test?

I tested on Saturday (5dpt) and saw the second line 😃 It was quite nice to see it but I will let you know when I have the blood test results.

Ohh that’s great news @Sunflower5858 ! Congratulations! No blood tests for me unfortunately, I asked but got told they don’t typically do that at abc unless there’s a history of miscarriages? Just going to trust it’s going well I guess!
Just got my scan booked in for 29 March, at which point I’ll by 7+6 (I hope!). Quite late but they’ve got limited availability apparently and they only do it from 7+ weeks! Long wait but I’m used to waiting at this point 😅

Sunflower5858 · 07/03/2023 10:06

@1987ClaraBrown Woa will be 3 weeks from now. I hope it will go so well and worth all your wait xx Yeah I had history so they will give me blood tests.

BH2023 · 07/03/2023 15:06

Ah huge congratulations to you @Sunflower5858 that’s wonderful news. Hopefully you can get your blood test soon to confirm it all and then look forward to your scan! Xx

Sunflower5858 · 07/03/2023 17:23

@BH2023 @1987ClaraBrown thank you. As I had a loss before, I find I don't really allow myself to be too excited as nothing is certain until some points. But hope that we will all get there someday soon x

For anyone doing FET soon or out of medications, you can get a prescription and buy in local Boots or pharmacy for quite cheaper price. For my oestrogen oral pills, I went to Boots and asked the clinic to send the prescription and I got 2 boxes for 20 quid, instead of 1 box for 25 quid in ABC 😅. For my pessaries, I brought the prescription to the pharmacy near me. Even they didn't have them in stock, they order for next day collection which is very quick.

OP posts:
BH2023 · 07/03/2023 20:26

@Sunflower5858 i can understand the not getting excited but especially after my chemical, but I’ll stay positive for you that hopefully this time it will all work out for you 🙏🏻 x

thanks for the advice re prescriptions, although I thought the cost of the FET would include the medication like with the fresh cycle, or does it work differently?

LR94 · 08/03/2023 13:26

@Sunflower5858 are you having your blood test tomorrow?
I’ve been so ill with a really bad cold/flu and my symptoms seem to have disappeared. My boobs are no longer sensitive and I don’t feel as sick anymore. I’m now extremely worried, does anyone know if its normal to have on/off symptoms during the early weeks? Currently 7 weeks today x

Sunflower5858 · 08/03/2023 17:22

@BH2023 thank you for all your lovely words. I just got the blood test numbers and they are good numbers for a pregnancy 😃The FET fee doesn't cover medication fee so I just tried to bought them myself as much as I can.
@LR94 Yeah my blood test supposed to be tomorrow but on Monday I had quite painful cramps so they did the tests for me earlier. I hope it is normal. Maybe a scan might help you to see if everything is OK?

@Sunflower5858 I actually also had a beta done today. Just decided I’d rather have as much information as possible. Number seemed good but I’ve got nothing to compare it to 🤷‍♀️. Having another on Friday, I guess the main thing is whether it’ll have doubled by then!

Also @BH2023 for my fresh transfer package pessaries were included for the first two weeks, after that I had to pay for them (I think I’ll have them until 12 weeks? They’ve been vague about how long I’ll need them for)

@LR94 keeping my fingers crossed that the flu is just messing with your other symptoms and everything is fine 🤞

@1987ClaraBrown I had a scan yesterday and the heartbeat is still there, the relief is unbelievable.

@Tiz90 I had ICSI and mine was £4950, and all bloods I had to pay for separately, semen analysis was also separate and i’m now having to pay for my pessaries which is £34 for a week until i’m 12 weeks. So there is quite alot of add ons.
If you don’t need ICSI then it will be cheaper than £4950 but they do add on extras.
Its probably worth speaking to them to see what you would actually need to pay for because each clinic might be slightly different xxx

1987ClaraBrown · 10/03/2023 08:58

Hi @Tiz90

We also did ICSI. If I remember correctly the ICSI package was £3850 (package that’s equivalent to £2750 without ICSI). On top of that I paid for embryo storage which is not included in that package and costs £750 for 1 year or £995 for 2 years. Other than that, the only extra costs I had on top were cost for the pessaries, as only 2 weeks worth are included in the package and if you’re successful you need another 10 weeks worth (so £350 in total extra for those) and I did 2 hcg beta blood tests that I paid for as those are only included if you have a specific history. Each of those were £55. Nothing else!

