My hubby and I are on day 4 of stims - our first IVF cycle. Just wondering if there's anyone else in the same boat who might want to share the journey? :)

@ScottishRach I’ve already got in my head that I’ll probably test 9dpt when my transfer finally comes around! I won’t have the hcg in my system from trigger either so hopefully won’t need to worry about any false positives. Re time off work, I’m lucky that I don’t work Monday and Wednesday mornings so the only time I’ve needed off so far is the day for egg retrieval. I have a very good relationship with my boss though so she knows everything that’s going on. I also work from home so am just sat on the sofa most of the time 😆

@Strawberry08 I don’t think you can get OHSS until after the retrieval. How you feeling about tomorrow? 😊

@Izzie94x & @User491 how you both feeling? Any nausea kicked in yet? 🤭 xx

@Koalie you can apparently post trigger. I don’t know what’s going on, could well not be OHSS but I have intense period like pains around my ovaries, lower back.
In tomorrow for egg collection at 9:30am so praying things settle after.
Feeling good about collection, I’m not too nervous yet 😊
How are you feeling?

Koalie · 19/01/2023 21:18

@Strawberry08 oh I didn’t realise that. Fingers crossed it’s just pains from your ovaries growing 🤞🏼 I’m feeling OK thank you, still just bloated and uncomfortable at the mo. Good luck for tomorrow! Let us know how you get on? 🥰 x

Strawberry08 · 19/01/2023 21:42

@Koalie maybe I’m wrong, who knows 😂 I’m sure someone will tell me tomorrow. Thank you, I will let you know 😊

Bran90 · 19/01/2023 22:53

Thanks @Koalie feeling pretty overwhelmed to be honest but reading these posts makes me feel less alone.

I have been having headaches last few days and quite irritable but no other symptoms so far.

Yes doctor said I was at high risk of OHSS so advised not to do a fresh transfer and to have a short break, but then if I'm at a higher risk I wondered if a natural cycle would be better for my body, at the same time if my chances are better with regulated than obviously I will do what I'm told.

Really sorry you have OHSS, how are you? Did you get checked out at the hospital or anything? Get some rest and wishing you a fast recovery.

Koalie · 20/01/2023 07:00

@Bran90 glad to hear your symptoms haven’t been too bad & you’re def not alone! 🥰 I was thinking the same re natural cycle being better for my body, although none of the drugs used in an FET contain HCG so if you do end up doing the regulated cycle then you’re not at risk of making it worse. From what I can see online, there’s hardly any difference at all in success rates for natural vs regulated with a very slight preference for natural. I think it also depends on whether your cycles are regular, as natural cycles seems to only work if you have regular periods. I’m going to ring my clinic today and ask to speak to them about it.

Thank you for asking how I am. I just feel very tight and swollen and can feel the fluid down low in between my ovaries but I’ve actually woken up this morning feeling noticeably better so hopefully it’s on its way down 🤞🏼do you have a further scan today to see how your follicles are doing? X

OP posts:
Bran90 · 20/01/2023 11:11

Scans are booked for Mon, Wed, Fri next week. I started Fyremadel today and its so itchy! Like a mosquito bite. Also got some period like pains, so far it's mild but will keep an eye out for OHSS symptoms.

Glad you are feeling a bit better, hope your OH is running around after you.

Strawberry08 · 20/01/2023 18:13

@Koalie oh great! Glad you are feeling a bit better today.
@Bran90 ah yeh I found some of the injections super itchy and had a lump with redness around. Think it’s really normal but very annoying!

I had a successful egg collection this morning. I was very very uncomfortable last night and this morning pre collection, like doubled over in pain sort of uncomfortable. No wonder because they collected 30 eggs!! 24 of which were mature so I'm absolutely thrilled. Hopefully we get a good fertilisation rate!
For info for others reading the thread, as soon as the sedation was given, I was out like a light and the next thing I remember was waking up in recovery so found the whole thing very pleasant! I did however have a lot of pain after and a bit of bleeding and was sick from nausea so a pretty unpleasant car ride home with pain and sickness. However had a sleep and some food and now I feel totally fine just a bit tender.
Now we await embryo news over the next few days 🥰🥳

Jupiteer · 20/01/2023 18:17

Congratulations @Strawberry08 that sounds like a great result!

