First cycle - IVF / ICSI - Day 4

My hubby and I are on day 4 of stims - our first IVF cycle. Just wondering if there's anyone else in the same boat who might want to share the journey? :)

@User491 I am so sorry it wasn’t the outcome we’d all hoped for for you. I have been in a similar position a couple of times so I know how utterly heartbreaking it is. All I will say is to take your time going through your options and making your decision on how you want to move forward. & look after yourself in the mean time 💗 sending you hugs! X

I’ve finally got my FET appointments booked in and they’re so far apart 😩 this is just the longest wait ever! So I go in for my Zoladex injection on Tuesday (Google it - the needle is so fat! 😭) happy Valentine’s Day to me ay?! I should then have a period a week later, then I’ve got a scan on 3rd March to check i’m down regulated and ready to start estrogen patches. Then another scan 2 weeks later to make sure my lining is thick enough, then progesterone injections & pessaries ! (I think for about 5 days) so transfer likely to be 22nd or 24th March! I’ll let you all know how the Zoladex beast goes 😬 x

@User491 I’m so sorry that it’s not looking good. Thinking of you & hope you’re feeling okay. Have you had a think about if you want any intervention or not?

I had my scan yesterday and my lining has thickened nicely and there’s a dominant follicle and almost ready for ovulation. So was told to start ovulation tests and when I get my surge , the day after is 0, then 5 days until transfer day. Well it came this morning so I am all set for transfer on Friday, subject to another scan Wednesday and bloods to check all still good! Nervous but pleased it’s here.

@Koalie ahh the waiting is hard isn’t it, but hopefully it will go super quick. I think you were asking about my procotol so it’s a natural cycle, no meds other than that he progesterone suppositories 3 X per day.

@Izzie94x eeeeek exciting!! I’m sure everything is going to be great

@Koalie I am but I had a bit of fluid in the uterus lining at my last scan so it has to of gone at my scan on Wednesday. So I’m a bit nervous!
Bless you, the waiting is awful. Worst part of all of this. So much waiting!! Are you planning on going for it after your next period?

@Strawberry08 I’ve got everything crossed for you! 🤞🏼 … I’ve got all my FET appointments, I think I wrote them out a couple of posts back. Going for a medicated transfer 😊 x

Hope you ladies are all doing ok🤍
We had our scan today - baby is measuring perfect, and exactly 7+6 and a strong heartbeat! All felt very emotional lol! But now the 4 week wait to go✨✨

@Izzie94x this is such amazing news!! I bet you can’t believe it!! Not long until the 12 week scan ❤️❤️

@Strawberry08 thank you! Jab all done … was actually an implant which is why the needle was so fat. Painful but over quickly. 🙂 x

@Izzie94x lovely news! What a relief for you. 4 weeks will fly by 🥰x

@Strawberry08 @Koalie thanks ladies!! I was kind of expecting the worst after my symptoms have been coming and going and aren’t the strongest. But goes to show that doesn’t really mean anything 😅🤍 so remember that after your transfers!!!

I bet you ladies just can’t wait till your transfers, time seems to drag when you’re constantly waiting. Remember to do all the old wives tails - we don’t care if they mean anything lol!!! Xx

Well I’ve had my transfer!! All went fine. The 11 day wait commences.. My husband really wants to wait the full 11 days which is going to be sooo hard!!

@Strawberry08 wahoo ! Amazing 👏🏼 I think I will probs wait till day 9 when my time comes. Might cave at day 8 but def not before, as I don’t wanna be second guessing the result and stressing myself out! Did you have your Maccy’s fries? 😆 x

Ahhhh I’m such an awful serial tester so it’s going to be really hard.
I did have the maccys! Usually I would have been prettt happy to have one but I actually had to force it down as the progesterone is making me feel so sick and bloated 🤣

@Strawberry08 ahhhhh so amazing!!!! 🥰 I hope the next 10 days go really bloody quickly. It’s the worst wait, and if I could go back now I wish I hadn’t over analysed everything ❤️ and I was silly and tested 5dpt, but I just had this major major urge hahaha but then it made it worse because I knew SO early!!! Eeeek, so exciting my lovely. Praying for that BFP for you xx

Morning everyone,

I had a follow up scan last week and although it was still growing it wasn't going to be viable, I started the misoprostol at home Friday morning and the cramps started and I felt awful all day but not had any bleeding at all! Done the second dose this morning, so will see if that gets things moving! Read loads of things online, about people not passing the tissue but still bleeding, I can't find anything quite like my situation 🙈

@Strawberry08 just the bad cramps and sickness again... literally not even a spec of blood... so unbelievably bizarre!
Thank you for asking! I guess I'll have to wait for my follow up call tomorrow 😬 unless it all kicks off tonight!

Have you set a testing date or going with the OTD from the clinic?

@User491 oh poor you, I bet you just want it to happen now to get it done. Hope you’re managing to rest & take some time to chill whilst you’re feeling horrid.
I’m going to try and wait until the 28th which would be 11 days post transfer of day 5 blast so will have a definitive answer either way but I’m awful for obsessive testing so we will see how far I get 🤣

@User491 I’m so sorry you’re having to go through all this :( it’s horrible enough without it not being straight forward!! I know you’re probably not thinking about this at all right now - but I’d definitely be asking for progesterone for longer next time🤍 my clinic advised 8 weeks minimum, when the placenta starts to take over. But I managed to beg for some more cause 8 felt too early lol! I know comments like this may not feel V helpful at the moment but I hope you don’t mind me suggesting that🥰 xx

@Strawberry08 the worst part is - once you start testing, you can’t stop!!!😂 I saw lots of posts women saying how 9dp5dt is a really good time to test if you want to test early and you should get a definite answer then!! Xx

Hey all
I feel awful today. Major headache, nausea to the point where I had to pull the car over and exhausted.
It should be too early for any pregnancy symptoms as I’m only 3 days post transfer but I was taking the progesterone for 5 days before transfer and had none of this.
Does progesterone build up the more you take? Did anyone else find this after having taken progesterone for over a week but it took a week to have side affects?
so confused!

@Strawberry08 oh noooo 😩 nothing worse than that feeling!! It could be a sudden surge of hormones lovely. I actually found going into week 7/8 this is exactly how I felt. And after speaking with the midwife she said it’s where your hormones are suddenly surging and cause this! So it could be a really really good sign 🤞🏼 I think I must have implanted day 2/3 post transfer, I had cramps and I just knew. So it certainly can be🤍 3dp5dt is technically 8dpo in a natural cycle, so not at all unusual to start feeling some signs!

Id have thought by now your body would be used to the increase in progesterone xx

@Izzie94x you were right.. curiosity got the better of me, and at only 4DP5D I have this!! Means very little at the moment as could so easily not make it to the official test date but nice to know I’ve got a shot!

@Strawberry08 omg!!!! Congratulations 😍🥰 that’s an even darker line than I had at 5dpt!! Eeee how exciting. But I also know exactly how anxious you’ll be feeling until OTD. Then the scan, then the 12 week scan. It’s never ending 🤣 please keep us updated!! Will you test again tomo? Xx
