Anybody having FET July or August?

Just waiting for my next cycle to start after a freeze all cycle. It should've been here last week but seems to be delayed so I feel like it's just a ticking clock. This will be my first FET, first ever transfer actually.

Anybody else in the same boat and want to keep me company?

@Roobles79 hope you’re doing ok lovely. Everyone always says that periods and pregnancy pangs feel the same so unfortunately I really don’t think there’s a way of knowing. Re testing, it’s so so personal. I’ve tried both ways (testing early or waiting till otd) and don’t think there’s a best choice sadly. I think we transfered on the same day? I’m currently 8dp5dt and my otd is tomorrow so even this different clinic time frames are different xxx hope you’re feeling ok and not too run down xx

@WildSheep how are you doing? What day are you today? I’ve asked my dr a couple of times and he’s said so long as you don’t bleed before day 9 then the progesterone levels are ok. I’m now with a private clinic so I don’t think they’d recommend against me paying for a progesterone test unless they really did think it was a waste of money? Also re bloods for beta check they don’t include them as standard in my package either but you can book then seperate(think they approx £100). I’ve spoken to others who have been nhs and had bloods done privately, so if you’re desperate might be an option. I think when I looked in the past I just searched for beta tests. Xx

@Rosemary121 how are you doing today lovely?

Roobles79 · 29/07/2022 17:53

@Agapanthus13 how are you feeling? Have u tested again or waiting til tomorrow? Yes the symptoms are the same aren't they, I feel quite lightheaded today. X

Agapanthus13 · 28/07/2022 14:37

@thislittlebird try not to send yourself crazy stressing yourself out with all the options, you’ve got enough to deal with right now lovely xx Were also looking to move but I’m convinced prices are going to reduce so holding out a bit, but on the flip side mortgages are going up. On the dog front, it’s certainly been a lot of work, so I reckon waiting till you’re settled out near family is a pretty good plan. on the financial side, private ivf is eye watering. We’re with lister on an access package and I find them great, but there were certainly more cost effective options out there (ABC I think off the top of my head). But you still have 2more embryos so you might not even need to worry about private treatment. Sending a big hug your way x

@Agapanthus13 yeah I'm convinced (hoping, at least) the prices will reduce.I think I'm going to get a valuation next weekend and see where we stand. We're fixed for a couple more years yet, which is good.

We'll be going to Lister after the next transfer, I think. I don't think ABC will have me, I'm too old :/ Hopefully we don't get there 😅

Agapanthus13 · 29/07/2022 18:34

@Roobles79 I tested again this morning and it was darker than yesterday so felt less stressed today, and a little bit of caution excitement creeping thank you for asking x

@thislittlebird 🤣 yup I’ve been telling myself prices will go down for the past year 😂

Rosemary121 · 29/07/2022 18:40

@Roobles79 Thank you, means a lot. I did some googling today about embryos and your right, theres mixed information. The ones we have left are both 2BBs, although they did say that the second was only just a 2 as it was a very early blast and only froze it as it was a freeae all cycle. No explanation for infertility no, the only thing that came back was an underactive thyroid but that’s being managed now. Sorry to hear you’ve got period-like signs, though pregnancy signs can be very similar so it is really hard to not question everything isn’t it! Not long for you to wait now till OTD, and I agree with Agapanthus it is such a personal choice to test early or not. I did because even if it didn’t last, I just wanted to see if there was any indication of anything happening because we’ve never got anywhere over the years.

@Agapanthus13 I’m doing OK thank you, I just feel ready to move on to the next step now. I don’t think my clinic will allow back to back without a consultation (we are NHS) and AF will be due sometime from Monday though I’m not sure with all the meds. No symptoms is not necessarily a bad thing and really pleased for you that the line looks to be darkening for you! Do you know what your clinics protocol would be? Most arrange a viability scan for 3 weeks time I’ve heard, would that be the same for you?

@WildSheep So pleased for you on the positive test, hope the clinic can help give you reassurance. Everyone is so different to I guess it really is hard to know what is supposed to feel ‘right’ for each person. How are you feeling?

Agapanthus13 · 30/07/2022 08:21

@Rosemary121 when will you get to discuss the next steps with your clinic? Is Monday your official test day?
I’ve contacted my clinic and have booked in a beta blood test for Monday (was really worried about booking it incase I jinx everything). This was my lowest grade embryo out of the 6 I’ve tried so really wasn’t expecting this. Just reading my paperwork, it say to book a scan for 2.5weeks time (assuming everything continues ok). Because I don’t have any symptoms I’m really worried it might disappear without me knowing,

Rosemary121 · 30/07/2022 08:44

@Agapanthus13 My OTD day isn't until Thursday which seems silly because nothing is going to change now, tested again this morning and a definite no. They'll probably schedule an appointment for a few weeks time so I'll probably transfer again in Sept. Ah I'm so pleased for you, must feel so exciting! Gives hope that the grading isn't everything! Fingers crossed for Monday, keep us updated! Sorry I think you've probably said before but was this your first cycle?

Agapanthus13 · 30/07/2022 09:03

@Rosemary121 I totally get how you feel, I have always found day9-13 really hard continuing with meds when I’ve had pretty clear negatives. I’ve asked last time whether they ‘really’ get anyone with a positive show up after day 9 and the nurses were insistent that they do so I’ve always complied and continued with hope x

thanks, I’m feeling pretty nervous. I made it to day 13with a positive before so I want to get past that date and still be positive. This is my second cycle, 5th transfer. X

Roobles79 · 30/07/2022 09:49

@agapanthus13 so exciting ❤️ @Rosemary121 I hope you are OK and fingers crossed for next cycle xxx

Rtmhwales · 30/07/2022 18:01

I know of two people who got positives only the day before or day of their blood beta test, so I get why they insist on it even though it seems illogical and cruel. One had a healthy baby and the other had a miscarriage unfortunately. Studies seem to suggest the longer it takes to implant the less likely it is to be successful which is also discouraging.

