I can’t see a thread for anyone doing egg collection early November so thought I’d start one.
had my nurses appointment earlier this week to set out my plan with EC on 7/11 - eek. It’s my first NHS round (we were going to do it in April but I didn’t feel ready).
I was due to start period yesterday but it hasn’t happened and hoping it starts today, the clinic said there was some wiggle room but not much. Why is it I can usually predict it to the hour and when you need it to start it doesn’t 🤯
I would love to chat to anyone else with EC early Nov as DH is already fed up of me talking about it - it’s going to be a long 6 weeks!

@Thelotusflower hopefully you will get some answers at your review - I didn’t really get any, the consultant was surprised it didn’t work and seems to think it will work this time (I’m less convinced) - most of the time they seem to have no idea why it doesn’t work. I wish sometimes that there was more time spent researching why rather than trying to fix with IVF - I’m sure a lot of “unexplained” does have a reason.
It’s hard switching clinics logistically and from a medical history POV. For us, getting down to London would be 3+ hours and there are no other clinics near by.

It is such a huge emotional and financial strain, take care of yourself.

Thanks @NorthernDuckling Merry Christams all! Enjoy your day.

MammyandAva · 27/12/2022 08:03

Good morning all.

I hope you've had a lovely Christmas!

Just a quick update from me...

So the bleeding completely stopped on Friday. I'm guessing it was the progesterone being low.

Yesterday was my OTD and my tests are still positive 🥳

I have tried every way to get a scan done earlier and I have found a private clinic who will do it in another week but I'm unsure whether to go against the advice of my clinic which is wait until 6 weeks - I just need to know it's there and growing 😞

How are you all?

Thelotusflower · 27/12/2022 10:49

@MammyandAva thats great news! I was wondering how it was going. Glad to hear everything is progressing well. It is difficult making that choice for a scan as i know for some people, it is too early to see a heartbeat which can be unecessarily distressful. But at the same time the wait is so hard.

Good luck whatever you decide.

MammyandAva · 27/12/2022 22:52

@Thelotusflower thank you ❤️

@NS05 I was wondering whether you could help, I have read online that with a day 5 transfer at the end of the TWW you are around 4/5 weeks pregnant - does you know if this is correct?

Also, if so, did the clinic scan you early or 6 weeks post transfer?

NS05 · 27/12/2022 23:37

Hey @MammyandAva glad to hear the bleeding has stopped! So at 9 days post 5 day transfer you are exactly 4 weeks pregnant. You basically add on two weeks to the days post transfer plus the 5 days if that makes sense! So 23dp5dt would be 6 weeks. I had a scan at 6 plus 5 but my clinic advise at 7 weeks or just before or otherwise you may not see much! I think the earliest I would go is 6 plus 3. Hope that helps! X

Thelotusflower · 28/12/2022 01:14

Hi @MammyandAva I can also confirm that at 9 days past 5dt you are exactly 4 weeks as my clinic told me this too.

MammyandAva · 01/01/2023 11:00

Thank you everyone. I had my third lot of bloods on Thursday and they came back as 3614 at 16dp5dt.

I have woke this morning and I'm bleeding again, dark brown and red streaks 😭😭

Thelotusflower · 01/01/2023 13:50

@MammyandAva The bloods sound promising. Hopefully the bleeding is nothing to worry about.

Happy new year everyone. Hope it is one full of health, happiness and fulfilled dreams for all.

NS05 · 01/01/2023 14:47

@MammyandAva those numbers sound really strong, you could have a heamatoma or something, have they booked you for a 6w scan?

MammyandAva · 01/01/2023 18:19

@NS05 yes I'm booked in for the 12th so I'll be 7 weeks

NS05 · 02/01/2023 03:15

@MammyandAva ok great not long at all to wait then! Hope the bleeding has subsided 🙏

NorthernDuckling · 04/01/2023 08:01

Hope everyone had a good new year and hoping 2023 is our year!

I had my nurses appointment for the FET yesterday. My period is due 17/1 so due to start oestrogen then with the FET provisionally booked for 7/2 - eek. @SarahJane10 have you got your dates yet?

I’m wondering whether anyone is still on the same timeframe as me or whether I should start a new thread.

For those waiting on scans - good luck.

@NorthernDuckling so good to hear you have a date and things are progressing. All the best with it. Will keep checking in on here to see how you are getting on.

I dont have my review until the end of jan. But considering moving to create and try8ng a more natural/natural modified cycle, as only 2 out of 19 eggs fertilised anyway, so maybe quality over quantity? I dont really know. Dont get enough embryos to test, so maybe a different approach is the only way. Create also seem to do alot of testing, so who knows. Will have to see what comes up at the review.

@MammyandAva Hope you are still doing well and are able to look forward to your scan.

MammyandAva · 06/01/2023 07:51

Morning everyone,

I went for a scan at the EPU on Wednesday, everything looked great but I woke at 6 am this morning with extreme cramps and a lot of blood and clots so looks as though I'm miscarrying at 6 weeks.

I'm absolutely devastated to say the least.

The clinic have said for me to go in for a scan as some people do bleed a lot but I know it's all over, my sickness has stopped too.

SarahJane10 · 06/01/2023 09:54

Morning all,

Sorry not been in here for a while but just letting all know I'm waiting for my consultant and to find out when I can use my one and only embryo I have left.

Hey, I'm waiting to see my consultant now, let's hope I can use my last embryo soon

NS05 · 06/01/2023 11:09

So sorry to hear this @MammyandAva will be praying for you, please let us know what happens 🙏

SarahJane10 · 06/01/2023 14:31

@MammyandAva

Thinking of you

SarahJane10 · 06/01/2023 14:33

Everything went well with the consultation. I have an appointment with the nurse at end of the month to discuss controlled meds and a scan at the end of February

MammyandAva · 06/01/2023 15:14

Thank you @NS05 @SarahJane10

I have just got back from my scan and everything is perfect. Lovely strong little heartbeat and measuring over by two days.

It seems I have a subchorionic hematoma and my clinic where shocked this wasn't picked up at the EPU 😳

Miracles really do happen and I'm so relieved that another hurdle in this rollercoaster journey has passed

NS05 · 06/01/2023 16:05

@MammyandAva amazing news!! SCH are super common with IVF pregnancies I was sure that's what it was. Just try and take it super easy my friend had it and was resting the majority of the pregnancy to stop the blood flow. Hopefully it will dissolve on its own by 12w but def take it as easy as you can until then!

NorthernDuckling · 06/01/2023 18:35

@SarahJane10 thats good news about your provisional scan date of end feb, it’s not far behind me. TBH with Xmas I went a bit off diet so an extra few weeks would give me a little more time to get in the groove but the clinic are keen to crack on. I really hope it works this time for both of us.

@MammyandAva sounds stressful but good news that you know what is causing the bleed.