Koalie · 20/01/2023 18:20

OH MY GOODNESS @Strawberry08 what a result ! No wonder you were in pain 🤭 hope you recover well …. Keep taking the pain killers 😆 xx

Izzie94x · 21/01/2023 09:50

@Strawberry08 oh my goodness me!! That is INCREDIBLE! Do you have pcos? That’s such an amazing number!!! There was me happy with my little 11 eggs 😂 you must be thrilled! Keep up the protein, and definitely take it easy. I’m sure they said you’re probably high risk OHSS with that many eggs! Do you know when you’ll get to transfer?

@Koalie how you feeling lovely? 😊 do you know when you get to do a frozen transfer? (Sorry if you’ve said! I’ve missed a few days!!) ahhh so exciting. Definitely best to get your body back to some normality first. Luckily my OHSS symptom’s have reduced a lot over this week (which obviously worried me - I thought it would get worse with a BFP! Lol) but I got my dye stealer this morning so feeling a lot better about it all.

@ScottishRach how are you feeling after transfer? Definitely pineapple core, brazil nuts and Pom juice!!! I have no idea if they altered the outcome but I wasn’t risking it haha! Wow AA is amazing!!! We had a 4AB transferred which seems to be a sticky little bean so far 🤞🏼💖

hey newbies!! @Mac425 @Bran90 how are you all feeling? Sorry I’ve missed a few pages and now replying on my phone I can’t go back and read them lol!!

@User491 how you feeling my lovely? Did you carry on testing? Eeeeek!!✨✨✨✨

So sorry if I’ve missed anyone!! Thinking of you all at the different stages!! Looks like we’ve got a great thread with constant good news though, I love it!

I’m 12dp5dt and did another test, for “science” lol! And finally got my dye stealer, so I think it’s time to step away from them!! Have a lovely weekend all xx

Strawberry08 · 21/01/2023 09:58

Thanks everyone! I had my call today from the lab to say 24 mature eggs out of 30 collected, and 19 have fertilised normally. Feeling so lucky!
@Izzie94x I don’t have PCOS (all my hormones are normal) but I was very borderline for PCO (as in, I have lots of follicles on each ovary but technical just under the parameters for PCO).
I need to wait for my withdrawal bleed and then have a cycle and when my proper period comes I call the clinic to do the transfer that cycle. So likely about 6 weeks away. ahhhh that’s an amazing test. Shows your hormones are going in the right direction. Definitely time to step away from the tests. Do you have your early pregnancy scan booked in?

ScottishRach · 21/01/2023 10:51

@Strawberry08 that's amazing news! I'll keep my fingers crossed for many blastos for you 😁🤞

@Izzie94x I'm generally feeling fine. I'm getting the occasional cramps, twinges etc but I'm trying not to read in to it too much either way at this point as I know those symptoms are both the same for implantation and AF on her way. I'm really hoping things work on this first transfer, but I'm lucky to also have 2 AA frosties in the freezer.

Excellent news for you though! That's a nice dark line now 😁. When do you have to call the clinic to make arrangements for your first scan?

User491 · 21/01/2023 13:42

Hey everyone,

Thank you so much for the messages 🥰
I'm useless and forget to reply 🤣 doesn't help that I've just noticed the notifications are going to my junk file 🙈 I'll try to keep up going forward!

@Strawberry08 wow that is incredible!!
At least you body is getting a little break before the transfer 🤣 6 weeks will fly by 🥰

@Izzie94x how are you feeling? That is an beaut of a line right there, and you do right to put the tests away now and relax haha! ❤️
When do you get your scan? Mines not booked until 9th Feb.. gonna be a long wait 🤣

@ScottishRach that's great news, 🤞🏻 for this one in the oven 😊

@Koalie how are you doing? 🤞🏻for you too 😊

I'll try and catch up on the other messages!

I've had such a dreadful migraine yest and back end of it today, it's making me feel a bit queasy. I've had lots of twinges and last night I felt like I had done an ab workout in my lower stomach... it's driving me nutty wondering if everything is ok or not 😢
I've done more tests and I think the line is getting slightly darker, but I done a clear blue digital yest and it didn't work and the one today said not pregnant 😢😢
But my frer do look a bit darker. What do you ladies think please?