@Tiz90 for me they accepted my blood analysis and my husbands semen analysis, I think their rule is that it has to have been done no later than 3 months in the past.

In terms of the experience, I was relatively happy with the whole process but at times there were long waiting times at St Paul’s and I absolutely do not recommend my Patient coordinator Lina. She was unreachable, I wouldn’t hear from her when she was supposed to contact me, she ordered my repeat pessaries too late after explicitly giving her a deadline, which caused massive panic, and when I asked 5 questions in an email I’d get an answer to one of them after 4 days.

if you get Linda, I’d suggest asking for someone else. Other than that everyone was lovely, took their time to explain things and their online portal was straightforward.

1987ClaraBrown · 10/03/2023 09:42

@LR94 sorry for my typo there, that’s Linda. Not Lina

LR94 · 10/03/2023 12:21

Heard the heartbeat really well today, currently 7weeks 2 days and the heartbeat is 142bpm.
However baby is showing up small, only 6 weeks 5 days so will be receiving a referral to the early pregnancy unit for a 9 week scan but officially discharged from ABC

RH1987 · 10/03/2023 19:37

Hi everyone. I am doing ivf at St pauls abc. I have been ttc for 7 years and have done medicated cycles in the past at homerton fertility but this is my first ivf cycle. I'm on day 10 of stims and unfortunately have over stimulated as I have pcos and now risk ohss. I will have to do a freeze all cycle.

I have another scan tomorrow to check follicles and really hope to have ER on Monday.

Good luck and wish you guys all the best.

Sunflower5858 · 14/03/2023 08:44

@1987ClaraBrown how are your blood test results? Hope they are all good x

@LR94 so glad that the heartbeat is strong. You must feel so relieved. Wish the baby is going strong and you will have a smooth pregnancy ahead x

@Tiz90 welcome x Yeah the initial price is reasonable but it keeps adding on (embryo storage, frozen transfer if risk of OHSS...). They accept tests from other clinic as long as they are within 3 months.

@RH1987 welcome x Hope the ER today is going well. Keep us updated x

@Sunflower5858 numbers didn’t double as much as I’d hoped (I know you shouldn’t compare but I’ve seen others numbers triple in 48 hours and I was hoping I was one of those, just to feel as safe about this as possible) but close enough I suppose, the nurse I talked to didn’t seem concerned at all. I had 1360 at 19 DPO (14 days post 5 day transfer) and then 2590 48 hours later. My scan is on the 29th so I suppose I’ll find out what’s what then. Started to feel a bit nauseous (5w5d today) so I’m taking that as a good sign!

Sunflower5858 · 15/03/2023 20:13

@1987ClaraBrown the numbers look double and the main thing is the nurse didn't concern so I really think it is fine. Whoa you are exactly 1 week ahead of me. Hope things will all go well x

Hi

Hope it's ok to jump on the thread. This is my first round of IVF/ICSI. I started bemfola Friday, been for first scan today and they've upped my dose as my follicles were on the small side apparently.

I'm so scared of the egg collection and im not enjoyed the injections but all part of the process. It's nice to see other people going through it too as we're keeping it private.

Sunflower5858 · 22/03/2023 12:44

@Nic64 welcome! Yeah it is nice to share here with people in the same journey. How are your follicles today? The egg collection is actually quite easy for me (the hardest part is when they injects the needle into your hand). When will be your egg collection day?

@1987ClaraBrown how are you doing? How is your morning sickness?