Rtmhwales · 30/07/2022 18:07

For my news, we appear to have a positive! I had a real squinter yesterday at basically 3.5 dpt (as they did my transfer in the evening Monday, which I thought was odd) but this morning at 4.5/5 I can see it fairly easily.

So .. hurdle one is overcome and my little hatching 5BB has tried to implant. Now it's just a waiting game to see if it becomes a chemical, or continues to develop. Blood test is this coming Friday. My HG is always through the roof and doubles incredibly quickly (was over 70,000 at 6 weeks both of my previous miscarriages) so that won't give me much reassurance except that it's not a chemical obviously.

With a history of recurrent miscarriages I'm going to be a wary mess for the next 4-6 weeks! My previous miscarriages were at 7W3D so I feel like 8 or 9 weeks is my sweet spot though after that trauma I'm not sure I'll ever relax honestly.

Fingers crossed this one is a sticky little bean.

Anybody having FET July or August?

Roobles79 · 31/07/2022 17:14

@rtmhwales massive congratulations!!! Really hope this one sticks for you!

So I did a test just now (I'm 10dp5dt) and got a faint second line, it wasn't a frer test. Shall I do a frer test in the morning? I am worried its a faint line. Will send a pic. It was also a cheap test from amazon 😑

Roobles79 · 31/07/2022 17:16

Thoughts please?

JessLaw96 · 31/07/2022 17:25

@Roobles79 I can see a faint line on your test as well! I think you should be a FRER test and see if its darker, but it’s definitely got a line!

I am currently 3 days post transfer with a 5BA, this is my second transfer and I feel different this time in a few twinges, dizziness/lightheaded yesterday and little today and tummy feels heavy. Anyone else had these and been positive or got these and waiting to test?

I just want to test already and see a beautiful line!

Rtmhwales · 31/07/2022 17:27

@Roobles79 congratulations! That isn't even a faint positive, didn't have to zoom in or anything. It's definitely clear!

OP posts:
Rtmhwales · 31/07/2022 17:28

@JessLaw96 I tested at 3.5 days post transfer (well, 3 days and 15 hours) and got a positive. I couldn't hold out.

Roobles79 · 31/07/2022 17:29

@JessLaw96 Thanks I think I will get a frer tomorrow. Ahhh that's brilliant I am keeping my fingers crossed for you. I would nt like to say, but, yes I had the light-headedness and dizzy feeling day 3 onwards and lately have really been feeling like period due. All the best for yiu, keep us posted. Xx

JessLaw96 · 31/07/2022 17:30

@Rtmhwales did you?! My partner is skeptical to taking a test so early (understandably!) I thinking of holding out until day 5-7! But I dont know if I will be able to!

JessLaw96 · 31/07/2022 17:31

@Roobles79 did you thats good to know you also felt this, I didnt feel dizzy or light headed first time round so im really hoping this is a positive sign!

Roobles79 · 31/07/2022 17:38

@rtmhwales ah okay, it didn't appear at first so we thought it was a negative. Crappy cheap test!!

Jazper · 31/07/2022 18:37

Hello all. Congratulations on those who have got their BFP's and really feeling for those who haven't.
After my 'text book perfect' positive test results last week I started bleeding yesterday. So I am expecting the worst for my BETA's Monday and Wednesday this week. If this is a MC (feeling very likely) it will be my third loss in quick succession. It's my second transfer and follows a MMC (naturally conceived) and a chemical pregnancy (first transfer and positive tests lines were only very faint). I am at a loss and wondering if any of our 6 embryo's that are left are any good 😞 Am I being dramatic? Is it just really bad luck that my first two transfers have failed?
@Rtmhwales you mentioned you've had two precious losses. Do you mind me asking if they were IVF pregnancies? Did they do any further investigations after those or change your protocol?

Agapanthus13 · 31/07/2022 18:54

@Jazper sorry to hear you’ve been bleeding and of your previous losses, it’s such a tough journey. Can I ask what meds you’re currently in and what testing you’ve done to date?

@Rtmhwales thats great to see a line so early 🙌 how are you feeling, have you tested again today?

@Roobles79 how are you doing? Have you managed to get another test to try? Def a positive line at least xx when is your otd, Will you be able to go for bloods to check your beta?

JessLaw96 · 31/07/2022 19:44

@Jazper I am so sorry to hear your bleeding now, fingers crossed its nothing and just normal this early?

Rtmhwales · 31/07/2022 20:01

@Jazper so sorry to hear that. FWIW I had excessive bleeding almost every 4-5 weeks for the first 20 weeks with DS so I constantly thought it was my period. So while it could be bad news, I'll cross my fingers for you that it's not.

My previous losses weren't from IVF, just natural conception. It's why we went to IVF. MMC, chemical, MMC. All in eleven months or less. They only tested the last one, which came back Trisomy 13. We tested everything under the sun and DP came back with repeated tests for super low morphology. While the fertility doctor didn't think it would be an issue, I was done with trying (it took 8 months between miscarriages 1 and 2 to conceive, and we'd been trying 5 months after the 3rd one) and I'd convinced myself he had sperm DNA fragmentation and we'd end up with another poor embryo. So we went to IVF with PGT A testing. Now it's just a waiting game to see if this one is healthy and sticks past 8 weeks.