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend ❤️

User491 · 21/01/2023 13:43

There's 4 tests on the pic, it looks like I've only posted a pic of 2 🤣

Strawberry08 · 21/01/2023 14:13

@User491 definitely need the break, not feeling very well at all at the mo!
ahhh those are definitely getting darker! I don’t think you have anything to worry about x

Koalie · 21/01/2023 17:25

@Izzie94x so glad you got the reassurance you were after hun. 💖

@Strawberry08 … I have been told before on previous scans (by EPAU) that my ovaries have a ‘polycystic pattern’ so I think that might be why I overstimulated too! Keep us posted on your little embabies 🥰

@User491 that’s odd that your digi didn’t say pregnant, cause your FRERs look plenty dark enough! Must have been a dodgy digi 😆 the progression looks good to me! Will you be going in for HCG tests?

@ScottishRach hope you’re managing to keep busy! Have you decided when you might test? ☺️

I’m feeling much better thanks ladies, I can walk now without it hurting and I no longer look 6 months pregnant 🤪 Having a call with the clinic on Wednesday about me potentially doing a more natural FET so will let you all know what the outcome is xx

OP posts:
User491 · 22/01/2023 13:01

Thanks both...
woke the morning and test is darker again, but had a little bit of bleeding.
It's actually got heavier now and bright red with full cramps, so think that's it 😭
I've to ring the clinic in the morning for advice.

@Strawberry08 aww bless you, are you feeling really poorly? The break has defo been needed to get yourself back well again, hope you are ok ❤️

@Koalie pleased your recovering now, I think i waddled for a while after 🤣🤣

Koalie · 22/01/2023 15:05

Oh noo @User491 I’m so sorry to hear you’re bleeding. I hope the clinic are able to give you some reassurance tomorrow. ♥️ x

OP posts:
Strawberry08 · 22/01/2023 15:27

@User491 dont lose hope yet! My only successful pregnancy I bled lots for the first 12 weeks. Often the progesterone pessaries cause it. Are you on those at all? If so which ones? I was on cyclogest and swapped from vaginally to up the bum (lol) and it stopped

Koalie · 22/01/2023 15:41

Oh noo @User491 I’m so sorry to hear you’re bleeding. I hope the clinic are able to give you some reassurance tomorrow. ♥️ x

OP posts:
User491 · 22/01/2023 15:45

Thank you both 😭

@Strawberry08 I was on the pessaries, those same ones, I used them initially vaginally then switched to rectally the last 4 days, but I used the last one on Friday morning and the clinic said I shouldn't need any more as I got a positive last Wednesday and rang them on Thursday and they said to finish what I had and my body should continue to produce the progesterone going forward.
Did you have cramps etc too while bleeding?
I wish I had hope, but I think that it's not the case for me as I have full cramps and passed some little stringy bits (tmi 🙈)

My husband has been trying to reassure me, but I kind of feel I know already 😢

Just not sure what the clinic will suggest when I ring them tomorrow.

Strawberry08 · 22/01/2023 17:24

@User491 i had horrendous period pains and bleeding (including red blood and stringy bits). Try and stay positive. It’s not over yet. The amount of hormones involved in ivf are huge so sometimes your body could just be adapting xx

User491 · 22/01/2023 17:55

@Strawberry08 thank you so much for the reassurance!
I hope all will be ok, you have gave me some hope ❤️ 🙏
Did you get bloods etc done? I'm wondering what the clinic will suggest, I hope they don't just say I've to wait it out.. the next 2.5 weeks I just know I won't settle 😢
I've sat on my phone all day googling everything 🙈🤯

How are you feeling today? I hope you are a little better?

Izzie94x · 22/01/2023 20:43

@User491 oh I am so sorry lovely. I know how it feels to be sat on Google hoping for an answer 😢 fingers crossed it’s just because you stopped the pessaries and not anything else if the test was darker. I would however push for more pessaries!! I’ve been advised by my clinic I should continue to take mine! I’m not sure how long till, but a friend of mine who recently went through IVF at the same clinic took them till 12 weeks! So for reassurance I will be asking for the same too xxx
